Those were amazing highlights, but stuff blows up constantly, and as the progress on this contest proves being that we lack that epic battle, it does so at a pretty good rate. |

We tried. Too many risk-averse people who don't fly expensive ships and run away as soon as a stranger enters local. Calamitous Intent fought the hell out of us, though... always a good day when SMERG and 7-2 pile into the same system, together.... sadly, it wasn't enough :(
You could also say that CCP set the bar too high for bounties and ISK destroyed..... I'm going to go with that one... That moment when you realize the crazy lady with all the cats was right... |

How does that even matter? If it was 25bil it would have been done in a day. But please, let the anti miner rage flow on. I'll just be over here making money from nullsec mining and production. |

All I see is miners who think that the fact that they reached their goal and that PVP didn't means that there are more miners. What it really most likely means is that miners are mining at a slightly higher rate than expected (the expected value probably being a server-wide average over the past year or so), whereas PVP is currently happening at a lower rate than expected (the expected value again being a server-wide average).
In other words, there's roughly as much mining as average, which is to be expected, and there's somewhat less PVP than average, also to be expected as there are active and quiet periods. "Pretty much all 14 of the CSM were in favor of a drone assign nerf for OBVIOUS gameplay reasons" - Sala Cameron

or alternatively, they were just random arbitrary numbers and reaching/not reaching goals has nothing to do with activity! |

They obviously weren't random or arbitrary otherwise some of them would have hit the goal extremely early and others would have come nowhere close. There were specific criteria for picking those numbers, we just don't know what they were. The problem is that I earned 500m bounties over the last 3 days, and yanked 1.4b of loot. So the exercise picks up 100% of mining output, but is actually all about an inefficient attribute of being a pve combat pilot and represents less than 30% of my economic output, even if yes, most of my time was spent shooting rats, and I only spent a couple of hours in minprofs.

The goal were most likely based on actual activity in the areas measured. Adding to that the isk earned from non-bounties like LP or loot is not only probably prohibitively difficult to track, but also about as fair as counting the volume of processed minerals on top of the raw ore.
The goal was intended to focus on the act of shooting red crosses itself, much like the mining one was focused on munching rocks. |

if memory serves, around 80% of the first target. not entirely sure, though. |

Bounties, ISK Destroyed == ISK Value Indy Jobs == Number of Jobs Ore Mined == VOLUME of ore. One of the bitter points of a good bittervet is the realisation that all those SP don't really do much, and that the newbie is having much more fun with what little he has. - Tippia |
