I also remember podding Lola back to empire space in some wierd bug near the Drugs Runs (unsure as to whether it counted as a podding or not though as she still appeared in empire in her ship).
To all people *****ing about eve, be glad it ain't beta 4. 1 bug meant u had to relog after every jump at 5 minutes a go, we had one region and skills did squat.

Since beta 5, and alot of my corp mates are from beta to. I think we lost about 10 people from beta...

How about beta 4/5 transition, where there was a bug that didnt let you open cargoholds :)

I was only in for a few weeks at the end of Beta. Same name (sort of, someone took the good spelling) and same picture. Or as close as I could get at least.
A couple days ago I was remembering with fondness back in beta when me and a couple corpmates would mine gneiss in a 0.4 system in a navitas, imicus and atron.

I started in Beta 1 here. Boy, those were buggy days. Days when men were men, women were women, and Bistot roids were a dime a dozen since you had no place to sell them.

They didn't add auto-pilot until a ways into beta. In every beta the universe would get bigger (and you'd have to actually EXPLORE the universe to see what was there, since the map didn't work! That was actually really fun! They should have left it that way.) Once the universe got to around 30 systems I remember wondering what the hell they were thinking having 5,000 systems...
So simple was I. Anyone remember the Scrap Heap bug where items kept spawning in it forever and ever?

i remeber sitting in front of the map screen trying to plot my route by the show route option. having an a4 pad with system after system listed just so i could do those 67 jumps as there was no high ways.
god they were hardcore times.

yeah arc i remeber thinking wow this place seems huge its great and after like 3 weeks it was like WE WANT AUTO PILOT!!!
but nothing can beat the ARKNOR refines of 50 units and m3 was only 1 the probe used to be the l33t minning ship strip mine whole belts. :P

The general comment was:
"Next we'll have auto fight button, and auto mine buttons, do you want EVERYTHING done for you?"
Oh and it was activated by typing /autopilot on in local, didn't get a big yellow button for another patch or so!

Hi Archon!
Was in beta and Omega Corp under the name WindSpirit. Still just puttering around as a freelancer waiting for the game to arrive.
Won't be here much longer though. Starting a clan (Age of Judgement) with another in Dragon Empires (British Developer Codemasters). PvP, persistent player market with complex items, Automated mining! Clan controlled cities, Expanded beta soon. Choice to be in PvP or "civilian" mode but if you want to gain or keep a city you must earn your Dragon's favor by PvP activities. Clan gains tax money from all trades in its city to pay for PvP. Skill based characters with most skills gained from quests or killing (not macro friendly).

Umm... wasn't it /cmd autopilot on ?
And yes... I remember people complaining about it too... ha! And to think people are now hoping for autopilot to be improved so that afterburners and mwarps are automatically turned on too.
