Wow, thats amazing. I have to say thats already a huge improvement. I mean the amount of detail in the scorpion and apoc compared to what we have now is incredible. They truly look alot more menacing. All the ships i saw look so much more better. I cant wait to see the rest of them!
Imagine what all this will look like once they start updated space and planets to coincide with the ship updates........oh yeah!

Hmm having seen all the new screens, rather miffed about the new Scorpion. Hope she's just some sort of early testbed for the new engine and final version is entirely different... because she definitely doesn't show 'million of polygons' kind of detail used for a normal map, and these weird windows all over her... the old Scorpion looks better, actually. The new is almost like done with watercolours :<

I'm just plain SHOCKED.
I can't begin to express how thrilled I am at these improvements...they didn't just rework the skins, they COMPLETELY redid the wireframes...some of the ships barely even resemble the old versions (Scorpion, Megathron)!

/me is drooling at the prospect of seeing all the ships in eve look that shiny... and has suddenly been struck with the thought that the minmatar bs concept he's wanted for ages might just make it into the game after seeing that abaddon

Exactly. The windows on the new scorp ruin the whole feel, they look like they're stickers that have been applied over the top of the metal. Get rid of about 50% of them and give them some depth please.

These are works in progress. It's not final stuff, just stuff we're showing to the press (and you all of course) to illustrate the new level of detail. The creative director has even made some changes to the ships in the last few hours here in the booth at E3.

I think the most important thing about the megathron is that the new version is armed, whereas the old version is not.

Please pass on our sentiments that more symmetry is always welcomed :)
The new Megathron design is a million times more menacing than the orignal. much more organic looking, similar to the Brutix. I hope all the faction ships get facelifts as well. What is going to differentiate my Vindicator from my Mega? :)

I for one are very pleased with what I have seen, most ships needed an up to date skin job and now ccp is working on that , thats just great news.
I am not worried that my computer will not be able to handle the new graphics, I can run other modern games just fine so eve will not be an exception.
I hope in time stations and celestial objects will get their turn as well.

that new apoc actually loks nig and bad ass, i think it loks pretty stunning.
on the other hand, the scorp now looks out of focus , and the kid that built ti got the window stickers slightly in the wrong place
but, the new graphics do look pretty awsome

Though the graphs are nice, i feel that the mega and the scorp have less of a gallente and caldari feel with the ''killer'' looks and the black paint.
I feel that mega would be nice for a new vindicator though.
