"BIG Games Extra" & "BIG Games Help" are the two extra channels we've set up (due to the limit of 50 on the original channel - Which we can not change...)
They will be manned in due time.
And we hope to get someone into the "BIG Games" channel as well - To tell ppl to bugger of to one of the other channels
And likewise to keep spamming "BIG Games" regularly about the presense of the other channels.

Ok.. I obviously missed something when it comes to this "lottery".
I come into the channel, and I find the Big Lottery char talking about the alphabet, picking number ranges, then a count down, and then everyone in the channel starts spamming numbers.
WTH is going on?
I thought this was a lottery, where each "ticket" was assigned a number, and we'd be seeing the results of the random number generator picking prizes. I've been over the IGB web site 3 times and it doesn't tell me anything about this .. whatever is takeing place in the chat channel.
Someone have a link to WTH is going on? this can't be a scam from the length of time it's been running, so I obviously musta missed something. Anyone provide a link to what I'm missing?

thanks.. odd. Guess I was looking for something simpler.. didn't think there would be that much theatrics to it. I figured you'd come into the channel.. see them start at the bottom with a program randomly giveing out a number, and that'd be the winner of the "cheapest" prize and they'd work up.. Ahh well. Guess I'll have to wait till tommorrow for the results.

I'm a bit confused about what's going on in the channel too, is there still going to be a lottery or are all the prizes being given away through this new "drawing" math guessing game thing? __________ Member of The Raven Warriors Stain- Alliance Fighter Spreading the word of Enlightenment with the grace of God and Empire. The math guessing game is apparently the way to generate the random number used to pick each prize's winner. Guess they do it that way to entertain.

The way they're drawing it is pathetic. You can't win unless your ticket number is at least 5 million.

Ya know, I can understand them not wanting to give away all the prizes in 5 minutes, but at the rate they are going, it'll take about 6 hours to give away all the prizes.
And as already pointed out, the system is crap. Only the people with middle-ish numbers are going to win. Guess I won't win squat as I didn't get entered until late Saturday - early Sunday so my numbers are all near the end.

The reason we use the modulous method is it's very hard to predict the outcome of the draw, making it hard to mess with the system.
Yes it takes a bit, but we try very very hard to make this fair and accurate.
please excuse the time it's taking, there are alot of prizes!

With the ranges you're using, people with ticket numbers not in the high millions can't win. At all.

The sum of the numbers is divided by the number of tickets and the remainder is the actual ticket that won. (modulus) If the range the numbers are being chosen from is significantly larger than the number of tickets, that's a decent way to do it. (It is also better if no one guessing numbers knows the total number sold. I'm not familiar enough with the lottery process to know if this is the case.)
There are better ways of getting random numbers, but they would make it impossible for people to observe a public display of how the number was picked.

4 numbers, being picked from between 15 and 25 mil, if I remember correctly. This gives a total of between 60000000 and 100000000. Your assessment is that you have 11,293,002 tickets in this lottery.
So - 60000000 would equate to a win for ticket number - 3534990 (also, highly unlikely, but that's into really complex game theory territory) Every 11293002 up from that will be a win for the same ticket, so... 71293002, 82586004, 93879006 <- these three are also a win for that ticket, giving it a total of 4 chances.
Now, let's see what happens to the person who /would/ get picked by 59999999, if that were possible given your ranges. (Ticket number 3534989) Winning numbers would be: 59999999 (not possible), 71293001, 82586003, 93879005. This person has only 3 winning chances.
Therefore, you are in violation of your statement that a person with 2 tickets has twice the chance to win of a person with 1 ticket, because the chance a person has of winning depends significantly on the number ranges you elect to use, and the number of their ticket(s).
