Balckhole Bob, what are you up to? Your sig states that you all your accounts are cancelled, and you are leaving on the 1st of June. Even you Character title states "Deleted by CCP". Whats happened?
I love listening to you and Acix Reborn on Eve NN (haven't listened to the latest podcast, maybe the explanantion is there?) and I for one will be sorry to see you go. Your contributions to the Eve community will be missed.

Last saturday's EVE-NN.com podcast has been pretty good. There was the Interloper as a special guest, and the first part was about the current changes on the political map.
Loads of fun actually.
Dunno. I think there wasn't a reason to get banned at EVE-NN.com last saturday.
I have an idea, but writing it down here would be a bit like discussing moderation and I already got a warning for something like that - If that'd been a warning. At least it sounded a bit like one but the word warning was not included in the email so I better shut up about it now.

I don't think that he has been actually deleted by CCP. It lloks like something really got his goat, and is now heading for early retirement from Eve. I don't think that CCP has actually acted directly against him, but this is pure supposition. Hence my post to find out whats going on.

Very strange. I met the guy in Vegas at the Gathering he helped set up. Must have been a really BIG issue in RL or with CCP that caused him to want to leave. Hmmm...

The evegathering.com site had a very different message 2 days ago. It was one angry rant vs the volunteer staff from EVE. Like... seriously angry. As to the story behind it nothing was said but one can guess.

evegathering.com was a page of abuse and swearing directed at ccp before he changed it again. Frankly good riddance imo, never understood that guy. Attention seeking, arrogant, ****ing off eve radio and etc...

Yes, I remember when the head of EVE-radio went up the palm trees (faster and further than anyone else I've seen - and not only on that one occasion) when people pointed out they don't like google ads for Isk sellers. But I don't think that's been the reason why Blackhole Bob disappeared.

I watch the help channel, a lot, and he hasn't been in there, and there was a rumor he was banned from the help channel, and I think that might be related. But the details as to the how, why, or if that is true, I have no clues to.

I didn't know the guy, but I've heard the story about why he left.
From what I've heard, Black hole bob used to help people in the help channel quite a bit. But there was an incident where CCP volunteer staff were laughing at new players in the help channel for asking silly questions and blackhole bob told them off for it, and then he got banned from the channel. There's more to it than that I'm sure, but I think that is what caused it.
I also think he was getting fed up with various people in eve who seem opposed to competition. Such as the guys making the video, and the eve-radio guys.
But yeah, he didn't seem like the most stable guy.

Honestly, I'm not sorry to see the guy go. He's always been such a drama *****. There was the thing where he accused EVE Radio of supporting ISK selling (obviously untrue, you can't control Google ads and there's only so much Google can - or is willing - to do to restrict those ads), which was just ridiculous, and his movie project would be fine but as soon as people commented on the fact that the proposed story seemed ridiculous (it was something like Caldari and Amarr fighting over the real Earth or something like that) and that he didn't quite seem to appreciate how much WORK this involved, plus the fact that the trailer he showed was a bit light on the content... yeah. Add to that the fact that his posts usually made my eyes bleed and he seemed to take the opportunity to plug PROCORE PRODUCTIONS OMG at every opportunity...
I don't doubt that he's a decent enough guy in real life, really. But before Vegas happened, had you asked me what I thought Bob was IRL, I'd have said he's a 14-16 year old posing as an adult in an attempt to be cool. The fact that he IS an adult and behaves the way he does online is frankly even more disturbing.
And if he has a problem with the volunteer moderators? Screencap the misbehavior and email it to Kieron. One of his jobs is sorting out stuff like this. Volunteers behaving badly is no reason to scream at all of CCP, who I know legitimately care about all their players.
In short, good riddance to bad rubbish, really. I'm sure someone else (or CCP for that matter - Kieron's expressed interest in having regular US FanFests) will step up to the US FanFest plate.

To a point I can understand just being so ****ed off over something - even something that wouldn't **** off other people - that you just can't move beyond it. On a personal level, I've always had something of a temper and sometimes I just get so angry that I just can't tone it down; it is at these times when I usually withdraw from other people to avoid spewing a constant stream of vitriol about whatever's ****ing me off. It's a character flaw, I know, but not one I've been able to overcome.
That said, I can understand why Bob might choose to withdraw rather than continuously ***** and complain about it and make others miserable, too.

So what we have are two possible areas of conflict
1. His idea for a movie. I've read his thread on it and come on guys; he was just defending his point of view. What he was trying to say was that any production he was trying to do should not be compared to any of the Evolution videos, whether they were out or not. Imagine if everyone laughed at everyone who had an idea for a Sci-Fi movie after 2001 - A Space Odyssey. Just because it was done before does not mean it should not be done again. He was asking for expressions of interest from people who may want to be involved, not opinions on whether his idea was sound. If he wanted to make a movie, he should have been allowed to do so without the rants from others.
2. Help Channel incidents. From what I know Blackhole Bob was a regular on the Help Channel providing real assistance to people. How many of you can say you've done that? Unfortunately, I know that I have not, but this character is a part of Eve Uni and help there when I can. Sure, in this instance he maybe should have handled things differently, but then the Help Channel volunteers maybe should have done so as well. Look at what the problem was, the volunteers bagging on new players, and him telling them to quit it. Now if that is not an honorable thing to do, I don't know what is. But, we do not know the specifics of this event either.
I believe the Eve Radio ISK selling thing was settled, even though it may have left a sour taste in the mouths of all people involved.
I for one will be sorry to see him go. I can't believe that some of you have ranted on him again in this thread. For all of his faults, I believe him to be an individual who has his heart in the right place, and we need as many of those type of people in Eve as possible.
Finally, to Blackhole Bob, if you decide to stay ingame and you want to help others, join the Eve University chat channel. Plenty of people asking questions in there.

He might have been a bit unstable, but there's a lot of people like that from what I've seen.
Hopefully he'll decide to stay and send CCP a petition regarding the help channel.

I am a regular listener to EVE-NN and BB has been great, he is a character and helpful and loves EVE-O; so am surprised and saddened at this news. Am sure that there is more to this but if some guys have been ticking you off; screw 'em. is it worth leaving the game and the community?
I was hoping to come over to the EVE Gathering next year too....
Either way, your contributions to the EVE community have been great and will be missed.
