My condolences. It is never easy to lose one who is close to you. Please pass on my condolences to her family, and i too will honor her with this moment of silence.
Although i did not know her personally, it is always difficult and saddening to hear about the loss of any member of the EVE community. She will be sorely missed.

On behalf of SF we offer our deepst condolences. We know that she is in a better place now then we could ever hope to be. We mourn her loss of life, however lets also celebrate her life. It will honor her. I did not know this person ingame, but as a member of the community she is part of our family here in EVE.
She will be missed.

Dying so young is really sad. Altough I don't know her, the way you speak of her shows that she must have been a really nice person and a good mate.
Condolences to all, who knew her, at least she stays in your hearts.

Sorry for your loss. She sounds like she was a very special person and one that is a loss to not only all who knew her, but Eve as well.

It may seem trite to say so but beleive me after seeing it first hand you should take comfort in that she will be at peace now.

Another eve friend lost,another life gone at such a young age.
I remeber hitgirl back in the day,came joined 1 of her first gate camps in Jan,it was a blast,from there on always been in contact with each other,I knew about the cancer just didnt relize it would strike her down so fast.
All i can say is sorry.

HitGirl was an old friend from the earlier days of EvE, I think we met when I blew up her thorax, we shared a similar passion, pirating ^_^. So in her honor, from a MSN convo...
Me: Heya hows you?
Her: Pretty good, gonna gank Psychopath now
Me: LOL gank him good
*10mins passes*
Her: Skillz logged, Psycho logged
Me: ^^
Not only did she live for PvP and Pirating, she was very good at working out setups to suit situations. I dont claim to know her like a RL friend but we had some nice chats about EvE and beyond, I for one will miss her dearly, I only wish she had been on MSN in the last few weeks so I could have said goodbye .
So HitGirl I raise my can of Magners (im classy like that) to you, fly safely and rest in peace

Sad, but not unique... she was unique though, we all are different and unique in our own ways. I didn't know her in person but recall the name Hitgirl. This community has a very broad spectrum of people and it touches your soul when you hear stories like this one, of who's behind the ingame character.
Death comes to us all, very few have the luxury of choosing the place and time, or to be remembered for what they did. Honor those who made the sacrifice, honor those who you love, now and always.
Sometimes death is liberating, I hope she's in a better place now. At least she can rest from the pain. Don't ever be afraid of death, it's the most natural thing, be afraid of dying alone that is the worst thing.
