Got in around the tail end of Beta 4 as well, but not exactly sure when that was. I seem to suffer from the same memory lapse that has befallen many of the other participants of EVE's Alpha / Beta phases.
The only fun bit I recalled about Beta was rushing to the IRC channel whenever a node crashed. And watching everyone replying 'BOOM' on the test channel. 
One other thing, I tried looking for some old corp mates from the old Starfire Industries but I think Starfire's now a non-English speaking corp. I tried looking for others who might have used their old names but to no avail. If any of the players from the old Starfire are still around, please EVE-mail "Krafe". Rela's just a character name I used during beta and thought that it would be familar to them.

Late Beta 6 for me.
I remember seeing casino & stockmarket buttons in stations (a week before armageddon day) and thinking "wow" this will be cool..

NO NPC pirates (they got in so not every noob mine high roids)
ONLY 1 cruiser lev 1 for every race
NO indastrial ship!!! haule bistot in imicus!!!
no highway systems... and the UI was on the top of the screen
i want all npc pirates to go away...
all the noobs will go mine bistot and pirates can kill them

I got an invite to Beta 7 two weeks before launch. Didn't have time to take part very much because things went mad at work.
Didn't take part in Armagedon 'cause I figured there wouldn't be alot of point in playing retail if there was nothing new to experience.

yep I remember Beta!!! running around in Uoyonen...when it had bistot and all the good stuff...back in the day when Obe was a deadend system. like 4 months before end game
