Quote: What does CCP think of the burgeoning player stock market in EVE? Will CCP create an official in-game stock market so that players don't have to rely on an outside website, as they have done for many other features in EVE? Regardless, what are CCP's plans on this issue?

(1) With the improvements of scanning and probes recently announced, how will those refinements deal with the current epedemic of "Oh crap I'm outnumbered, better log off until later" combat that runs rampant across eve?
(2) When are agent refinements going to be rolled out? Specifically, when are agent rewards, isk and bounties going to be spread across gang members to encourage grouping?
(3) When is CCP going to establish a full-time, paid wing of event planners and actors to drive the currently quasi-hibernating storyline?
(4) Have you asked PC Gamer magazine if they are ever going to do a story on Eve online, or are they forever going to take your money for the back inside cover and ignore you?
(5) Are officer spawns in certain regions working as intended? (i.e. have you noted more officers spawning in certain regions than others, and some not at all in certain regions)
(6) Are there any plans to reduce the cost of the Carrier skill, and perhaps introduce a Mothership skill to offset the cost?
19 Missile Launcher Operation skills trained, for a total of 8,801,312 skillPoints.

1. Are you happy that territorial warfare has become a matter of who can get the biggest blob in the system first, bubble up the gates and lag/kill any force that tries to enter while billion-isk ships with billion-isk faction fittings shoot stationary objects for hours on end?
2. Oveur has stated there aren't enough HAC BPOs, so when are you going to seed more?
3. If you want more people in 0.0, why do you force alliances to continually run to Empire space to buy more NPC commodities?
4. Are you happy that roaming gangs and battleship fleets mean virtually nothing anymore as the only time an alliance has to defend it's space is when the enemy jumps in capital ships or when escorting freighters returning from empire with NPC commodities?
5. Why did you squeeze out small but dedicated corporations from claiming stations (like before the towers were introduced as part of sov) by making it require billions upon billions of ISK to get started and a fleet of carebears/press-ganged PVPers in haulers to maintain?
6. Why don't you publicly name and shame those who have been warned/banned from the game in a monthly devblog? Surely showing us that the GMs are doing their job is just as important as bringing those who break the rules to justice, much like legal systems worldwide?
7. Why is the only chance a POS has to pop a dread is when it lags out on warp-in?
8. Why do Crystal implants increase the shield boosting amount and unbalanced the relationship between shield boosters and armour reps? The slave sets only boost armour hitpoints, so why don't crystals do the same?
9. Why was a speed penalty added to Hail ammo after all of the T2 ammos were released, and why didn't the other 2 high-damage close-range T2 ammos also recieve the penalty?
10. Why does the Typhoon have the slot layout for armour tanking yet has more shield than armour hitpoints?
11. Why does the Hel have the slot layout for shield tanking yet has more armour than shield hitpoints??
12. If Minmatar are supposed to be vary their damage output, why is all our T2 ammo explosive/kinetic
13. If you give a player a module that prevents his target from activating his modules it's overpowered and the only way to effectively counter is with more of the same. With that in mind, why do ECM and Sensor Damps (stops you activating remote modules) and Nos (stops you activating any module that uses cap when enough are used) still continue to work as they do? If it has the potential to be abused, it can and will be abused by the playerbase.
14. With the stacking penalty nerf now in, can we please have target painters back to +50% strength?
15. When will we see the new system for propulsion jamming?
16. Why doesn't the turret tracking formula take into acount angular velocity so fast moving ships don't miss all their shots as it is the ship that is turning, not the turret (which is far more realistic).
17. Why does falloff effect the chance to hit/jam/dampen/paint etc instead of modifying the damage/strength of the modules it's affecting?
18. Why is the only benefit you gain from fitting higher-tier turrets are an extra few % in DPS and slightly less ammo consumption, yet the penalties are higher powergrid, higher CPU, worse tracking (the worse tracking generally negates the increased DPS as the guns miss more often).
19. Why won't you release the turret-damage and the "cargo destruction chance" formulas?
20. If missile users are allowed long-ranged missiles that hit smaller targets for full damage, why aren't turret users allowed the same? Surely you just undid the missile nerf that was designed to balance large missiles vs smaller targets?
21. Why does the dominix get bonuses to all combat drones instead of just heavy drones and the ishtar just gets mediums?
23. Why are/were Fleet Tempest BPCs allowed to be farmed from Cosmos missions for so long?
Lets actually get some of the hard-hitting questions answered for once instead of "Where do you see EVE going."

Edited by: Fellhand on 28/06/2006 09:12:10 I have a few questions:
What happened to all the industrialist stuff that's been mentioned (and in some cases, promised) like system-wide belts, comet/cloud mining, industrialist implants and so on? The combat jocks get endless love and the mission runners get their share but the industrialists seem to get repeatedly ignored.
Why do you persist in promising new expansions before getting everything in and fixed from the last one?
The "unsubscribe" form includes an option for people to say why they're quitting. What percentage of those quitting specifically cite pirate activity as the reason? (that's not a request to get rid of pirates, I'm just curious).
When are you going to defuse this shared delusion that Eve is primarily a combat game and the other shared delusion that being a pirate should be easier?
Will you ever admit that the drone nerf was a mistake and/or reverse it? (actually, forget it, I know the answer to that one).
Is it true that all of Eve's devs wear eyepatches and wooden legs?
Did you intend the result of the vast majority of 0.0 space being claimed by large alliances?

Hi Xyl o/ I'll throw a few questions to choose from:
1. Will Battlecruisers' agility and signature radius be looked at?
2. Will Charisma be balanced with other attributes?
3. Is Capital Ships' balance being looked at?
4. Will we ever see a standing-based market (limitations to whom one wishes to sell)?

So many questions in this thread. I think it would be very appriciated if you devs took a whole afternoon to answer most of these questions verbally. Just make it a interview where someone asks you these questions and you give replies to them. Record it all and put it on the net. It would be easy. Dont let time stand in the way of spreading knowledge.
My question: Do you feel that transferable/tradable kill rights are a good idea? I do.

And no...I'm not talking about the half-arse "bounty hunter" system that currently exists, but one where you really do "fight for the establishment" against criminals, not just those with negative sec ratings or bounties on their heads.

I know its one question so if my karma is not good enough then please pick one:
- when recreating the ships for the new graphics engine / polygon count, have you considered changing the models (I mean seriously, except Amarr all ships are fugly and I am ashamed of the pointy unwieldy thing my Raven is - and while I know that form follows function in space, its a game, and at least the fighters should be symetrical and look cool (think Wing Commander - flame away)
- having that fantastic character generation engine (which times out too early for us who design character portraits to be nothing but perfect btw), isn't it a shame that my toon (and the other 25.000+) is only seen on stamp-sized chat picture? Have you considered adding some in-space-station activities where the toon plays some role (could even include emotes easily since you have the sliders for it already in the char creation), like if nothing else the Eve equivalent of a game of Pazaak?
- The whole pod thing: How did that get started? Would we one day see some changes to that or is it fixed to much in the game and background story? Reason I ask is, the battleships and cap ships have a gigantic scale, and windows/viewports, and I always think it might make a lot more sense to actually assume a 300 man crew running my Raven and me commanding it and the commander escaping in some sort of rescue pod - which imho could still be implemented and explained. The whole one-man-implanted-in-an-egg-running-a-huge-spaceship thing never made much sense to me imho and limits so many areas of the game - if that would gotten rid of, there could be space station activities and there could even be crew management one day (think Silent Hunter III - e.g. you could "buy" a weapons operator or a radar operator and this would boost your stats. They could even have randomly generated portraits. There are dozens of kewl enhancement ideas in my head that rely on not being a loner in an egg for lifetime.
- and the most important question ... actually THE question to the devs or their lead:
emacs or vi?
(Or maybe even *cough* Visual Studio?)

IMHO they have not even implemented the pirate profession either.
Maybe if there'd be a ransom game interface and proper game mechanics to back it up, I would agree to call it a profession. Until then, it just remains a style of play to me. -----------------------------------------------------

It's really boring for new character to spend a months training learning skills.

Will there ever be a way of increasing faction standings by doing things to help a faction other than just mission whoring?
I mean if you shoot up faction ships they get annoyed at you but their enemies don't like you for it. It'd be nice if there were other ways of influencing standings gain/losses that didn't have to do with the standard agent missions.

Is there any particular consern put to balancing pvp in terms small corps vs large alliances? This is a question I often find myself asking. Earlier you had small corps that could really mess up large alliances. No point in mention names. But as sov, pos war, capitol fleets, titan and motherships comes more and more into play. You so rearly see that now. The small dedicated pvp corps is losing out. Now all an alliance have to do is put up a large or medium pos and you got a safe spot you can sit forever in. It's a level of safety that was none existant before shiva. And consequently your left whit going into guarilla warfare if your the smaller part. All the alliance have to do, is to muster a bunch of miners and npcers who don't really have any skills in pvp, and blobs suddenly got all the advantage just by adding numbers. So I ask again. Is there any consern put into balancing small corps vs large alliances?

Making Planets a controllable resouce- trade good manufacture / manpower / industry / soldiers - planetary bombardment, bonuses, troop transports, capture ships, and a million other things you conld tag onto it.

Currently there are a group of named modules which are the same as the normal T1 modules making the named versions useless. When will modules like the shield relays or cap flux get better fitting and/or better specs? Right now it does not matter if you fit T1, local, beta or any other version they are all pretty much the same. Passive shield tanking guide, click here. |
