This has worked fairly well for me while remaining cheap if needed. I use various tech 2 mods as well, and the repairers are almost necessary to have tech 2 or good named.
3x Medium Nosferatu 2x Light Neutron
1x 10mn Afterburner 1x Warp scrambler (I personally use a 20km) 1x Stasis web
1x Medium Armor repairer 1x Small armor repairer 2x whatever (hardeners, damage controls, etc.)
I didn't post this in the PVP thread because this is more piracy based, against an unwilling target.

High:
4 x Light Neutron II 1 x Med Nos II
Med:
1 x Webber 1 x Scrambler (7.5 or 20km) 1 x 10 mwd (or something else)
Low:
1 x Med Armor Rep II 1 x Energized Nano II 2 x 800mm Plate
Drones as well
You can fit 2 x 800mm but not 1 x 1600mm due to the PG limit.

Small guns (i find 150's work well), Decent amount of NOS/neut, Tackling gear, AB, Reps, Biggest plate you can fit.

Edited by: Samirol on 12/06/2006 10:37:06 I have better luck using the 2 repairers instead of the plate, but that is just me. With the dual reppers, I can tank some BC setups. The nos can usually cover the cap need.
Also, 150s aren't exactly great for piracy since the goal is to be up close and personal. ORE MONGERS |

3x Med NOS 2x Med Pulse (Radio/Multifreq) 1x 10mn AB II 1x 20k 1x Web 1x SAR II 1x DCU 1x EANM 1x 800mm RT
7x Valk + Extra drones in cargo.
Pulses due to ammo issues, if taking on an afker in a big ship. With 3 nos you can run everything forever.

paper thin setup, will probably get crushed by any decently set up cruiser.

if youre going to use 3 medium nos, think about using a medium neutralizer aswell. If you do that ontop of the 3 nos you can prolly drop the stasis webber for an ECM in which case you can "ew tank" with just a small repper and a plate.

my current belt piracy setup. i go tech2 for the reppers and drones, the rest is named. The small blasters can take out enemy drones at a semi decent pace, which is their only real use. They key to the setup is operating in the 12-19km range if solo, avoiding close range weaponry as long as you can. As for in the field experience it hasnt died 1v1 to any cruiser, and has solo'd a brutix and ferox.
4x small basters 1x small nos -or- drone link aug
1x 10mn AB 1x warp disrupter 1x medium cap injector
2x medium armor reps 1x 800mm plate 1x energized adaptive nano
5x vespa 5x hornet

Standard nos-Vexor
2x Medium Nos 3x 150mm Railguns/Small Neutron Blaster
1x 10mn Afterburner 1x Web 1x 20km Scrambler
1x Small Armour 1x RCU II 1x 1600mm Plate 1x Damage Control
That's the standard setup, not my personal favourite though.

erm 125s hit 0-15k....thats considered close range, this way your doing damage the whole time, not just some of the time. ---------------------------

I prefer using the arbitrator for this role. Same drone bonus plus you get the tracking disruption EW bonus. Vexor has no EW bonus and if you use nos you waste the med gun damage bonus.

you get the 5th high slot though, allowing the 3 nos/2 guns or 2 nos/3 guns setup. You have more damage capability in a vexor.
And arbitrators can only use 2 turrets as well

I personally just use the cookie cutter setup.
Highs: 2x Med nos 3x 150mm rails or small nuetrons
Meds: 1x ECM 1x AB 1x Scram
Lows: 1x MAR 1x EANM 1x Damage Control 1x 800mm plate
Works decently well, however i usually don't fly the vexor the thorax feels a bit more well rounded.
Another good setup that I probably will goof around with is a gank vexor.
Highs: 2x Heavy Ion II 2x Heavy Nuetron II 1x Small Diminish Nos
Meds 1x 10mn MWD 1x 20k Scram 1x X5 Web
Lows: 3x MFS II 1x SMAR II
This setup is paper thin and probably won't work too well in a large number of situations however with implants and maxed skills it is pushing 700 dps.

here is a setup that I have been playing with, justa break from the standard nos vex that I useually run. my fitting skills are not all that hot, this just fits, but I am shure could be improved once I skill up a bit more
HIGH: 1 med nos (range on lights is to short) 4 light electron blasters after my mids and lows I am out of cpu, so this is what fits
Med: 20k scram 2 multi jammers (or racial if I have a scout)
Low: 1600 plate active em, thermal, and explosive hardners
my cap holds with the nos running, but once I skill up to the point of beign able ot put some more on that will make it alot ore solid, racial's are not a problem, but multi's drain my cap fast. I haveot go with crappy light guns because my CPU is pretty tight, a few more levels of wep upgrades should open up my high slots a little more. I have no repper, as this is mostly used in belt yarring..so I dock and repair between fights, or get some remote repping in a safe.

2 adaptive nanos and a damage control is better than 3 active hardeners in my opinion.

I play the gallantes strengths with this one, close and fast.
2 med nos, 3 light nutronII
MWD, 20K scram, web
med rep II, DCU, energised nanoII, reactive plateII
5 valkierII, 5 warriorII (seperate groups)
assuming all your skills, including the compensations, are at 4/5 you wont meet real trouble. Nutrons with null have cronic range, with the mwd hoever you'll be under most cruisers guns, cant pod with your drones either. MWD is very usefull against an unwilling target and a single rep should be suficient with high resists (plus running 2 with a mwd is almost impossible in this ship) whill youll be abel to run into structure with the dcu while you cycle your rep.
It's an underused, often under-estimated ship which will handel cruisers, AF and barges with ease, better for piracy than a plate rax imo as it can fight close/ranged

my solo setup (saying solo but usually dual with my friend's thorax)
HI
x3 med nos x2 150mm rails (AM)
MED
x1 AB x1 webber x1 20km scrambler
LOW
x1 MAR x2 energized adaptive nano x1 energized reactive
drones: 5 hammerheads with mixed light drones and extra in cargo bay.
the small hybrid ammo is really small, so u'll be able to carry alot of them at the same time. and use the extra cargo space to carry other things for my friend (extra ammo/drones)
it's cheap and it high dmg :P --------------------------------------- - yes, im a noob - yes, im a nut job - no, i dont give a .... about what u think of my noobness - now, tell me sumthing i dont know |

Edited by: Cpt Fina on 12/08/2006 00:26:07 Hi: 3x Med NOS, 2x Small NOS Med: AB, Web, Scrambler Low: 1x Named or T2 Med Armorrep, Active/Passive harderners, Damage control
Donebay: 5x medium (T2 preferably), 5x small
With the NOS running you can run your modules infinately. You may want to switch one hardener for a small armorrep.

This one gets the winner for me... not cuz its "Better" then some of the other ones, because with issurance you can afford to lose this multiple times... which when your doing piracy can happen preety often :P

For a cheap and effective Vexor, I use: Use named modules where possible, fits with all t1 modules though.
2x Medium Nos 3x 125mm Railgun (Plutonium/Tungsten or AM/Iron, depening on preference)
1x 10mn Afterburner 1x 20k scram (need the range so you can close) 1x ECM Multispec (*shrug*)
1x 1600 plate (preferably tungsten or crystal) 1x SAR II 1x RCU (t1 fits fine) 1x Cap Relay (or EANM, if using a t2 RCU)
2x Ogre (or Heavy Webber Drone, up to prefence, I've been using 1 of each), 2x Hammerhead, 1x Hobgoblin With all t1 mods (except the SAR II) it ends up with <1 PG remaining (with Engineering V and AWUps III)
Any thoughts?
