GM Arkanon has authored a new Dev Blog and included in it is an update on the current petition queue, a look at the new petition system, an introduction of new GMs, and a promotion, all tinged with a hint of madness. I've always been told a person has to be slightly mad to be a GM, the blog reenforces that belief.

Quote: The new system is still looking very promising and will without a doubt bring on a new Golden Age of customer support, where petition replies will rain upon our players like manna from heaven, possibly before they even send in their petitions. Hooray!
Why do I somehow imagine someone flying around ratting in their battleship and a GM window pops up "Heres the ship reimburstment for a Megathron you're about to ask for" the player thinks "huh?!" and then crashes to desktop and gets killed by rats. --- Our greatest glory is not in never failing, but in rising up every time we fail. - Emerson |

Edited by: Righteous Fury on 29/06/2006 17:43:09 Sounds great, I'd have more faith if I didn't still have a petition open for two weeks on the new system without any response whatsoever.

Let'ssee how the queues shrink ... oh, wait. I remember a mail I got about having to resubmit a petition if I'm still interested in the issue ...
The queues will shrink fast!

Those threads are actually about the old system, which we are replacing. We're trying to access the old system to find them. Ironic isn't it?

This new system is doomed to the same failure unless you train the new recruits differently.
Please do away with the screw you but have a nice day attitude that the current GMs have.

The GMs are ridiculously useless. Even ignoring response time, there is no consistency, a low level of game knowledge, and generally not giving a damn. People in the same gang can petition the same problem and all get different answers. Not to mention some groups of players always seem to get preferential treatment. |

Does this mean no more petitions going unanswered for weeks and then being deleted without me ever getting a response? Because that is what happened to me recently, serious.

Petitions are quite sensitive to people, specially when losing capital ships or navy ravens to unexpected lag. People must be crazy to work as GM's. I think GM Panic is the best name yet.
Anyways, i hope the new system is really, really good. --- The Eve Wiki Community Portal | Eve Tribune |

First I wanna say : zOMG! Oveur replied to me!!! hehe Second, yes they are essentially about the old system going away being replaced by the new system which made old petitions go PooF! I just thought it was all related. Nevertheless, new petition put in with new system, I just copy/Paste from the emails I got from the old system. No new emails have come in yet from the new system, waitin to hear back. patiently.

You will still get it, but the link to keep your petition open will not work. It is very frustrating. We will just have to be patient.

Well that's great except it means that the whole issue has covered the extent of my soon to run out free trial so that's a little frustrating to send in something over a week ago that would affect my choice about whether to keep playing and to pay for it or not, and know it probably won't be answered until I've already had to decide if I should keep playing and/or to pay money (as opposed to isk) for it. So... /:
It wasn't related to getting any sort of reimbursement.
