ItÆs been a long time coming, but it is finally here.
History of the MC
I wanted to tell a story. This movie took me nearly five months of on and off effort to build. Words cannot really express the pain, frustration and work that went into this. Some may like it while others may not. So, before you dive in, let me give you a bit of info.
The vid is in the standard 5:4 format due to the fact that I was using footage up to two and a half years old. It is very clean and clear, at least as much as it can be for being that old. It is not hi-res widescreen uber pretty. Those vids come later. I wanted this movie to have a bit of a ævintageÆ look to it. Those that appreciate nostalgia and the ægood ole daysÆ will understand and appreciate it.
I have a ôFRAPS DUMPö folder with 178 gigabytes of footage in it. ThatÆs what I culled and edited from.
The finished video has over 48,000 frames and took two and a half hours to render on a machine with a AMD Dual Core 3800 XP with 2 GB of RAM.
Total run time is 26 minutes and 32 seconds.
It took me a long time since my last video to get back into the swing of things. I made the ôWho is the MC?ö vid to show where we are today. æHistory of the MCÆ shows where we came from.
Some that watch this may ask, ôWhy did you leave this out?ö or ôWhy didnÆt you mention blah blah blah?ö Well, the thing is already almost half an hour long. I could have spent another five months perfecting it, adding details and making it about forty minutes long in total.
One can only watch so much, ôà and then we shot these guys for a whileàö before you get bored. I tried to strike a balance in this movie by hitting the high points of what the MC has done from my point of view and even then I feel like I left some things out. I wanted to say a bit more on a dozen more subjects but it couldnÆt be helped. This thing needed to be done and I am very happy with how it flows and the final result. I hope all of you are as well.

Very good in terms of cinematics, but the fight sequences sucked. Whether or not it was meant to be like that I don't know. But the MC vs FoE video had the right idea in that sense.
Overall, not what I expected, but a good effort in cinematics.

Ermph. Gotta be honest with you, Seleene: I didn't like it too much. Or rather, it didn't have what I expected it to have. There really wasn't much of an explanation of how BDCI and FRICK came to meet and work together so much, there wasn't anything about how you and Leafo came into contact... it just felt like "here's one fight, and then another, and then another, and another. Oh and here's some pretty dreads and our outpost at the end." For a history, it didn't feel like history too much; there wasn't enough context included with the battle footage. It started off great, with BDCI's origins... but then it's just sort of "fight fight fight FRICK fight fight MC fight fight omgboomlol." And man, no context for things like VOTF? No explanation as to why this was so huge? That's what made the original VOTF video so awesome.
I really wanted to like this one, Seleene, but I can't give it the luffles I want to. If it had more context... it would be the best EVE vid ever released. As it is, it's simply "good".

Thanks to everyone else who has made a comment. After so long in making this thing I'd become numb to it. When Loxy saw the preview and started raving about it I was like, "Oh? Really? Umm... cool, I better finish it then?" Then he sent me a page long list of errors and fixes to correct.
Oh, I'm supposed to give Dianabolic a credit for giving BDCI & FRICK the Everlasting Vendetta contract. So, there ya go, Uberbear!

I can certianly understand what you are saying and appreciate your honestly. The thing is, I could have easily made this thing another 15-20 minutes longer. The original draft was actually 42 minutes! There were plans for NSN and TC to do 'origin' vids to include in the finished product and everything. However, like all projects this size, people got busy or preoccupied, etc...
In the end, I needed closure on this project so I could move on to other things. Some of those things are going to include a lot of shorter vids, some about the MC corps, some about certian pilots in the MC, etc... This movie was a huge monkey on my back and I couldn't do anything else until it was done. So, in that respect, I may have rushed it a bit at the end.
Could it have been better? Hell yes, but I might not have ever finished it either.

While it may not be fair, this movie kind of expects the viewer to be somewhat familiar with the subject matter. Mmmmmerf. If you want people to download other stuff though, why make the History vid... Again, I see where you're coming from. This is just my "don't release/do/turn in something unless it's absolutely fracking spectacular" instinct kicking in. (Something that's probably gotten me in a lot of trouble in the past, TBH...)
(Also, I'm not saying that downloading old MC vids is a bad thing. Hell, the aforementioned VOTF vid has tempted me to seriously inquire about BDCI membership many a time. The subject of this thread sure isn't helping that feeling given Andre's current corpless state. )

And I must say I am very impressed! Not an easy task to try and scale down over 2 years of events and footage in to one movie, without it getting boring.
I dunno if I would be able to that tbh, just to sort out the right footage...what a task!

And for you that wondered how I (NSN) got in contact in the first place there was two major things:
1) Started with video talk (Seleene needing help finding the icon for Premiere ).
2) During the PA contract, mentioned in the video, BDCI was killing everything with minimal losses. Until one night when they encountered a corp they had just vaguely heard about, and got spanked good! (it's true)

Makes you question yourself about what you are getting out of Eve and aspire to get more than you thought was possible.
To the bored and disaffected with Eve, watch this vid and look for the answer within yourself to why you are having a hard time "having fun" in Eve.
There is a certain amount of "inspiration" in the MC concept. The idea that you can try something few would dare to and through hard work and organization see that concept bloom within the confines of Eve's free-form trade system.

I`m sorry, someone need to say that. I found it mostly boring. I`ll try to explain.
Most of veteran players have seen how apoc \ thorax \ <insert ship name> go poo, or how fighter flying around carrier. Its acceptable for short movies - lots of dynamic, flashy things, etc ("Why we do it" 4tw). But in your vid we are forced to watch this 80% of time, boring 
Music. Don`t know. Soundtracks from fils 4tw, ofc. But not when it 80% of time (again). Yes, few first minutes you feeling "omg, its great", but after 5 minutes you are thinking "wtf ?", and after 10 minutes you are just *yaaawn*.
I enjoyed end of movie. Its hard to pick words, to make ppl proud for their corp, their goals, and made non-MC players to think : "omg, MC, where i can leave an application". You did great job with that thingy.
My opinion : Definately one of the best non-combat video i`ve seen. Will show that to friends, who haven`t played EVE yet (mmm... I have friends, who haven`t played EVE ? ). Try to feed "omg its frag" players, like me, and vid will be ok - i`m talking about challenging fights.
P.S. All above - is my personall opinion. Oh... And yes, i`m biased about MC

Loxy's new vid makes up for it.
I seriously thought about closing with a Nightwish song, but decided against it in the end. My future vids will continue to keep the focus on story and narrative as that's what I enjoy. There's some great stuff on the way and I hear that Lowa has a half-finished project cooking as well...

You know the author, you've seen his past work, now watch a video that tells a story, a real story. The history of the MC, a place where we may all find ourselves a part of one day...

Hell of a good job on the video.. damn I like it!
We've tried to put stuff like a storyline in a video but we lost all our footage when the maker his comp crashed and his HD was broken.
We were lucky 1 of the vids was still intact and some footage other members made.

This was the best eve movie ive ever seen. It had a very interesting story, music that felt epic, great video editing and fights that really meant something. Still have shivers down my neck from it!

great vid but the collaps of the Fade was due to Kr0m and Death row right? because i sure remember going into Fade when i was in Kr0m and we killed there alliance not MC if i remember right.
over all Vid tho Great work and man i with i had a large HD to keep the old one too!

The collapse of Fade was due to then getting pounded on from all sides in 0.0. As a result, a lot of them ran into Empire. FRICK was contracted against a small corp called 'The Milleion Alliance' (sp?). Apparently, the FU leaders didn't understand the new CONCORD rules and when that corp joined Fade Union, damn near every ship from Nonni to Torrinos started flashing red. It was a giant buffet of targets for over a week until FU imploded and died.
FRICK / MC didn't do it single-handedly, but they sure as hell played a part in it.

All links on our board is currently not working.
Admin is run over by RL work and it will be fixed when time allows it.
Sorry for the trouble.
And tbh, its all your fault , the downloads and the hits is not decreasing
like it used to do, we are constantly hit so that either all bandwidth is taken
or the number of requests slows down the incoming router.
And with the server being on a company network its not acceptable.
A solution will be presented. Soon-ish.

dont normally watch many eve vids but was told to dl this one and i thought it was great. always had alot of respect for ur crew and ur one of the few that make me bolt for a safespot when i see local fill up. keep up the gd work and i hope i dont feature in a future vid getting my ship owned

Ps. its going to take me 6 hours to download the movies from the 2 other links on here.
