Sometimes I think TheWizzz is an alt of one of the Devs and comes here to "whine" so its get flamed with support post, making them feel better.
I mean, you have to be mentally challenged(with no offense itended for the real mentally challenged people)to post the same thing over and over again knowing that you'll get flamed everytime. ------------------------------------------ "To do something right it must be done twice. Get A Life Muppet...
I have virually no stablity issues with eve...number clinet crahes in the last 2 months? roughly 3.
Lag yes sometimes but TBH not seroius amouts of it...mostly when trying to access the market and when stackiking items in cargo bay or hangers and mass refines.
As for clinet side issues? pretty much feck all like i have said 3 CTDs in the past 2 months or so, mem leak had no indications of one on my system (which is pretty far from cutting edge system, but pretty well maintained). ========= "I am not saying there should be capital punishment for stupidity, but why can`t we just take the safety labels off everything and let the problem fix its self |

lol the only reason eve would be unstable is:
a: your computer is crap, or is set up terribly.
b: you are suing a crappy dsl/dialup method.

I haven't read most of this thread, but wanted to post my 2 cents. Eve is very stable for me. My computer is actually having major issues right now, I believe my motherboard is on it's way out. Most games are unstable, but oddly eve continues to run well. I have a new motherboard ready, but I need a new processor as well since the new MB is AMD and my current setup is intel. Thank god Eve still works in the meantime. =)
If your issues are as bad as you say, you need to look at your PC. Either something is broken, corrupted or needs an upgrade by the sounds of it. --------------------

I can run 3-4 EVE clinets stabilty on my PC.
I think Ragnarok Online is the only other that I can run 3 of, and it's not stable.
I don't know what mem leak you mean. I have only a gig of ram and I can run for hours on end (and did back when I had the free time) without any 'mem leak' affecting me in any way.

Mine is ludicrously stable, i can leave 2 clients on for 6 hours at a time with overclocks that make dual prime crash after 30 minutes ¼___¼
Current (single) client has been going for 6 hours and is using 246Mb ram, with a 256Mb buffersize set in the .ini :P ----------------

I have play SWG, City of Heroes, City of Villians, EVE and WoW all with active subs and I run 4 EVE accounts simultaniously ( no I don't have a GF atm and I am hiatus from work ) and They are all stable.
EVE, however, is the most stable one of the lot. CoH/CoV lags when it shouldn't and WoW you can force a DC from that game just by moving the mouse fast at 2400DPI trying to PvP. SWG... lol... I won't even bother saying it.
EVE runs flawless and when I do occasionally DC its because I am multiboxing on 2 PCs.

Eve is stable for me.
And Deklein should be one of the least lag regions. I haven't had any lag in Molden Heath for quite some time.

Windows XP Professional 64 bit edition. I used to be able to run multiple clients fine until that dreaded patch that made my client get memory leaks, though it doesn't get too bad until after a few hours of play.. but still.

I've never really had a problem, but...
I upgraded to a 64bit dual core machine and I was having endless CTDs.
Cleared the cache and it seemed to work fine.
I suggest doing this. If this does not work try checking the Windows event log to see if you are getting any critical errors.
Then I suggest you get Windows Defender (www.microsoft.com/windowsdefender/) and run a spyware check.
If the problem still happens, try updating your drivers etc. -=====-

It's probably a. 64bit seems to give ctds unless you clear cache.

Sadly the game is not stable for all. I've upgraded my PSU to 450W Antec, went from 9500Pro to 9800Pro to X850XT and I've installed the game from scratch to another partition and still I had 6 ctds yesterday. Almost all during missions. In one particular mission it crashed and left my 6 ogres behind. I logged back as soon as I could (in aprox 20 secs) and the game warped me back to the mission stage (no control of the drones), released another set of Wasps and as soon as I did this I got another ctd. Third time was the charm and was able to finish the mission. The funny thing is that its really hard to pinpoint what is causing the problem. I've played in window and in fulscreen mode. Sound and no sound. With and without antialiasing or anisotropic filtering. Installed DX9 again. Have the latest graphic and mb drivers. And still the game crashes very randomly. The framerates are always good.

LMFAO!!! that is one of the funiest things I have ever read. One out of how many thousand players is having problems running Eve and not only is Eve broken but the community is as well. BAHAHAHhahaa!!!
Somebody patch me quick!
On a serious note the problem is almost certainly on your machine or somewhere along your connection route. Try a trace route to a few places and compare. Your Eve install may also be corrupt, try re-installing. If you are using a wireless network turn off IEEE 802.1x Authentication, I found it causes my client to crash every minute or so. Also look at your firewall settings and make sure you don't have a port you need locked down. Also have a chat to your ISP, the issue could be there.
*snip* no need for me to sink to your level.

ROFL you need togo play SWG. Then Tell us about lagg and Not being fixed. When they say Fixing Client or Server you simply have to cringe and laugh at how much worse it actually gets.
I personaly have had few issues. It doesnt take me 15 min to load. Sometimes i have a Issue coming out of a staion with alot of players out side it. but Honestly Eve is Better than Most MMO that have alot of players on the same server. Id almost say the best out of any game i have ever played.

Originally by: Lo3d3R I think EVE is a fantastic game, the only thing wich really bothers me is the random disconnects wich are NOT caused by:

I have tested this in my own noob way probaly, but i really think there is a bug in the eve client regarding "session changes" (e.g. jumping threw a gate) and beeing afk for a longtime and coming back clicking something.
I had been having disconnect issues. Cable connection, router, and three machines on network. I finally figured out what was happening. The modem and router are on the other side of the room from my game rig. I was (unknowingly) experiencing minor power spikes and losing connection for an unnoticeable amount of time. If I was browsing I wouldn't notice, but the Eve client will bail anytime the network blinks... So, I went and bought an inexpensive battery backup (I have a UPS with AVR on my rig already) and connected the modem and router to it, and stopped losing connection.

It works for me - zero crashes
We are playing the same game
So it's your PC - isn't it?
Saying it works with BF2 is pointless - Eve is not BF2.
Comparing BF2's memory leak to the reported memory leak in Eve is again pointless - I have no memory leak, so it isn't Eve so much as Eve in certain situations (hardware / software). BF2's was probably a simple coding***** up and so equally simply fixed.

Not sure wtf, but heck, most of you know that I play this game under linux...and it works just fine.
I do see the memory leak (had it under winxp sp2 as well), but its isn't an evil horrible thing, nor is destabilizing for hours on end.
15 minutes of gaming...if ol' wizzy has this leak, and is say running with 256 meg ram....sure, why not.
I will say that after several hours, this leak begins to affect frame rate and load times, but not to the extent that the OP is claiming.
