IF CCP removed all supers from the game, what would you want to receive back to make you feel 'whole again'?
For example of an expected reply:
- FULL ISK returned - useless skill points returned to the pool - Characters docked high sec - Security status bumped up to -1.9 (if under)
Anything else you would need?

Alternatively instead of injecting trillions upon trillions of ISK into the economy they could provide a mineral credit to the owners. But not in the form of raw minerals (which would inevitably lead to a massive dump of minerals into the market) but a UI widget which allows you gradually use the mineral credit at your leisure - push button, get a T1 item (ship hull, mod, capital component, etc.) of your choosing as long as you have sufficient mineral credits. The item would have to carry a flag that does not allow it to be reprocessed.
This would probably have to be bound to the first station where it is used, and be tradeable.
Skillpoint refunds would be inevitable, as well as relocating the fittings and cargo/corp hangar contents to a station, aside from doomsdays, jump portals, remote ECM bursts and fighter bombers which would be added to the mineral credit. Twitter: @EVEAndski

Yeah well lets all agree for a minute the supers are a problem and need removal, the sane way to deal with this is weakening them somehow or creating a class of easier to aquire ships that counter their power or ships that are specifially designed to destroy supers.

supers are the core of the ridiculous power projection that's going on at the moment in EVE. Null sec devolved into the question of who has more supers which is just awful game design. while at the same time any low sec roam with a decent number of ships has to be prepared to get hot dropped by bored PL / CFC super pilots, because null sec became stale **** that is so easy to manage that two power blocs can control all of it. |

I dont want supers to be removed. But i do want a change for them. At the moment all other ships immume to e-war, dreads in siege, carriers in triage and marauders in bastion, get a benefit in some area's and deficits in others. Namely benefits immume to e-war, increased local tank, increase in effecting other ships (dps for triage, application for bastion, remote repping for triage). They also get several downsides. Immobile, immune to remote assistance(trackinglinks remote sensorboosts remote repping remote eccm remote captransfers)apart from this the modules have some unique properties like sieged dreads get a penalty to locked targets, carriers in triage lose the ability to command drones, bastioned marauders get imptoved resistance.
My suggestion for supers is give them a downside due to beeing immume to e-war, taken from the list above. Beeing immobile would be rediculess so thats out. But beeing immume to remore assistance would be a nice idea. It does mean that the local tank is utterly inadequate, thus it needs to be buffed. Taking carriers as a base with half cycle time and double amount repaired we need something better since the use the same capital mods but need a better tank then a triage carrier. My suggestion would be something like give supers a third of the cycle time for their reps and triple the amount repaird and give titans a quarter repair time and four times the amount healed. one of the things i like in capital fights is that there is on the cap warfare so supers and titans should be vulnerable to cap drain. And should be abled to recive captransfers.
i like remote ECM-bursts so w I ll not change them. I also like the current doomsday no change for them either.
Now to Titan bridging. This one is really hard, i have not figured out a way to keep it in the game in a changed way that deminishes powerprojection without invoking malcanis' Law.

I've always thought Dreads are the most balanced Capital; they do what they do very well, but a lack of care, and take risks without back-up, and they are very, very, vulnerable. The other capitals have nowhere near the vulnerability, since they can do what they do without exposing themselves to anywhere near the degree of vulnerability (this is also where I feel Carriers go wrong, since Triage is nowhere near as essential for them to carry out their role as Seige is for a Dread). Were Titans to require a Seige module (no Bridge or Doomsday without it, and maybe give them back their blap capability in Seige), and Supers require a Triage module (can't launch bombers, and remote rep seriously curtailed without it), they suddenly leap up in vulnerability, since just being in a ball of remote rep doesn't render them invulnerable, and using them becomes a little more dangerous. |

for argument sake lets say ccp removes supers and titans. what changes?
the era of the titan bridge is over. (good thing or bad thing) personally i think it would be a good thing to reduce force projection
but that is the only thing that will change.
instead of it being supers and titans it will be carriers and dreads both of which has like 10 times more hp than a battleship the only real difference being carriers and dreads are lot cheaper to instead of 100 supers u see 300 carriers.

All that would happen is that if you removed Supers and Titans is that in a few months you will crying that Carriers and Dreads should be removed because its not fair that a group can field hundreds at a time, will have hundreds more in reserve and will be be able to replace any loses in days.

I don't think CCP has much to fear if they pulled them then really reading the posts.
Repayment seems quite reasonable / acceptable.
Provided structures get normalized inline with the potential DPS an entity could muster, a much needed change of game play would ensue.
Reasons for insulating yourself by having thousands of blues you can't shoot would disintegrate. What once was a luxury will become a burden when they only prevent you from making ISK (unless you are an indy character selling stuff to them).
Such clustering will soon yield to chaos, loosening the bowels of 'intestine heavy' entities.
Argue all you want about people clustering up. You would just sound moronic as clustering up will serve no useful purpose. It will just mean you have to compete harder against people you really don't know to make your ISK.
You'll spread out and move on or stagnate as your wallet withers.
Ex-Titan/SuperCap owners will start the next phase with a very healthy wallet and hopefully create something new for us all to read about. If they want to sit on their ISK and pee it away, that's their business. Not everyone needs their hands held after the first 2 years playing this game.
If that's not for you, then please move on.

Supercaps are what hold the mega alliances together, because with a relatively small number of pilots they can project insane amounts of force. Fielding 300 carriers may be impressive, but it's also a lot easier to match than trying to compete with a serious supercap fleet. You'd see far more null sec wars breaking out and coalitions crumbling if supercaps were gone. |

CCP would not return any useless skill points to the pool, they'd just claim they were "renaming" the supercapital-specific skills and suddenly you'd have a lot of skillpoints that did something meaningless to your playstyle. I am not an alt of Chribba. |

While I am not a capital pilot, I did spend some time in Null-sec, and I did notice that it seemed rather.. stagnant. It seems like there are only 2 or 3 big alliances or at least 3 groups that aren't blue to one another. If you are blue to one, you can fly around all day, dozens of jumps, doing whatever and almost never even see anyone in the systems you are flying through. Everyone seems to hang out in their little care-bear pockets or use titans to jump to PVP along the border.. While I have no stance particularly about the supers, anything that CCP could do to shake it all up and break it down into a mass of crazy people murdering one-another would be ideal in my opinion. Mega-corps/alliances are what's breaking the economy and peoples lives in real life.. seems that way in EVE as well. |

It seems like there are only 2 or 3 big alliances or at least 3 groups that aren't blue to one another. If you are blue to one, you can fly around all day, dozens of jumps, doing whatever and almost never even see anyone in the systems you are flying through. If nothing else, it can't hurt to try, especially with an idea like this, where ever the major blocs agree that the ships in question are problematic (and they are the ones with the most to lose from super nerfs or removal). However, we will always have the dissenting voices who swear that supers are the only thing that let the little guy even scratch the blocs' paintjobs. Then, the same people turn around and complain that the blocs' power projection ruins the game. It would appear to me that their arguments are based less on what would improve things, and more on "just take PL's titans, but let us keep ours." One of the better suggestions was to put some kind of massive upkeep cost on supers and titans. The only problem there, is that it would once again bite the smaller alliances in the ass far more than the major blocs, who have the ability to disperse the cost among members more efficiently. |
