. Good luck getting that to make any kind of sense. "You better pay me 10M for your PVP permit otherwise I'll STOP MINING." "Okay. Can I have your stuff?" What exactly do you think you do when you go to jita and replace pvp ships ? How many miners do you think would go along with this scheme? Answer: Not enough to make one bit of difference. But if you want to go ahead and try your "pvp permit" idea, by all means go ahead. Just don't be surprised when you're met with laughter and soon thereafter find yourself in a pod. You'll soon realize that the vast majority of miners aren't going to care - their only interest is their own wallet. where do i find asteroids that yield whole ships instead of ore?
because miners don't make ships, miners 'produce' ore. any sensible ship producer doesn't mine, they do anything but mine since mining is the slowest way to obtain minerals used to build ships. |

Updated OP with today's standings:
The event is 7 days long. As of the upcoming downtime, 6! of those days will have passed.
The Math: 100 (Percent) / 7 (days) = 14.29 (percent per day) 14.29 * 6 = 85.74% is needed after 6 days to be "on track" (Not taking increased weekend activity into account)
According to the event page:
- Ore: DONE! Good job Miners! \o/ We all get 2 more Gecko's from this section!
- Science and Industry: Should make it, they're about square on target. Keep up those indutry jobs! I'd hate to have a dip happen on Monday and cause us to fall short
- NPC Bounties: Both Bounties and ISK Destoryed need some serious help
- ISK Destroyed: Both Bounties and ISK Destoryed need some serious help
It's really looking like neither Bounties or Isk Destroyed are going to make it, Short of some seriously dedicated player actions. |

I think there is a lot of isk destroyed that isn't being counted... and it is all being counted at some undervalued rate rather than average market value like it should be. Take the ships, rigs, mods, and implants into account at market value when they are destroyed and you'd end up with a much closer number to the goal I think. |

So guess CCP's bribes to get player activity up, over the Mother's Day weekend of all times (North America, that is).
Whatever. How much are Gecko's worth now? 22 million, and dropping?
Am I going to turn my game upside down for a couple hundred million ISK? Forget it. If I am going to be online to drive the PCU higher, it will be on my own terms.
And given the slavish desire CCP has to protect the null sec cartel gaming experience by wiping drones off the field to keep TiDI down, how long before the Gecko and other superheavies are an item that will be incorporated into normal industry, and players will be able to make them?
The main construct of a blueprint is in the game. CCP just has to fill in some blanks on it and give it some mineral values. Most people viewed Orwell's writings as a warning. The harper regime and the goons treat them as a guidebook. |

it's quite obviously something cool that they decided to do for eve's 11th birthday, that was never a secret. there's no hidden agenda to increase the player count in a weekend holiday that only affects 1 country. |

See, if you remove the tinfoil, you get a fairly good post, and one I can actually agree with. Everything in game should be made by players, and everything made by players should be able to go BOOM. Is it really worth peoples bother now that we know they're going to be heavily nerfed in Kronos? Originally many were very excited about the Geckos, but now it's just a resounding 'meh'. |

It's actually quite a large number of countries, some of them rather populous: ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mothers_day#Dates_around_the_world ) I'd guestimate this affects 85%+ of eve players. Not the drone itself but drone interfacing is going from 20%/level to 10% a level to make it not so mandatory to train to V.
Every other drone in the game is getting a 33% boost to base damage to compensate, except the gecko, it already has its final Kronos expansion stats.
So the drone will indeed to 25% less damage after the Kronos patch. That awkward moment at the Gentlemen's Club when you see your sister on the stage....and you're not sure where to put the money.... |

Isn't it what ALL THIS GAME ABOUT? After all if miners (who ACTIVELY not playing the game) can make it why can't REAL PLAYERS? Because mining is the lowest hanging fruit in the game? Oh, and it can and most often is botted? Massive Titan battles are a little bit higher up. And you can't exactly bot them.
someone obviously didn't watch the security keynote from fanfest
to save you the time, i'll give you a brief recap
Mining Ships banned for botting 2k Battleships banned for botting 3k titans repossessed (im guessing for rmt) 6
but it was the nice little graph ... where Ratting Accounts were at least 4x more prevalent than Mining Accounts on the Accounts Banned column
Poor little nul-sec drone, being told to spout such inaccurate factless drivel. It's a shame CCP released info that disagrees with the most common bit of nul-sec propaganda, or people might confuse that propaganda with facts.
I still wonder which Alliance was #1 though ... is a shame CCP won't release that data .....I know, I'll make some vague conspiracy rumour mongering type hypothesis
lets see ... 1 alliance had the highest proportion of banned accounts due to RMT & Botting goons is the largest alliance
see how it works ... no facts, just supposition, and spurious connectivity with random given data. |
