Edited by: GunnyP on 02/10/2003 00:31:26 Earlier today Ragnar Danneskjold officially stepped down as President and CEO of Taggart Transdimensional and declared his retirement from EVE. Ragnar's tireless efforts and robust style of management have seen TTI grow to be one of the most successful corps in the game, and we will be sad to see him leave.
TTI is now under new management. Gunny P replaces Ragnar as CEO, Mark A is appointed Vice President, and there has been an internal reshuffle of the Board of Directors. Along with these changes come new policies, which will return TTI to its roots as a large-scale industrial corporation.
We wish to put the controversy of recent times behind us, and as such are wiping the slate clean. Our KOS list is empty, and we are declaring a unilateral ceasefire effective immediately. All bounties have been revoked, and all existing alliances have been dissolved. In particular, while TTI has never condoned piracy, we have in the past been members of alliances which have included pirate corporations. This is no longer the case, nor will it ever be in future.
We look forward to reaffirming our diplomatic and trade relations with all other corporations and alliances, and working towards a secure and prosperous future for all.

Edited by: Robeyone on 02/10/2003 00:23:32 RONA Corporation would like to congratulate GunnyP as the new CEO of TTI Corporation. As RONA is a corporation bent on peace in the Venal Region we will stand behind the peace process between TTI and the NVA. RONA will abide by the new cease fire in hopes of being an example for the other corporations in the NVA to move forward with the peace process. We also wish that in some point in the future that relations between the NVA and TTI can resume to a normal business level. We accept RagnarÆs retirement and salute TTI for this new and bold move. Congratulations once again. _

Gunny we have been friends for a long time, and I wish you all the best. The Coalition of Free Stars Alliance: Khanid, also welcomes this move within TTi. Recently, the threat of wars, from CA vs SA/FA, and then NVA vs TTi and partners, have threatened to spill over our borders and into Khanid. Hopefully the NVA is now willing, and I see two members of NVA have already supported this, to make peace with TTi. One less war is good for all involved, especially those in the crossfire who did not seek it. TTi has no doubt learned that close association with pirates only taints you, and that other corporations would be well served to remember this. Pirates have their rightful place in this game, but so do those who fight them. I would encourage all corporations involved with this matter to resolve their differences. CFS stands ready to assist in any way in the peace process.

Congratulations Gunny. We said a long time ago TTI would be better off with you and Mark A in charge. While I've been fairly harsh on TTI's lack of military participation in various wars, this criticism never applied to either of you, (nor Tigger) since I noticed that you guys did represent regularly.
I think you can repair TTI's damaged reputation and make your corp a well-respective entity.
Best of luck to you, sir.

On behalf of Jericho Fraction I add our support to the ceasefire and hopeful onset of peaceful negotiation.
We recognise the significant steps that Taggart have taken here. And we applaud the statements made by GunnyP as new CEO of Taggart.
Taggart without the pirate Alliance and without the declared intent to crush the NVA is no longer an enemy that needs fighting.
Speaking personally, I also recognise and applaud the lifting of the solicitation to murder that has long disturbed my sleep ;)
Well done GunnyP and the new Taggart board.
And my best wishes for the peace negotiation to come.
The NA is dead; long live the NVA (and long live New Taggart!)

SirMolle. I would expect you to be gracious and accept your arch-nemesis Ragnar has flown the coop. If you go on attcking what is obviously a beaten down group of people you'll even further your reputation as PK'ers. Or have people forgotten all the threads here in the past about your PKing so called casualties of war. If your going to grief TTI just go ahead and say so. Ah, my favorite princess. Allow me to explain the situation, Princess.
TTi does us wrong, we go to war. Big war ensues, lots of people die, planets explode, sirmolle and ragnar+magic hat fight a deathdefying light saber battle aboard Ragnars apocolypse, a big battlemoon is exploded, etc.
TTi now says Ragnar quit eve. Can we confirm this immediately? No. Can we confirm TTi is really ceasing their fire? No. Are we going to give a unilateral cease fire on one mans word? No. Our leaders and the new tti's will work out it out themselves, without the goading of Amistad.

We acknowledge the NVA claims on the Venal region. We will now enter a ôcooling off periodö during which we will enter formal negotiations for a true and lasting peace

Gunny, as much as I wish to say congrats to you as the new head of TTI, I would also ask of you, how can we all REALLY believe what has just taken place? You must understand, that TTI has done so much to misplace the trust of a LOT of people. And I for one, am not convinced with this 'sudden' turn of events.
What are you going to be able to do to help solidify this event as the real thing? And Ragnor not just the puppet master behind the sceens? Mistrust of TTI runs deep for many people here and just a statement of a new President, will surely not be enough. Vice-Admiral

I have to admit that "trust" is not the sentiment that fills me in regards to TTI. I think "hope" is a better word.
I flew with TTI members several times prior to the fracture of the old VA. I had respect for many of their members before Ragnar's PR fiasco, and I still do. I look at the whole situation like this:
Ragnar did an excellent job of recruiting loyal members to his ranks, members who believed in TTI's stated code of ethics.
Ragnar himself was not a practitioner of these ethics, but preferred money and power.
His members, because of their loyalty, were loathe to abandon TTI when the going got rough, even though most of them probably were not partuclarly happy about the direction TTI was going.
Those same members got tired: Tired of war, tired of PR rhetoric, and tired of being universally hated and hunted because of their corp tag.
Those members have now chosen to find the path they should have been on from the beginning...the path of fair trade and equitable dealings with other...the path to respect.
Over the last two weeks or so, I spoke to several members in TTI's general ranks (read: Not their board of directors) and I know from their own words that what I said above was true for at least some TTI.
Because of this, I am willing to give GunnyP and Mark A a chance to redeem their corporation. I never thought TTI, specifically, was evil. I always thought it was their leadership that caused the problems.

Puppetmaster. lol.
To some extent you are quite right, you'll just have to wait and see. We're not asking anyone to take anything at face value.
However I think the reason that so many people _have_ accepted our announcement so graciously is that it simply makes sense. While being at war with half the universe at one point or another has had its high points, its been going on for months now and its time for a change. Everyone I've spoken to on both sides seems to want a return to profitable operations instead of senseless waste.
Of course the irony is that Gunny and myself weren't tier-2 execs waiting to fill Ragnar's boots - only a few short weeks ago we were rank-and-file military, and on the front-line of the war. This is why a lot of the people posting here know us already, and I'd refer you to their comments about whether we are likely to be true to our word or not.
But like I said, by all means sit on the fence as long as you want. ____________________________________

the thing is, as much as i welcome the resignation of ragnar, will we see a formal apology for his actions from tti, a formal apology to the 5 corp's who they declared war against, if we wish for this "war" with TTI to be ended this need to be done as it will give some closure, untill that point i will still harbour ill feelings towards TTI (and just ill feelings, im not gunna run aroung empire space shooting people, it takes up valuble time) as much hardship was suffered by many corp's because TTI couldnt be humble once in a while or admit when they were wrong.

I think it is a bit much to ask TTI to aplogise. It is one thing to have your leader step down, it is quite another to kiss the boots of those you once fought.
Now what you have to appreciate is that TTI and GunnyP are going to want to make a new fresh start, but let me tell u something, he will not go around touching you guys up. He's not that sort of guy, so do not expect such a public display instead embrace him as the new leader he is and have a more open minded opinion from here on out when it comes to TTI, as those ill feelings are against an opposition long gone (/me Waves).

Quote: the thing is, as much as i welcome the resignation of ragnar, will we see a formal apology for his actions from tti, a formal apology to the 5 corp's who they declared war against, if we wish for this "war" with TTI to be ended this need to be done as it will give some closure, untill that point i will still harbour ill feelings towards TTI (and just ill feelings, im not gunna run aroung empire space shooting people, it takes up valuble time) as much hardship was suffered by many corp's because TTI couldnt be humble once in a while or admit when they were wrong.
My view is that Ragnar was indeed wrong to declare war on the 5 dissenting corps in the infamous VA vote. While I can appreciate the sentiment that corps which vote to boot you from an alliance aren't displaying the spirit of what an alliance is supposed to be all about, fixing any grievances from the inside rather than causing an irreparable rift would have been a better course of action IMHO.
I feel confident that if GunnyP and I had been in charge at that point, things would have gone down differently.
That's as close to contrition as it gets BTW, hope that makes you feel better.
*edit* I'd add that as you probably know, after the civil war had started, I had plenty of opportunities to blast your corp members both around Venal and in your favoured hunting spots further north, but refrained from doing so. Why do you think that was? ____________________________________

Edited by: KIAPieman on 05/10/2003 23:10:59 Edited by: KIAPieman on 05/10/2003 23:10:11 Mark A, i wasnt posting out of any means of being mean or stomping on your corp, i was just making a point, yes our corp voted against you and i do know that you have reservations about that, these are just my feelings and take them as you will, i am by no means a spokesperson for my corp or the venal alliance and i will abide by the ceasefire, its just thet it does take time for wounds to heal (i hope they do too) i would see however thet if i was demanding repayment for losses etc thet that would be unacceptable and it is good that the NVA havent gone down that road.
i know this is digging up an oldish thread but i havent been reading these forums for a few days and i felt i needed to take away any feeling that i was being negative about what has happened with TTI, i really do feel that it is a good move forward for TTI and i hope in the long run i will be able to conduct business with you or even fight alongside you.
i apologise for any confusion from my post.

Congratulations to TTI on their new start. Although I'm sure it will take quite a while to earn the trust you had back in beta again.
It was good fighting with you in beta when I was still with Omega Corp and we aided TTI against Endless Corp and the crap Hellgremlin caused (he must return to make more content imo) in the system wars to win a station. THen you fell from the good fame to what you were recently. Hopefully this path will get you back there .
