I run two EVE's at once on my computer regularly. Takes less than 1 minute - 45 seconds to go from Login to space. I have never crashed. Guess what? I only have 768mb ram and a 1.5 ghz processor, and I get good frame-rates to boot.
I'd say your computer has compatability issues. You may think it's "all that" , but if my piece of crap Compaq can run two instances of EVE issue free, and you can't even run one, then the problem is clearly 100% on your end.

wizz - i dont think i have ever seen u do anything but whine constantly about almost every single aspect of the game.
however as soon as its 5 minutes late starting up after dt u notice.
if something makes u as unhappy as this game seems to why are u sitting anxiously at your pc every day waiting on it coming back online.
why are you still paying for a game u seem to hate so much.
u always seem to tell everyine that every other game u have ever played is better than EVE, if thats the case why are u still here? -

You're basically blaming EVE because you can't keep your own computer running smoothly...
...and you compared an MMO that has 25k players online at once to BF2 servers which have about 64 people on? GG.

I think EVE is a fantastic game, the only thing wich really bothers me is the random disconnects wich are NOT caused by:
my computer(s) my network
I have tested this in my own noob way probaly, but i really think there is a bug in the eve client regarding "session changes" (e.g. jumping threw a gate) and beeing afk for a longtime and coming back clicking something.

I love this reply. The poit of eve is to not have multiple instancing, or worlds. Having them cheapens a game. Eve is only rarely down due to errors. It's the nature of their hardware. Occasionally a few computers will go down but that only shuts down a system or two , or slows down a system.
Lag wise. I have none. Try moving away from the central systems. If 300 people are in a system, count on some lag , or if a ton of people enter a system that usually has very few, you get temporary lag.
As for the game being unstable, and crashing, the majority of problems come from the cahce. save any Bookmarks you have in it, then delete it, adn replace the bookmarks.
This has solved every crash problem I've had with eve. I've been playing for pretty much 3 years, so I have dealt with a lot of problems.
I've ran 3 clients at once before, 2 at a time most of the time.
The game is unique and excelent as it is with one stable universe, no instancing etc.

A lot of people will say that there are no memory leaks in eve and that it is your computer, but my client uses over a gigabyte of ram: Discuss
After playing for a few hours, my framerate went below 1, and I got a tooltip popup saying I was out of virtual memory (which i have 1.987gigabytes of). Eve was the only significant thing open(no, I dont have bonzi buddy).

I doubt everyone else has it too, sounds like a problem with your computer. A firewall causes EVE to take forever while logging in, and you get heavy lag while you're playing. The screen freezing every 1 minute could be a lot of things, but since almost nobody gets this problem I'd guess it's again something to do with your computer.
In short, your computer is borked, not EVE.

its not realy a difrence its not a mmrogp its the client memory leak im talking aboud.
is it becouse eve is not to be compared with battle field? becouse battle field has way more players? becouse battle field is way better quality? is that why other games are just better? or is it becouse other games have just more players bigger developers and more money to spend on programers for creating games?
i think its both

English isn't the primary language of many people on this board. I think if he wanted to start a thread specificically to be flamed for his insignificant spelling errors he would have said so.

Usually I play Eve on a 3.4 Pentium, with 1024 memory, and Ati x700 pro. And I have no problems what so ever. One time a system crashed. But that was before the Eve server upgrade.
Once in a while I play the game on a 2.2 Pentium with 512 memory and a ****ty graphics card. And its a not unstable, its a bit laggy moving around in station, getting up the market and so on, but not much more then 10 second lag on those thing. Module lag in space is nothing. I never hang on the old system, never get booted of the server.
Did you ever consider it's your system that is far bad?
I mean, that last PC I described shouldnt even be able to run B&W 2, but it does to a certain degree.

Eve is CPU intensive, while the BF Series is GPU intensive.
Upgrade your processor. If this is only just happening, it sounds like it could be overheating, so check if the fan hasnt come loose.
Oh, and stop sounding like a whiney little ****.

I log into eve in less than 15 seconds and never dip below 70 fps. This is since a week after patch and often flying around nonni and Jita.
Why don't you post your computer specs because no one I know has these problems your having.

I had problems with taking ages to load up. I cleared all the portrait pics out of the cache and it now starts up within 30 seconds.
Every time you click on someone's info, it stores the portrait. This should have a button to clear them but it doesn't. However, it doesn't make it worse than other MMO's because of that. At least there's a cure for the problem, even if it is a manual one which is more than I can say for the other MMO's I had a go at.
Instead of ranting in the forums about it because you can't be bothered, try asking why next time, or looking in the workarounds forum. There are many here who have no doubt experienced the same problems and know how to cure most of them.
FYI. It may not even be the client causing the memory leak, I have found a relationship between the memory leak and DX9 graphics acceleration so it's most likely MS buggy software causing it.
If you are so against buggy and unstable software, why do you use Windows? I hear Linux is pretty good and a lot more stable.

It was at one point taking Eve 2-3 mins to start (clearing cache had no effect). Then I reinstalled it from scratch, patching from the CD version. Load time went down to 15-20 seconds. All I saved were my BM folders. So that seems worth trying.
