And have you played freelancer?... of so then you should see what i mean. You come up to the side of the gate and then just disapear and it shows no travel in between...
Yeah. And Freelancer, while being well designed in general, managed to take out any kind of fun within two minutes after the realization that whatever better ship I buy, it will be offset by the game adjusting the enemies to exactly the level I am at. Amazing how they managed to fsck that up.
p.s. thanks - I finally have a signature "At least freelancer keeps the physics realistic."

Originally by: SINKFIST Sorry... but sitting back and pressing F1 or F2 sounds really boring. There is no skill required to play this game. Just a lot of usless time spent by someone who has nothuin better to do. I like to jump in a game undock kill or whatever and then leave if i wish. But 4 1/2 hrs to wait while my character learns a skill just so he can get in his ship is a waste of time. The game is merely a time killer not a test of abilty/hand eye co-ordination but a test of laziness. You just have to spend hrs and hrs gettin what you want then you can sitt around and brag about what you got. Thats all i can see this game for. ( a 3d chat room).
think you should see games like WoW then :/
u can be combat efficent ina frig and killing ppl in 2-3 weeks :) and noobody really uses orbit or whatever in afight... ofc when its a sure kill and the enemy cant do enything enymore.. then yea.. but mostly when i fight i use my mouse to guide me in combat :P
eve skill system is the best imo.. especcially for ppl who have life... works, school or even both. u can be logged 24/7 to exp and get lvls or whatever. and the time sink... at the start.. skills take quite a long time to train.. but when u have played for 3-4 months u can do them very fast.. get learning skills up... then when u have some spare money, buy implants :D the more u lear.. the more options are presented to u... can fly more ships. can do more stuff :)

I feel there is an appropiate "You Mother..." comment to make in relation to the title of this thread, but I think I'll restrain myself. : )

I mean come on... autopilot fighting? how *** is that. I have never been so bored in a game...EVER
Dont get me wrong the graphics arent bad but not near as good as it portrays to be.
The Jumpgate transition is stupid, you would think that it would at least line you up properly. Plus haha ...it allows you to fliy right through planets and spacestations.
At least freelancer keeps the physics realistic. And way less texture clipping. You can freeflight whenever you like, especially in a fight. I cant believe how bad this game has dissapointed me.
A word of advice to the creators... Less clipping, realistic dock sequences, freeflight ability, and please please please make it so you can actually fight, because the fighting is weak.
Freelancer and physics LMAO. If you want to feel free flight use I-War, that had Physics. I used to play them all, but eve is a lot more tactical and i like that above spinning around while firing, more wasnt even freelancer --------------------------------------- Member of UU : Diplomatic Corps |

eve online IS: open-ended MMO wich give a propotional ammout of fun related to the ammount of work you pour into it.
eve online IS NOT: CS in space (altho some people just play it like that ), WoW in space where you swing your mighty haxx0red axe of doom +12 and all your enemies fall before you. -------

well,
eve is not a space-fight simulation game, but an mmorpg in space. instead of pushing gamepad buttons in rappid succession, you rely on your attributes, skills and fittings and try to optimize thoose for various situations.
i played quite some other mmorpgs before and none had the depth and complexity of eve. i happily pay a little bit more for this since i do not need any other games anymore.
