Macrosoft and Eve not a good combination. Expansions start costing money, mandatory expansions etc. Also given the way that Microsoft is always out for more money they would not have a problem is real cash -> ISK or buying skills direct from them.

Well, on the flip side, provided EVE is ever ported to any console, getting hate mails/flame mails/curse mails regarding my habit of rending newbies with much larger ships will be much easier. Imagine. Retarded-Xbox-player low-sec mining op. It's a GOLDMINE, I tells ya!

In it's current form, EVE just wouldn't work on a console. Too much pointing and clicking. It would just feel too much like a PC game (I know it IS a PC game, but it's not good when it's on a console :P)
A kind of space combat game set in the EVE universe, i.e. not an MMO, just go to lobby, start a match and start fighting with ships. (Not like the current system, think X-Wing vs Tie-fighter [only game that came to mind]).
That type of game would work on a console, but I doubt it would have any appeal to so0meone who has never played EVE, and be written off as some 'wannabe star wars game'.
Also, someone also pointed out it would eat up development time from the real EVE. Not worth the effort imho.
And just incase I didn't make it obvious, EVE as it is on a conso0le, flat out NO.

Oh, dear, you're very right. I can imagine that already. Every time you die, you respawn completely intact, brand new ship, no penalties, skills train super quickly and through grinding time instead of over normal time, PvP is completely balanced towards the popular, easy to use race (likely Caldari or Gallente), etc, etc.

OMG please no, that stupid Dreck-box already ruined the Elderscrolls series by getting a haggle of total morons playing Morrowind and then Oblivion had to be made a lot dumber so they wouldn't get confused by radical concepts like being able to wear a different shoulder plate on each arm, or being able to wear armor under a robe...
Consoles are ruining videogames in general, there is just no quality games anymore, it's always exactly the same trash, horribly bugged games chucked at the market before they are really done. If anyone comes up with a great new idea and the press likes it huge companies buy out the makers, gut the project, throw the game half finished on the market and use the pre-takeover hype to sell it, there goes the gaming industry.
Please CCP stay the hell away from those stupid consoles. Nothing good ever comes of that, every company that started making console games inevitably ended up making stupid games, because stupid sells. The real gems of the gaming world are those little niche games like Eve that don't want to just appeal to the stupid console playing masses.

Seriously, Eve is too good for consoles. There's no way you can bring the game to a 6 button system without screwing it up for everybody else. Leave the 360 to fighting games and other lacking games like Halo and Madden '06. Eve is too good to be thrown amongst the garbage.

FF XI was ported to the XBox 360 and that didn't adversely affect that game.
*Hasn't played FF XI in more than two years because it sucked to begin with (got it as a christmas present and didn't even finish the trial month).*

A lot of knew jerk responses here - why so paranoid?
I don't think it would make much difference to be honest - it would need to use a mouse and keyboard, something most xbox owners don't have.
I don't know about the 360 but the original xbox was very similar to a standard windows PC, porting would still take some time but probably no more than the eve mobile project they're working on.
I also don't believe an xbox owner is any worse than a large portion of the players in eve - they'll probably goto low sec and shoot stuff so that should please you

I have 360 and would love yo see it come out for 360. 360 can use a USB keyboard and USB mouse. Also, seeing how many idiots, griefers, thieves, carebears, PKers, already play eve, it appears to me that we already have equal representation among all types of gamers. I've been gaming since atari 2600 and console games have never and still don't have the depth the PC games do. Although I do have an xbox but thats for the quick gaming fix. It does help to play poker while traveling in EVE for a long distance.

WTF some guy just locked me really quick in my battleship because he used omgwtf uber h4xploit of two key buttons.
Yes thats right these scumbags have both the CTRL button and a mouse button and if they click them in some voodoo fashion it locks my ship. This is totally biased bull against us gamepad users and if it dosent end i will quit and sue you.
