Amarr is prolly the best balanced race of all.
Lasers have intergrated damage bonus so BS dont need another damage bonus No ammo required, only cap Armor tankers to the bone (more cap efficient) The 2 most versatile HACs of all Frigs that can do nearly everything be it mining, pvp or npc¦ing Not to mention the Faction versions of amarr ships like nightmare, bhaalgorn or even the succubus are ships that dont need nerfing or boosting cuz they are all fine as they are.
You should be happy to have chosen amarr.

Isn't the title of this thread "Why choose Amarr race?" I'm missing where the ship has to do with the race. I must be slow. Can't any race fly any ship with the right training? So ...what were we talking about again? I'm confused.

the only downside i can think of about Amarr is their damage types - they do GREAT damage, but you're strictly limited to EM and Thermal. this SERIOUSLY reduces their effectiveness vs any armor tanks, and since all but caldari armor tank, they're a bit under-par. Tach apoc vs Rail mega - mega will win every time :(

Maybe it is just me, but to me it seems that giving one race 32% more DoT out to about 190km than the next best non-Amarr sniper is not completely balanced... Even the current 25% is a bit iffy. (3-damage mod 'geddon vs 4-damage mod Megathron - Mega does have one more low slot free, but nothing it can fit there really helps.)
We may be able to hit out to 190km. But we need to use Aurora ammo & T2 weapons for that. And it isn't that great damage-wise compaired to other long range ammo. We get a serious damage reduction over range that other races don't. Also don't forget that Amarr ships don't really excel in close range combat (battleship-wise anyways), since Megapulse really have trouble hitting at closer than 15-20km, whereas other races have no problems with their short range turrets (launchers don't have that problem).
It balances out just fine.

Though with that said, the work best is subjecive, since any ship can be "best" if you change the paramiters. But overall, Amarr is a good race for a generalist.
I would disagree on 5 and 6, best antihack 1v1 is ishtar, and best PvE for uber spawns in thantos

Gallente outdamges amarr, gallente has higher range than amarr, gallente has better drone bay than amarr. Gallente got to much love in the last patches with the new ships having more med slots for EW, while amarr have been nerfed since they boosted EM and droped Thermal on lasers, the minmatar laughs in your face when they fly T2 ships with 95% EM rezistance and 80% Thermal and amarr has stupid bonuses on battleships like 10% capacitor use and 5% more capacitor unlike the megatron let's say that got 5% damage and 5% tracking. (more tracking now since the tracking was also boosted). _________________________________

Yes and while the amarr get that built-in 5% damage bonus to their lasers and actually out-damage the gallente (arma) or come very close (apoc), the gallente do not get a built in 5% capacitor use bonus to their guns.
And we can go on for weeks like this.
And the end of the day the fact remains that the amarr pertty much rule hte upper short range up and untill the long range with their good tracking, good damage, fast switching turrets on the apoc, and the same plus another damage bonus with their armageddon. They also get improved tanking abilities, more hitpoints, and less need for extreme skill levels in their gunnery specialisation to do maximum damage (apoc).
The gallente get a damage type thats preferable over em (kinetic), slightly more drones (that are useless at anything but pve and short range combat even now), but deal with the same issue of their counter-race having high resist against their primary damage types. they also suck worse at short range, do about evenish as long and slightly better at extremely long range.
All in all that's decently balanced imo, if it weren't for the armageddon with its rof bonus that screws things up nicely in the BS class.
Since that mostly affects the short-medium range the boosts to blaster use for gallente is very much in place, as are the tracking bonus increases since they did less then even the playing field in tracking even at lvl 5 skill compared to the amarr.
Can we now stop the useless argument, all turret using races get one or mroe boosts this patch, and those that need it the most (typhoon excepted) are the ones that get improved the most.

sorry, not true. the same skills for tech2 weapons as all other races by less damage output on laserturrets.
just a fact: the weakest NPCs and the easiest to tank NPCs and easiest to destroy NPCs are Amarr ship class NPCs. every missionrunner agree on that.

I'm able to use both gallente and amarr HACs, and i've got an ishtar... somewhere... I only use it when I really need the extra med slots.
