Originally by: Bland Inquisitor Okay that sounds fair, if givne the oppertunity,w hat would you suggest a player had to do to use the service or idea im thinking of in terms of *player skill*
You Jumpclone to an assasin's body. Then the game switches to a Metal Gear Solid type mode where you ninja your way to the opponent's docked pod, plant C4 charges, then run like hell while trying not to be shot by the station police.
For the sarcasm impared, that was a joke (though it would be really cool if they DID inplement it.)

QFT
Killing other playters should take real life player skill not just "I can train my second account character to do this in 6 months" months skills.
I personally have the skill points to fly a Tempest pretty well. Without the real life skills and the combat experience with that ship those skills are all but useless. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Well technically there would be, You would have to train skills to use the assassins
not skillpoints. Skill. Player Skill.
Yes but this is more towardsd empire players. Not 0.0 pvpers such as yourself. So it wouldnt be an option in 0.0. And stop going on about skill please as the game is not 100% pvp. It's an idea

Well never mind them. U see this is why people don't post ideas, because people cannot help but flame them if they dont agree, if you ahd bothered to read what i said and the rules that could be implemented. it wsa just an idea. not a reality and and for the asswipe who said *wow anyone* i dont play wow, i dont play guild wars, i just play eve
Pathetic, you should all be proud of yourselves for making a perfectly good thought into a flame fest
well done

No, it is not a good thought, and we have explained why. Nor is this a flamefest any more than any other threads here. If you can't deal with this level of criticism, you are on the wrong internet.
I agree that WoW has nothing to do with. You have in fact given me an idea for a new game. In this game, you sit and do nothing for 6months, while playing a monthly subscription. After that, a little button saying "LOL KILL SOME NUB!" shows up your screen, and if you press it, some other bastard has to wait another month for his button to appear. I reckon it will be a hit. Just need a name for it. I'm currently thinking something on the lines of "Braindeath Online".

But still a rubbish, griefing, idea. I'd train up an alt to simply ransom people in empire stations.

i'm sorry but I do agree here, this is a TERRIBLE idea, it'd be used for griefing. Seriously, it doesn't go with the game really, you just click a button and someone dies. sorry

The problem is you could set an alt that can do that at a station, pod someone, then immedietly kill that person again when they arrive at station (they lose sp). Then hop your alt into another corp, do it again the next day. This has way to much of a grief potential, and no real benefit to the game. You could instantly destroy hundreds of millions in implants with the click of a button. Sure it could cost you just as much, but if you are a rich player you might not mind the cost, while the empire mission runner who has just spent the last 2 months saving for those implants is screwed.
So i definately disagree with this idea, it's pointless and will only cause lots of grief.

What this game needs is a shooter moment when you dock at station with hostiles, and go UT on them.

Ooooh, perhaps I could train Ninja skills to level 5 and go around killing players myself, that might solve the "don't hire someone else to do it" problem ;)

So for 250mil I could take out 2 bil in implants? SWEET. I know a couple of peeps that would be well worth that money, now who flew that 22k armor zealot again?
And eve combat does take a lot of skill, just not a lot of "look mom i can press 20 buttons at the same time 400 times a minute while standing on my head" type of skill. ~{When evil and strange get together anything is possible}~ A tool is only useless when you don't know how to use it. - ActiveX The grass is always greener on the other side. - JoCool |

How about 10 marines = 1 second longer it takes for an enemy to redock.
So if somebody is playing undock redock games I can unload my marines give them a target to prevent from docking and get an extra amount of time to mess them over.
Or if you have an amount of marines it'll prevent their marines from doing anything and you'll be able to tell they are messing with you cause your marine count is going down 1 to 1 for all the marines they use.

Originally by: Bland Inquisitor This was an idea i had
Make an option where you could murder a player docked in the same station, Which would be the same as pod killing. So u'd dock and be able to hire a assassin to go to there office area and murder them. All Ingame of course
So for instance
Corp A Lives in the same System as Corp B
Corp A gets ****ed and Corp B
So Corp A can hire an ingame station assain to go to the corps office ingame station and kill him. So he wakes up where his clone is set
But you would need skills like
Assassination Skill 5 - Which to 5 would take 3 months Covert operations 5 - Again 3 months till 5 Espionage Skill 4 - Like 5 weeks till 4
So in theory you could settle disputes without war but there would be counter skills
Say
Cover 5 influence 5 - This skill would enable the ceo to pay more than the attacking ceo to send the assain back around
Prices? Id say about 250mil per assail, only allowed 1 assassin per week
Anyway, this was just a random idea i had
Like it? No? yes? Imporve it? Please post beliow :)
No, don't like it. First up to keep in line with the prime fiction killing someone outside of their pod is perma-death. That can be changed in the PF of course so that aside it has no counter except training more skills and paying more isk.
Skills are there to enchance the actions you take which is what DS means by skill. Mining skills, enhance your mining yield when you go out and mine a rock. Gunnery skills enhance your abilities when you fly around shooting your guns. While industrial skills can allow you to better undercut a market competitior there are no skills that allow you to harm (as in injure / pod / blow up ship) another player without somebody attacking them in a ship. That is good gameplay, what you are suggesting is bad gameplay.
As it stands I am currently sitting in some backwater station changing skills while I alt-tab to write in the forums. Even if there was a "hit this button now to avoid insta-death" from some kind of counter assasination skill I would have missed it. Same applies when I dock to get a beer or visit the dunny.
In Eve docking means you are truly safe and you can go do stuff without coming back to a pod. If you have a war target camped in a station you have denied them freedom of movement, you have prevented them from killing your guys. There is more to warfare than a killboard, if your enemy cannot undock he is beaten (until his mates turn up and the shooting starts).
The only way I can see killing people in station working is if CCP do the walking around station thing. In fact one of the main reasons they stated for the hold up on this was that if you can walk around you must be able to shoot each other which creates a whole pile of issues. Then combat skills, side arms, the security status of the station (or area of station) all come into play just like space combat. When it does I just hope they retain one area which is totally safe such as on your ship so I can still dock when RL calls knowing I won't come back to a pod.
The worst idea I heard prior to this was a module that would insta-pop any ship that fired on you if you didn't consent to PvP but this "kill this guy in the dunny" button takes the lead. Your idea puts the ass back into assasination. (I couldn't resist).

I want a skill to EGG other peoples ships while docked.
You have a 10% chance of getting caught by a concord official based on the security status of the system (1.0 = 100% chance of getting caught, perhaps a skill lowers it?). Penalty = 500 isk fine per egg thrown.
When the person docks at their station they have to clean their ship or it will smell.
