I'm beginning to think the Gecko is "real" (i.e. hybrid fighter/drone.) The Giving Drones an Assist dev blog specifically mentions Guristas faction mods for drones. We have the Guristas super drones concept in the summer pirate ships overhaul. CCP Explorer just stated that Omni's moving to a 30 second cycle was for performance reasons. Then we have the "void" in ship classes. Etc.
So if CCP is overhauling and otherwise paying so much attention to Guristas and drones, we very well may see some kind of pirate sub-cap combat carrier based on "heavy drones" instead of current paradigm of RR capital carriers with fighters and/or sentries.
And I'll go out on a limb and say that if this "pocket carrier" is successful, they'll expand it to the Empires as one step along the road to "fixing" caps/super-caps.
Also, since pretty much every "ship" type game is based on WWII ship classes, CCP has probably realized that a carrier sub-cap ship available to the masses (err pubbies) would be a hit.

I was implying that the Sleepers are going to use these super-drones against the Empires/Jove via the Guristas. Especially given how manipulative that sleeper super-AI thingie is.

since I've joined eve 3 skills got split into number of new ones...
Destroyer (got to 5 before change) \ BC (only got that one to 4) and now combat drone operation (got that to V) so I get free skill points who cares ? :P
