I had to delete the character, problem persists.
The program defaults to hiding untrained skills after installation. Try pressing [1] to show untrained skills.
I did a quick write up about the variuos functions above. --

Originally by: Carled Widar This application sounds great. I'm trying to install it on a SE P910i but keep getting an "Incompatible Java version" error when installing.
I don't think that the P910i supports CLDC-1.1, it only does CLDC-1.0.
Does the Java source rely on CLDC version 1.1 features? If not would you please try making available a version of the application set for CLDC-1.0.
Many thanks and keep up the good work.
There are only 1 or two functions that need CLDC 1.1, I'll look into building 2 versions for future releases. --

J2ME for the Palm http://java.sun.com/products/midp4palm/
Anyone gotten this to work on a Palm yet? I installed the J2ME, converted the app to a .prc and installed it all with no problems. But when I try to run it, I get the Java splash for a second, then it just quits. The little Worm program the converter tool came with works fine, so the J2ME seems to be OK.

Great looking app! Have installed it on my Nokia 6680, but I have a thick white bar across the bottom of the screen obscuring some of the information. Any ideas how I can get rid of this?
Looking forward to the ability to download XML data from My Character

I have Nokia 6630 and got this white bar at bottom too. (Wasn't in the first version)
My phone doesn't support loading XML data? Should the load show up in the main menu?

Nope. Can't get anything to work with J2ME on my Treo. Everything I try causes it to reset. I'm gonna keep trying, though.

Excellent app. If you'd like me to take a look at the source code I could give it a pass with the debuggers we have here in College ('course I'd keep the source if it were me ). They usually find things personal debuggers miss. 3 years of Java programming might finally pay off |

this is an awsome tool i have found a slight little problem its not completely accurate. im sure i set all my skills right and my points tally up but instant recall im training to lvl2 says 1h 32 mins and the phone application tells me 1h 16 mins
and if i look at learning lvl 5 its nearly 2 days out not sure if this is a slight miscalculation in the program but just thought i would make you aware.
im pretty sure its not me being a numpty though then again could be :)

ok i solved my problem still about 2 seconds out on the instant recall lvl 2 but i took intel down by 2 and memory down by 1 lvl and it seems pretty accurate even the level 5 learning skill is only a few seconds out which is cool so maybe the atributes are over effecting the skill time.

attribute ingame phone application Int 9 7 Mem 5 4 Per 14 13 Wil 7 7 Cha 8 8
this should help people set it up so it works pretty much accuratlynullnull

I'd love to be able to use this, but my Nokia will install the program but wont run it. The Open and Details are greyed out and only the delete is highlighted for me. Damn Java phones !!
btw, Nokia 3205 - CDMA based phone. Still supports Java programs though. ----------

It works now! Now just get us alarm (with option how many minutes before it should be given) and some sort of automatic character template loading. (As the XML loading it currently has doesn't work with all phones)

Jaabaa just a quick question not relating really to the program but in a way it is :S
Anyway have you thought of applying to CCP, the devs have said they are trying to develop a mobile version of EVE for PDA's, for things like checking skills, buying & selling on the market etc.
Just an idea, better yet CCP hire this man, and dont take no for an answer _______________________________________________

Excellent news
Originally by: Jameroz Now just get us alarm (with option how many minutes before it should be given)
I have already looked into this before and the alarm API for J2ME is probably one of the worst things to even try to write to.
I might have a look at the PIM API and see if I can automatically add an entry in the phone's calendar with an alarm.

I had a play with that just now, theoretically I could get the app to connect to EO boards and grab the XML from the server. I'll have to see if I can find a decent XML parser for it though if the phone doesn't come with one already installed. --

awesome. working great on sony/ericson w600i.
no load feature for xml, but im assuming thats because the phone doesnt support it.
still it was a sinch to set up, and after a small learning curve. it works great.
and thank you for making it in JME2, there still are not many really helpful apps for mobile unless you can afford a Treo or mini-winblows
thanks again, jaabaa. ill be sure to shoot some isk your way.

ATM it uses the XML API that some phones have but if I rewrite the XML processing to use a different parser then all the phone has to support is access to the file system.
I'll investigate this further. --

Another fine bit of programing Jaabaa!
Got it running a treat on my Nokia 6280, but no import XML option which is a shame. Not sure how/where on the phone you store the char data, but would it be possible to edit them on the PC to input skills and then transfer them back to the phone?
Or maybe have a PC app to convert the XML file into the correct format to be transfered to the phone?
Just a thought ;) --------------------------------

There is no way to do that, each phone type has it's own way of storing the data and that might even differ between software versions. --

I have problems with the skill times which should be exactly the same to the time showed in eve. with my attribute and implant settings the skill time on the java applet is different to the skill time in eve. I use skill planner ver 1.2.8 with a t-mobile sda and Java Runtime MIDP2.0 v10.1.2.51 Did i forget something?

The attributes must be you BASE attributes, without skills or implants applied. The effective values should be the same as your ingame character sheet information after you have setup the learning skills and added any implants you might have. --
