Edited by: RedClaws on 06/05/2006 12:27:35 I agree with all 5 points and frankly the idea of people abusing such obvious exploits really discusts me.
Its a multiplayer game : if you want to cheat go play doom in godmode or something but not inhere since you're effecting the gameplay of everybody in the game.
If i find anybody using one of these exploits ,even in my own alliance, i will report them without a doubt!

Edited by: Malken on 06/05/2006 12:45:57 add a "system power down" timer of 60sec for those who log off.
and make interdictor spheres actually catch the ones who "log off" while cloaked, you be amazed how many that claims they disconnect when they see a interdictor sphere.
for the capital ship problem it is pretty easy. 1.shrink the cargo bay to more normal proportions 2.add a jump fuel cargo bay wich only can hold the fueltype that is required for that capital ship to jump.

5) Lack of a proper inter-gang locking system - This is the main reason why "healing" cannot be an effective role in eve. There are all sorts of remote modules in eve, from ECCM projectors, to remote armor reps and shield transfers etc. Many of these mods would be very useful in mid sized battles, but they can't be used properly for 2 main reasons. There is no easy mechanism to active these modules on friendly ships without accidentally shooting them. I'm sure some of you will think that a skilled pilot can avoid doing this, but that is NOT the case. In any medium sized fight, if you try to activate your weapons on a ship that is about to warp out, or a ship that is about to explode your guns will automatically activate on the next target you have locked. There is also no easy way to lock friendly targets unless you have them on your overview, which isn't a smart thing to do in a large fight. Solution Add a better mechanism for locking gang mates, and add a separate lock category for targets that you don't want to auto-switch back to when the primary target goes down.
I agree to some extend with this, but you have to consider that this has rather large consequences for balance. If you make it too easy to 'heal' other ships, it's very easy to end up with indestructible gangs and I'm not sure if that is a disirable thing.

Originally by: Admiral IceBlock 3 and 4 is hardly breaking the game in the same degree as other stuff like Instabookmarks, the unbalance between ship classes (hp and damage versus eachother) and overpowered ECM.
RA used the bag of holding to evacutate their stuff from JLO station. When they did it was lagging in 1v- because of the massive DB interaction as well.

Edited by: Shamis Orzoz on 06/05/2006 23:56:30 I think that the more people know about these game breaking tactics the sooner we'll see them fixed.
So here's a bump for my thread. Maybe someday even ccp will read it.

I would rather see them fix the drones. They still don't respond at times and often forget to use the mwd when going somewhere.
Or maybe review the standing system so you can set alliances to positive or negative without having to set individual corps within the alliance. And maybe increase the number of standings you can set. It would be awesome if you could see what standings you got just by looking at the avatar in local instead of having to check it with "show info".

CCP know about 4, and they can tell when you use it. Don't. They won't be happy with you.
Overall, the reason 2-4 haven't been fixed is most likey because they require a client side patch, same as many other bugs, such as the one where you can't build a carrier inside a factory outpost. CCP never has and never will release client side patches just to fix a few select bugs, due to the QA time involved. The only exception would be duping or other such MAJOR game breaking bugs. Yeah, 3 and 4 are lame, but they're a) limited to a very small percentage of the eve population, and b) aren't going to ruin the economy or some such overnight.
As for 1, CCP will likely never change that, because it is to prevent against people getting ganked when they CTD on session change. The server can't tell the difference between an honest CTD and somebody yanking the plug from their wall, so I doubt CCP is ever going to change that.

Quote: SOLUTION: Adapt you meatheads.
Why is it if you guys can't get an easykill in 0.0 you think its a complete unbalance. I'm willing to bet 80% of Eve doesn't even have the skills, assets, or environments to even utilize any of those "whines".
Its your own peers in 0.0 making due on what the game mechanics allow. Btw... it IS called a "CARRIER".
Change nothing... all is fine.
Righhhhttt....so we shouldn't try to get gamebreaking bugs fixed asap? In that case lets put the bug back in that let you get a 500 damage mod and a .2 sec rate of fire on deimos blasters. I loved that one. Nothing like watching faction battleships with HUGE tanks almost poof in under 2 seconds.
Good post Shamis. Gotta agree on all points. And while Lorth does have a pertinent observation about gang mods not being usefull enough, I would tend to think that if they UI gave them a bit more useability that it would at least be a good start.

Agreed, and I really like #4.
Have locking a gang mate a Green lock and a non-gang member a red lock.
Only weapons can fire on red locks, only "healing" and assist modules can activate on green locks.
This would also serve to prevent you from boosting an enemy instead of a gang mate

those skiffs cost about 2 billion - and then if the carrier gets bumped or pwned, thats an expensive ship brother.... its fine.
You'll make enough isk to cover the skiffs and the carrier in 3 days if you run miz's 0.0 trade run, and there will be ZERO risk of you dying.
Lol, ur just bitter because it was YOUR corps trade route i stole, futhermore the reason i beat you to the sell orders everyday is because i get up in the middle of the night to create my sell orders just before DT and u lot dont have the comitment to do that. If the skiff method is removed ill just do what YOU guys do and run it in a dread with xpanders. Lol, last week you tried to tell the alliance i was at war with my location to get me run out of area, to no avail. Get some skils, stop trying to use other alliances and devs to do what you should be doing yourselves. Gutless nubs.

Yes, it would be a shame for ccp to slow you down. You make what, 2 bil a day off of #3? That's well over $100,000 USD a year if you convert it to time cards.
Futhermore, unlike some people i keep all the ISK i make, and dont have to EBAY it to feed my kids, foundless acusations like this can easily by checked on my GM's, get ur facts right sunshine.

The fact that I have to relog on average 4 times every 10 minutes whilst doing the above route due to the ships in carrier ship maintenance bug points towards a REAL AND GENUINE bug that requires attention ! REAL AND GENUINE

lol, I never contacted another alliance about you. I know there is ABSOLUTELY NO WAY to kill your carrier. 100% risk free.
And I never used a dread for that run. I did it the old fashioned way, with a freighter, and I haven't even logged it out to avoid combat...

Hey Altai - nothing in the op other than the infinite cargo hold is an exploit, get a clue...
