Leave Consoles to the quick twitch combat game and the other genres they do so well and leave the thinking games to the rest of us.
WHY? are you superior in "brain power"? does it help you if I say I played with geeks on xbox live? does it help if I let you know that their is actually ppl playing both xbox and 360 with mouse and keyboard? cause it is! and does it help if I tell you many EVE players also has a console? and still plays this? it could work really well with Xbox live. It could and one shouldnt dog on the XBL community. And their is alot of console games with alot of depth. Even back into nintendo 8bit days.

You could run it on this. Apart from the fact that those specs aren't all that low, remember the 360's operating system and hardware is going to be architectured differently, and the CPU is a custom built one. It wouldn't have a problem running the client. That said, I still think it's a terrible idea.

Superior brain power? Probably not and I have no problem with games that require little or no brain power. First week of playing GTA San andreas was spent mostly driving around like a complete idiot and causing mayhem on the streets . Real high brain power stuff.
Perhaps I should have phrased it differently and said that the consoles IMHO attract a different type of gamer. Thinking and strategy games for the PC and consoles for the quick twitch type games as their basic types. This does not mean there cannot be some crossover. Stratagy games can of course turn their hand to reaction and technique games and vice versa. Simply suggesting that XBOX stick with what their good at and Eve isn't it.

well thats cool to hear, but no I played XBL since beta really and I dont agree with the perception many has on the community.
Their is so many hardcore gamers playing XBL. Heck a so called "simple" FPS we as clans would play and practise daily for some years to master. Even the casual gamer aint that different from most gamers (causal to) in EVE. With the gamertag it aint nothing like PS2 online. And you have and more MMO games comming for xbox and 360. So besides CCP/cash/time their is no reason to not do it demographic wise or community or technical reasons. That I see, but its not that important to happen. I know if you released it now it would beat FFXI easy, and many play that, cause its the only one on 360.
Anyway hope Huxley will kick ass, if EVE doesnt make 360

FF got panned by most console oweners cause they dont realise teh extra cost involved in running a mmo
imho its a waste of dev time for something that will have limited appeal
Well thats because you pay for both internet then live And then the MMO's monthly fee. But to be honest I heard more whining about paying 15dollars for EVE on PC then I heard ppl whining about it on Xbox. But then again noone uses XBL forums anyway get back to your rabble rabble rabble.
PS: Ppl here got some real issues. I dont see this hate against console owners making any sense. Did someone with a Nintendo beat you up when you were a kid, screaming "MArio, MArio"?
i assume you can use a search function, the xbox forums is are full of rants about having to pay for FF and in teh future Huxley, so what if you have to pay for inet xbl and mmo X's subs fee, xbl is not an optional extra so big bad bill forced that upon 360 gamers if they wanna play mmo's xbl sub is 45 a year or something so hardly a fortune, the fact is teh average console gamer doesnt see why they should pay more for a game this is teh single biggest reason eve and any other mmo will never be big on consoles and teh same reason no mmo dev has or will ever release a mmo on a console only platform, im not against consoles at all, i love my 360- and have a ps3 on pre order . some genres belong on some platforms MMO's are the plaything for PC gamers, and thats teh way it will prob stay
what actual benefits would ccp see from a 360 release apart from you thinking its an awesome idea , limited appeal to teh console gamer, dev time taken away from its core user base , a clumsy content delivery system that comes bundled with the 360 making future updates and patching a nightmare, i think it wouldnt work , i am expressing my opinion please have the decency to not be a smack tard and dismiss me because you disagree

you would need a USB keyboard and mouse that is supported by Xbox just to use EVE, also EVE isnt controler compatable and a console really doesnt offer any advantage to the MMO.
however a purpose coded mmo space sim for consoles would be fun. however since consoles are ment to be used with a controler it would have to be more of a space simulator like the Xwing games.

Ugh.
No.
First, it would dilute the interface by having to adapt the game to be playable via one of those horrid little joypads.
Second, EVE isn't a game that's well suited to the typical console gameer. You can't just flip it on, play for 15 minutes, and flip it off. Well, I suppose you can... but 15 hours is more like it.
Third, CCP would have to invest in producing physical media again, with all the headaches of marketing, packaging, distribution, handling returns.
To me, this falls into the same category as EVE under Linux (or MacOS X). I don't want CCP to shift any manpower away from fixing bugs, improving gameplay, and building content for the 2% of the user base who are too stubborn to use a Windows PC.
<=----=> Vila Restal: I'm entitled to my opinion. Kerr Avon: It is your assumption that we are entitled to it as well that is irritating.

oh man, i had NO idea the XBOX community was hated to this degree. I'm actually a middle aged man with children, I just purchased an xbox360 last week.
Had I known the resounding annimosity towards xbox live gamers, I would have neva initiated this thread. I did play against a few other people using Madden 2006, and they all seemed mature (using that term loosly).
Kinda wish i could burn and bury this thread..

S-video you mean? HDTV is what it was meant for but it's flaw is that it doesn't carry the sound so you need an extra lead from the sound card to the TV.
Believe me, Eve looks awesome on a 54 inch HDTV using the Svideo lead from the graphic card. Just a real shame I could never even dream of affording a screen like that

Oh dear god no.
Nothing good can happen for EvE by porting to the xbox.
The Xbox crowd would be nothing but a headache. I still want to slap Bethesda for what they did to Oblivion to cater to the Xbox360.

A simply terriable idea. You would be using a not so popular platform, and supporting Bill Gates which just makes my stomach lurch. Go for the PS3, that would be a system which would put Eve in more homes than anything else.
PS CCP would ya fix the forums, this is getting annoying. Used two different computers in two different cities, doesn't seem to be on this end.

Edited by: Shimpu on 14/07/2006 00:11:40 Guys. I have ze idea!!! Make a XBox Live Arcade game where you can join fights via a "instant action" option. Then you are materialized into a drone or fighter drone and control it like in a action space sim. The drone/fighter owner does the target locking and you have to "pew! pew!" the target and get points in a ladder. Lacking drone intelligence problem solved (well, it depends ^^) and people could play "Eve Action".
I think this would actually be brilliant!

I really don't think a lot of the xbox community would be able to enjoy eve and I don't think a lot of the eve community would enjoy them in eve neither. I am glad that the game is complex enough to scare most premature players away, well most of them.
