*prebattle* The SA force intercepted a convoy in route to CA forces and grabbed about 25 blueprints including MEGA BEAM LAZER, TACYON HEAVY LAZER, 1400mm HOWITZER, and expensive ammo up to EMP large, Multifreq Large and cataclysm cruise missle.
An SA scout found CA forces in Vol in a defensive position with drones deployed. They destroyed the scout but not before he got a subspace message to the SA high command. Acting quickly the SA command their main task force to a neighboring system.
*Battle of Yol* Jumping together the entire SA task force plunged into the CA battlegroup head on.
Jammers activated as soon as the force came out of warp and the ships were disabled for a few seconds.
The first casulty was a Blackbird, destroyed before their computers came back on line after warp.
Only 1 minute into fight about 10 CA battleships mysteriously appeared at the battle. Apparently they were cloaked. (logged off).
Confused from the battle, many SA began to fire on each other. SA commanders quickly gained control of the force, focusing fire on one ship at a time.
5 minutes into the fight SA reserves warped into the fight.
6 minutes into fight the SA flagship was destroyed and the SA forces retreated and rallied at Yol 5.
1 minutes later. Responding to destress calls from stranded forces, the SA fleet warped to the ARG gate and re-engaged CA forces.
8 minutes after the fight began, the SA fleet scattered.
Losses overall according to map: 20 SA losses counted: 4 battleships 3 cruisers CA losses counted: 2 battleships 1 cruiser
Losses are still being tallyed and may not be accuate for some time. The stats will be posted as soon as we know.
**** a gm was present at the fight and will be counting losses as well. |

Edited by: Shara El on 23/09/2003 07:56:19 according to the map 20 ships were destroyed. you only have 15 listed, looks like you should count again.
I don't doubt that CA forces lost less, but i don't think we should jump the gun on the counts. Lets hear what the gm quotes first.
Please take into consideration our forces were jumping into theirs. They already had their drones out and were on top of the jump in area. We we so lagged at first that we were damaged before our magnetic fields were realigned. Also, you had ships logged off hiding your numbers. Very cleaver but pretty shadey. All in all I think both sides fought hard. It will not be the last battle, I assure you.

Sounds like a lot of fun! I can't wait until I'm not a total softie and can actually participate in some large scale combat like this.
Incidentally it's good to see people are making the best of a bad situation and still having fun despite the major problems going on in the game right now.

Excellent report of the battle.
Nice to see some corps putting their money where there mouth is.
I'm a bit of a carebear myself but I like to hear about other people getting hurt. Kinda ghoulish I suppose.

First of all, the battle was in Curse...not in Stain. You attacked us.
Secondly, there was no convoy that was intercepted.
Curse was also outnumbered nearly 2 to 1. We lost 1 battleship, and 1 cruiser. Stain lost at least 7 battleships, and 5 cruisers.

Edited by: Civil Deity on 23/09/2003 08:34:15 Most of that was accurate. We did shoot down a convoy carring many blueprints. It is still unknown as to which alliance his allegiance lays, however he was in curse and our orders were to destroy any and all ships we came across.
As for the battle. It is true, we had about 17 ships in our fleet, about 11 b-ships and 6 support eware crusiers. We were watching the map and their force seemed to be dwindling, when it hit about the 10 mark we gave the order to warp in.
People in charge of SA's force. Civil Justice and Specter. CEO of Everlasting Vendetta and Omega.
Our forces warped in split like ~8 in the fight 8 out of the fight. Blows were immediately exchanged dispite the heavy lag from mines, drones (including mining drones), cargo containers titled (come and get some lag *****) and more. The tide was already in CA's favor as our forces scrambled to get in the fight. Then just as it appeared SA was about to take the upper hand, multiple CA people started logging on. The battle tiped in favor of both sides too many times to count. When the dust settled CA did come out on top.
So far my count is 4 confirmed b-ship losses (3 personal from EV) and about 1-3 more suspected. I know we shot down more then the enemy will ever claim as 20 ships destroyed aren't adding up with our numbers.
On a personal note this was soooooo much fun. We knew we would endure HEAVY LAG and i asked my boys, "We're gonna take losses, We're gonna face lag, anybody wanna say no" Not one person voted not to go. SA may have lost this fight but it was a moral victory and all of our b-ship losses have already been replaced.
My hats off to the CA, nice fight, my challenge and question to you is do you have the balls to attack us next time when we're in a fortified position? Because earlier in the day your forces had the opportunity and logged off, which lead to our offencive push.
All of this information is 100% true to the best of my side of the story. I do not lie or embellish these facts as I feel the public has a right to know.
Oh i forgot to mention. SA made sure a GM was present to watch first hand the lag that mines, drones and cargo containers create on this kind of stuff. I hope that CCP learned a lot from this large scale battle and look forward to more in the future.
Sincerely,
Civil Deity

You do forget that at that time the server was going to reboot in 20 mins time. CCP's 20min is anyones guess so we decided not to engage.

I can verify that that convoy did not belong to CA because I talked to the CEO of the corp that lost it. It was some non-allied corp that just got caught in the middle, I'm sad to say.
By the way SA, let me know ahead of time you guys are going to attack us so I don't get caught behind your main forces and have to attack your reinforcements

"You guys did have 5+ log in so you evened out the tied plus u were in a fortified position. As for me lying I never lie. While I trust and respect all my fellow Allaince members I am not speaking for them. *I* Civil Deity will never lie on these forums and I represent Everlasting Vendetta as a trustworth and respectable corp. Take my words as truth or not, I know in my heart what happened. If you guys did lose that few b-ships then good for you, defence definately gets a HUUUUUUUUGE advantage in this game right now and my corporation personally came with not even a 10th of our maximum power. It was fun, you guys won the feild tongiht we'll win the feild next time and we'll win the war. Good day in eve indeed. "
Ok, you may not lie, but you are wrong. Not ONE pilot on our side logged off and back on. The pilots that came in as reinforcments were just that. They came in from behind and helped us finish off the battle. BTW, do you think the 13 ppl that crushed you are all we can field?
BTW, why didnt you (Polaris guy) lock this thread and leave the other one go? If its because this one was first, fine but it begins with outrageous lies.

I was sittin in the field dude. I heard the big boom looked up and saw at least 3 different people from sinister log in after the battle had started. It was either a login or a jump in from another system but it wasn't a warp, you guys got re-enforcments from somewhere. But its all good; technicalities who cares :) We had so much fun! Hope to see ya again soon. Civil Deity

Dude get over yourself. I know you are bitter that you lost your scorpion but just walk away. People can view the same event from different angles, present opposite views and be 100% right. That is how it has always been.

Must be a bit odd get Finished off by a sole Blackbird. :)
I wonder, perhaps you can tell me. Did you get podded? And if so was it from the splash damage?
Good Fight Indeed.
I lost my ship via FF unfortunaly. Right after the Enemy Scorp blew up.

Edited by: Majin Buu on 23/09/2003 10:33:41 ive just been told that the polaris member appeared after the battle had been fought, but that doesnt change the fact that CC's were used as a cheat/exploit to lag out other ships as they came out of warp. If u want to see the pics that look as this:

As i live in the UK i was'nt around for the battle, tho i must have missed it by just a short time, as i logged around 4am.
I can assure you the containers that were there present during the battle were not there for the purpose of laggin the SA as they jumped in. There was no talk of ever trying to get an unfair/exploited advantage over the SA in our gang chat, other then having the advantage of being prepared.
I've heard from corp members it was an excelent battle, damn shame i was'nt there :(

I guess the Apoc that did the damage wasnt really there was it? In fact we got Crimsonjade's corpse from it. I have the Concord msg that says she killed my ship you liar. Your pathetic missles didnt even hurt me. You are lucky that my FoF cruise missles were already spent killing battleships. Also, you are the same guy that ran from an IBIS, LOL. Eve II got some nice screeny's of you. BTW, it was Miz ship that killed your Blackbird. But, if you guys want to pretend that you are so incompetent as to kill you own guys, its fine with me.
I use to have respect for you guys. Sadly, it is fading due to your lies and whinnng. I have a copy of the local channel where all you guys did was complain to the GM (you requested) and he was unmoved. Then you flee to the forums and proceed to lie. I did infact lose my Scorpion (our only battleship loss ). But, my insurance more than covered it.
I do thank SA for the fun though. I was rather impressed that they infact did attack us. But, the lies and whinning are going to tarnish your image IMHO.
Please stop saying we had people logged off and that they came back on. OMG, is that the best you can do? Honestly, the only other guys we had were coming up from HED-GP and they were a nice addition. Basically, your 2:1 advantage wasnt enough for you. I really liked watching your cowards warp away and leave your allies to die against inferior numbers.
Congradulations, you have once again made Col. Custer proud.
Also, I would like to thank Eve Guardian for an accurate reporting of the battle on their site. If you havent seen itClick Here.

Ill be rather ammussing to have me post the screen shot of my journal that says i recieved a bounty for kill you..
Next time I log in, I make sure i get a screenshot just for you. As eve ii's shots.. I would be stupid to have stuck around in a pod.. So I warp away, bought a new ship, and flew home without insident.
