What's a V3 ?
My guess is that he is refering to a Motorola Razr v3. Same phone i'm using atm, his problem is thus the same as mine, this phone only supports CLDC version 1.0.
Any chance you will put some time into a 1.0 compliant version like you mentioned some post ago?

I saw this app and got immediately excited. I have 4 accounts and sometimes I just don't like running evemon on my office machine(it can be a bit of a resource hog). I think this program is great. I run it on a Samsung i730 Windows Mobile 2005 device. I have to use a java interpreter, but it works great.
I would be intrested in pushing this forward. I'm not a strong programmer, but I'm a good problem solver and I have a great interest in this functioning somewhat like evemon does for windows. Online update, multiple accounts/toons, etc...
Maybe someday, CCP will get around to making the eve client for ppc/palm so that we can chat, change skills, manage corp affairs, etc. Basically do everything but fly in space.
We shall see.

Great App, atleast something usefull to have in my JAVA list, besides this stupid games the mobile ships with...
Works great on my Samsung SGH-D600, but no File-Load.
Would be great if someone would develop this further and add an alarm-function to it... ________________________ Stuk@ |

Toaster, what do you use as a Java Interpreter. I'm running a PPC-6700 on WM5, and am having no luck. I get the .jar open in a JVM program and it immediately closes.

I can try taking a bite out of it for you.
Also about the V3, do note there's about 4 versions of the RAZR V3 from Motorola and only 3 support Java. V3 - supports java V3i - supports java V3im - supports java
Basically all the GSM versions support Java.
Now for the CDMA ones (none support java, except for some very specific carriers (Alltel is one) joy!), these all fell under Qualcomm's BREW racketeering
V3c - no java support V3m - no java support
the V3x is NOT a RAZR or a V3 for that matter, it's a rebranded V1150.
The MAXX (V6) coming out next year may have Java in it. Your signature is inappropriate. If you have any questions, email us at [email protected] Tirg

Any updates on this? Are you still maintaining the app? Is there a SF project or any other way to dig into the source?
I have been using the mobile skill planner in the past and would definitely love to see it continued, though I have no experience with J2ME (yet ;))

I'm interested in dipping my toes into J2ME (been developing in java for nearly 5 years now).
Let me know if you need a hand.
On a side note, I can't seem to get the download xml part of this working and since my character is nearing the big 40 I'd rather not manually enter all of it in ;)

Edited by: Rootor on 07/12/2006 16:57:52 I have quite a lot of J2ME experience and would be happy to help. I have so far been working on a clearer UI that could be useful, mimicking EveMon.
Here is a grab:
(This is not a mockup, but a screenshot from the application)
Please let me know how I can help, if you have a CVS set up etc.

For some reason I get an error that the compressed file is corrupted when I try to open the .zip file. :( I get the same error at work, so it's not just my machine unless I'm missing something else.

Your phone has to support JSR-75 (files) and JSR-172 (XML parser) for this to work. --

Thanks man, this is a brilliant little app! Keep up the good work. I noticed though that the Salvaging requirements have not been updated and still require Mechanic and Survey at 5.
Still though, brilliant app!

As a few others have requested an alarm of some kind would be nice - Also being able to download the xml directly from the app instead of manually transfering it to the phone would be top notch ;)
Keep up the good work.

You are more than welcome.

I am looking into the alarm stuff, It doesn't seem to be too hard to have the appliaction restart when the next skill (if you have more than one account) has completed.
Regarding grabbing the XML directly from eveo, I'm not sure how many people would feel comfortable with entering their account details into an appliaction that doesn't come from CCP.
With that being said, if I find the time I will be documenting and reorganizing the code and will publish it on SourceForge under the GPL, then I would be prepared to add code for grabbing the XML directly from eveo, and everyone can see that I'm not doing anything nasty with it.
On a side note, when I do finally get around to releasing it on SF, I will be able to provide an online installation location for the application too .
