I only flew with him twice, but even in that short time he made an impression as a friendly guy. Very sad to know he's gone.
Everyone else has said it, but... 23 is so young

My God what can I say here that has not already been said.
I met Io when he first joined Cult way back in the early days of Eve. Very soon he was kicking my butt in all our training sessions :( In my opinion one of the best PvP pilots in all Eve. I will so miss him :(
Life is harsh sometimes and I guess we all take it for granted and think we are immortal! I will miss yah Buddy. God bless.
My god Soul were outnumbered again! You can say that again Io. We're in the stickiest situation since Sticky the Stick Insect got stuck on a sticky bun!

Rest in Peace Ioctl, I came across the cult over two years ago now and being owned by him and similar calibre pvpers formed the start of my experience in eve, as such though I didn't know him personally it was a privilege to get taken to the cleaners by him

I am not sure that can believe that io is gone, and I am at a loss as what to say.
My character has been into hibernation for a few moths avaiting my new computer, because of that I am still in the Cult - and it feels strange to be in this ghost corp now that the person I knew as io is gone. He embodied the friendship and spirit the corp was about - and the emptiness knowing that he is gone feels horrible.
He was truely one of, if not the, best pvp:er in EVE - but most of all he was a friend and it feels strange to know that I will never hear his voice on ventrilo again. And it breaks my heart to think of what his family must go through.
Good bye io, I will always remember you. o/

Whenever a person famous somewhere passes away, it always leaves a trail of emptyness where I just think of how life passes by too quickly and you never know what will happen today or tomorrow. Again, my condolensces to Omniscient Order and io's family.
Have you found out what happened to him? ===

But it is always said when someone dies young.

Ioctl had clearly been very ill for a long time, but you would never have known it when online with him. He never moaned or complained and was still a good laugh on Vent.
On the day before he died, I had posted on our Corp's forums that I needed a copy of a particular set of bookmarks. We all know what a complete nightmare copying large numbers of bookmarks is. Regardless, on the same day Ioctl (our CEO) had done it himself for me. I think that really illustrates why he was such a popular person to fly with. Not only was a great pvper (and he really was) and a good CEO, he was also a really funny, kind and entertaining guy. I must admit that I was surprised to hear that he was only 23, as due to his level of maturity he seemed a lot older.
I quite like the idea previously posted of him now playing lag free Eve in heaven where there are no bugs, no warp core stabs and lots of war targets 24/7 !!
RIP - 'teh Ioctl'

For those who have asked, Ben's cause of death was a heart attack.
One of his arteries had become almost completely blocked, causing a lack of blood to his brain. This, in turn, caused headaches, for which he was taking painkillers. Due to the strength of the painkillers, he probably didn't feel the heart attack coming on.
Can I ask those of you who are religious to pray for his family and friends at this trying time?
Thanks.

Shocking news ot say the least and im lost for words what to say.
I have found members . All back in the day when Cult were chasing us off the gates in VA. A fantastic Pvper . And a very nice guy . Hes my age and its scary that he was so young . May he R.I.P and be rememberd for what he brought to EVE-Online .
Ive always belived in when some one passes away to not think of sorrow but to think of the happy memories he gave us.
RIP old friend. We will all miss you

Truly tragic news.I wasnt lucky enough to have met Ioctl/Ben I watched his videos and always thought of him as a great player. My deepest condolences for his family and friends.
Alabaster columns of sunlight, gleaming, Illumine the darkness of this day. Nightmares turn to peaceful dreaming. Awesome fears fade far away.
Though now my soul no longer dwells, Upon the world as I have known, Still I live beyond the pastel Elysian fields, are now my home.
Weep no more for me, beloved, For I can sense no pain. At one with God in heaven above You; I'm at peace, and at peace shall I remain.
