I got the same error as Micah Junfir. I simply fixed it by de-merging cells O3 to O7 and S3 to S7 in the "Skill" sheet.

Oops! I was playing around with adding more information about your character to the skills sheet and forgot that I merged those cells! I unmerged those cells and uploaded it.
Shurikane: I back tracked those switched cells to v14.04. Are you using the latest version?
Larsel, Phoenix: Connection problems? Try this, put in your character # in to cell B2 then use the CTRL-G and let it fail. What that does is put your character # in the URL string. Then try the I10 edit.
Elune Ferret: More great ideas! I'll get that in to v14.08.
Just a quick note: I've added 5 new skills (in the Science group) in v14.07, so copying your old cells to the new spreadsheet could be a problem.

Idea's to 14.08, i've already noted the formatting of the skill that are maxed out. But I have had a problem for a while where I'm mining and collecting a great load of minerals, like 100 billion trit, 10 billion pyirete and so forth, think the minerals required to build a brand new Oblisk (Gallente Freighter). Using the various mining sheets, provided me with little info on what ore's to mine in what amounts to achive these goals. so I've copied and modified the mining yield sheet to instead of putting in the diffrent minerals you need for each ore, you type them into the total needed. and added an extra colum to type in what amounts of ore you already have. This then fills the mineral matrix with the minimum amounts of minerals left to get from the diffrent kinds of ore. Here's and exsample: You need 10 million tritanium and 50.000 Pyerite and 1 million Isogen. Looking through this sheet I see that mining 2.799.864 units of Veldspar, 825.840 units of Scordite and 86.000 units of Omber would make me mine the least amount of ore to get the requested minerals. It's not always the best thing to just mine a single kind of ore if you're in need of a specific set of minerals. If you like I'll send my 14.05 sheet where it's in so you can have look maybe perfect it and intergrate it into the working set. _______________________________________________ Still waiting for ingame voice, with sound modifications for RP effort. _______________________________________________ |

A quick question:
How often does EVE update to the source XML file? I ask because I am 3 hours away from Frig 4 but the spreadsheet say 7.5 hours.
Great app by the way, works very well so far.

Try my new Mining Calc sheet on 14.07. There is a small error in the formulas where it shows you to over mine which is why its kind of hush hush. But you can enter how many minerals you need, how many you have on hand, what ores are available to you, what ores you have on hand and it will calculate how much of what ore to mine to mine and about how long that will take. Try it out.

EVE only updates their XML file when you complete or start/stop skills. Also it does not include implants since the last patch.

I've tried out the Mining Calc, seems nice, does excatly what I was going fore. even found a bug. "X'ing Jaspet, makes it kernite or something". (Row 50 needs to be 51).
2. Futher suggestions for 14.08 skills!: someskills are unlearnable like "Biologi" and "Black market trading", consider removing them from the list/hide/do something active to have them in the sheet? Currently I do some seperate calculations where I remove them, by subtracting their values from the totals. _______________________________________________ Still waiting for ingame voice, with sound modifications for RP effort. _______________________________________________ |

Just wanted to inform you that the spreadsheet doesn't work in Excel 2007 after you enable the content and then try to save it and load it later. I'm not sure if this is the fault of Excel 2007 or the spreadsheet. But I wanted to let people know that it doesn't work quite right.
BTW, Great Spreadsheet I've used it for quite a while now and appricated the work you have done with it!

I tried EMD with Excel 2007 a few months ago and nothing but problems. I'll wait until it is closer to release before I worry about compatability issues. Though it looks great and easy to use, it has a long ways to go!

Fantastic work Jublie I had been using since 1405 and it's been quite helpful to say the least.
Just note Drone Sharpshooting no longer requires Sharpshooter skill.

Hi Jublie,
Great work first off... I was wondering where you get your data from for all of the skills? Does CCP supply an XML file with all the info on it?

To a limit, check out this dev thread. There is a file that has skill names but not details. Jublie JellyBean! Keeper of EVE Master Datasheet. Thread: here |

This looks cool, but, being a bit ignorant of Excels workings, I find that the buttons when selected just show a graphic that can be adjusted in size but does not perform the intended macro function, there must be a way to make the button function as such but Im at a loss to work out how. pls enlighten me guru's.

Edited by: CozmoKramer on 11/09/2006 13:23:23 Hello !
I'm trying to switch over from my old format of EMD to the new 14.07. I'm having problems with the Import button. When I select my xml sheet, I get a "Type Mismatch error" which points me to the
cBalance = Grab_Node_Value(nCharacter, "balance")
code line. Is this a know thing. I've looked through this thread and didn't find anything. Any help anybody could offer would be appreciated.
[EDIT] : I'm running Excel 2k3 SP2 off of WinXP
Thanks Jublie of keeping this awesome tool going.

I had the same error, using Norwegian number format in WinXP. Switched to English/Us and the error went away.
The problem is the decimal character, for instance 1.234,56 in Norwegian is the same as 1,234.56 in English (One thousand two hundred and thirtyfour point fiftysix)
Other than that, great product!

Hey Djerv,
Thanks. It worked out by simply changing the Country/Language setting.
Although it took like 3 minutes to load the XML data. But I blame that on running 2 instances of Eve on my XP machine with 256 megs of RAM

Jublie, would you mind if I used the skill data which I assume you so painstakingly typed in? This is the first good source of Excel data I've been able to find for my own training time calculator/planner. I've already extracted the data I need from two sheets; Skillanmes, rank, primary, secondary, and requirements. I know the data itself is owned by CCP, but I'm asking you for use of the work you've done to compile the data in a useful format. Here is my (very new) site...Mr Xofar's EVE Site

I've been using 1407 and noticed a minor bug. I'm not sure if anyone has the same problem, as I've not read the thread fully, but the skill in training start date always defaults to 20/06/2006. This used to work (in a fashion) so the only thing I can think of is the XML has changed?
BTW, Great sheet
