This was an idea i had
Make an option where you could murder a player docked in the same station, Which would be the same as pod killing. So u'd dock and be able to hire a assassin to go to there office area and murder them. All Ingame of course
So for instance
Corp A Lives in the same System as Corp B
Corp A gets ****ed and Corp B
So Corp A can hire an ingame station assain to go to the corps office ingame station and kill him. So he wakes up where his clone is set
But you would need skills like
Assassination Skill 5 - Which to 5 would take 3 months Covert operations 5 - Again 3 months till 5 Espionage Skill 4 - Like 5 weeks till 4
So in theory you could settle disputes without war but there would be counter skills
Say
Cover 5 influence 5 - This skill would enable the ceo to pay more than the attacking ceo to send the assain back around
Prices? Id say about 250mil per assail, only allowed 1 assassin per week
Anyway, this was just a random idea i had
Like it? No? yes? Imporve it? Please post beliow :)

And how would you intiate this attack, click a Kill other player in station now button or something?
Not sure if your idea will work without any sort of player - game interaction other than having the necessary skills.

Well how about
Corp A has to have you at - standings
And the way you would do it would be like, The corp CEO or person you are going for would have to be docked in the same station. Either online or logged
Sort of a *hire Assassin* button kind of thing
Not sure tbh, i just had the random idea and thought id ask for ideas on if peeps liked it or how to improve it
Remeber the other CEO you are assassinating has to have you @ - standings, so u cant just kill anyone

Yes but this is more towardsd empire players. Not 0.0 pvpers such as yourself. So it wouldnt be an option in 0.0. And stop going on about skill please as the game is not 100% pvp. It's an idea

i never said PvP. i said skill. To take something from a player should take effort, not just pressing the pwn button.

Here's a hint: When people on the forums talk about the "I Win" button, THEY'RE KIDDING!! No one REALLY wants a scenario where you push a button and win.
Now hiring a SPY which checks out what your opponent has in his hanger, that might be interesting.

I cant believe you are serious with this idea. You seriosly want a skill that enables you to kill a player in a station? --- The Eve Wiki Project |

The bigegst problem is potentiallly the following could occur:
-Ebil corp watches which station your guys lvie out of. -Ebil corp decs you. -Ebil corp keeps one person docked in your station, and everytime one of your guys gets pod killed, they hit the 'assasinate' button before you have a chance to get a new clone.
This would means that you could with very little effort start killing off peoples skill points, which equate directly to real life time and money. There'd be no way to keep yourself safe. Insurance and one clone should be enough to at least keep you alive and kicking even in the direst situations.Loosing a million skill points because some ******** griefers are bored simlpy isn't on.

Just adding huge skillpoint requiremtents doesn't make a feature good. It has no real use: it is just a method of damaging people (and here is the really important bit) without them being to do anything about it.
Why should people have to train for 6months just to be protected from something which is not gameplay at all. If I attack someone, it is me against him (+/- a blob on either side). Thats PvP, and he can avoid it, he can win it, I can win it and it all depends on our actions. Our setups, our tactics and our friends.
Sitting in a station, then waking up in a clone is pointless. It costs you money to cost them money, it provides no fun, and it is undefendable by actions, only by SP grind. Thats a bad feature, right there. I severely hope this is never introduced.

Edited by: Ishen Villone on 03/06/2006 17:11:48 I'd train ten assassin alts and ransom every rich player out there. Pay me 500m isk or you will be repeatedly podded and lose all your skillpoints!
Edit: not to mention insta-loss of implants.

No...just...no.
You'd have to have a "Bodyguard" skill and/or "Set Boobytrap" skill and then you'd have to have a "Kill Bodyguard" skill and a "Find Trap" skill.
No...just get in a damn ship and go blow someone up.

I would have to say this is the dumbest idea anyone has ever had for EVE, but that would be unwarranted. LetĘs just say the idea was conceived prematurely and is lacking any in-depth thought about it. Now with the polite flaming aside , this ideal while limited did give rise to a possibly interesting idea/in game occupation. The role of a spy. We already have spies in alliances but to actually have a skill set for it and maybe integrating it with Hacking or Covert OPs isn't really too bad of an idea.

Spy Abilities Limited scanning of peoples hangers (you don't get a full list just random insights) Scanning Containers, POS's (ie ships in hanger, type of ammo in guns, fuel stores, etc...) once again not a full set but limited portion. Communication intercepts i.e being able to get gang convo extracts (partial) from hostile gangs. (Can couple this with a specialty ship, covert ops etc.) Faking a convo or invite from another character. (Highly doubt it but it would be kind of cool to see how well you could spoof characters behaviour).
Feel free to add suggestions.

How about this ... You get a ship, you launch, you find the guy you want dead, lock his ship, scramble it, blow it up, lock his pod, scramble it, blow it up.

Well thanks to those who didnt slam or flame me for an idea, appreciate it
Besides. It would be limited to one assination per corp per week
So the skill point loss would be none existsent unless there clones wernt upto date
Also id suggest sumthing like, 100k SP be taken from player everytime the use the service. Also alts wouldnt be able to use it. As the 250mil a shot charge would stop abuse of it.
But thanks for all the input. Was just an idea so calm down please

Mate your idea sucks... it involves no player skills... just a silly I pay and you die concept...
If you like the idea of people doing the dirty work for you hire in game players who fufill the role of pkers and assassins... its as easy as that ... in the mean time if you get more such silly ideas ...expect nothing more then flame and exasperation... what eve needs is more player skill requirement... less I-win buttons...

keep in mind though, the only reason we don't die (other than because CCP doesnt want us to kill ourselves for losing 3 years of hard work) when we get podded is because of the cloning equipment INSIDE OF THE POD. If a pilot is walking around in a station, he's not surrounded by the equipment that copies his mind into a clone with moment before the body dies. so... boom headshot anyone?

What this would require would be a chance for the assassin to get caught and betray who hired him under interrogation.
This is not the worst idea I ever heard for EvE. The worst was a time weapon which made your crew all die of starvation. Suggested by a WoW player named Tom.

I would rather see, with the planned "walking in stations", the ability to go up to someone in station and just randomly punch them.. _________________________
