Dracomir

I purchased this character (yes, the one I am posting with) today, and everything was as
it was advertised to be, except for a couple of old EVE-Mails that were left in the
folder. I open them and find out I just bought a Corp thief. Evidently the previous
owner was a member of a corp called Flashman Services and he ripped them off, then
unloaded the character on to someone else. Anyone have any suggestions as to how to
repair a reputation like this? Or am I just stuck with him? Anyone willing to give me a
chance to prove myself? I like this character, but don't want to live in an NPC Corp
forever.

How can anyone really trust you. You could have put up a fake auction and still be the original character trying to dump some heat. You queue jumped ahead so you should be happy in any case, npc corps are not that bad.

Eve is a big place. So what if one corp hates you, is it really that big of a deal? 99.9% of EvE isn't going to have any clue of your reputation.
If people keep harasing you with mails and what not, just block them or petition them.

I expected maybe some baggage such as having a few enemies or some toes stepped on in
the past, but this is more than I had bargained for. I suppose I can find a corp
eventually, it's just going to be a lot harder, and my options are more limited now. |

Actually, it sounds like you got exactly what you bargained for. Perhaps you should be more careful next time. Caveat emptor.

It wasn't just a corp you ripped off Dracomir but you left a single person that had played eve for years with absolutely nothing... His trust was his downfall but bottom line, it was your actions that made him not enjoy playing the game anymore.
I kind of lied there. He didn't lose absolutely everything He still had friends; close friends and they are not the forgive and forget type I'm afraid.

The post above is a perfect example of what I was afraid of. There really is no way
to prove that I'm not who he says I am, or to prove that I AM who I say I am.

Personally, even if I happened to believe you, I'd still never accept you as a member. First, you have just illustrated that you prefer the easy way to achieve things intead of hard work, second, you either have a rich main or acquired that char by other means *cough*.
However, good luck. :)
P.S. Maybe you can find some people who knew the old Draco on ts and pursuade them that way.

If Dracomir has been 'sold' then I truly am sorry for you but as you yourself stated... there's no way to prove it one way or the other.
Way I look at it you got several options. - Resell the character: not the most honourable thing to do but you get your isk back - Delete the character: so you're out of pocket, perhaps it's a lesson well learned - Live life in an NPC corp: not very fun - Carry on as normal: Hope that you don't bump up with any Flashmans crew or Bufos mates

Message someone from Flashman, ask to get on their TS/ventrilo and speak. Amazingly, if you are a different person behind the character, you will probably have a different voice.

Didn't think of TS/Ventrillo, give me a yell in game and we'll hook something up if you are a different guy

I'd say more people know about his reputation now than they did before.
Probably would have been better to keep quiet or post with an alt. Oh well.

or possibly, u can petition saying that the name is offensive to many people cause the previous owner was a corp thief, and for them to check that tha ccount was transffered. and if it is indeed so maybe its possible that they would change the name? no guarantees :| ------------------------------------------------ NEWLY ADDED ON 1/19 (though applies to all posts before ;p)
the usual "I don't represent my corp or alliance" and stuffs like that

How did you pay for the character? If you paid with isks, who did you transfer them to? Maybe that would be useful information.

Most people buy more characters because they want a change from what they are doing or to cover all bases while playing. Example: My main is a Mission runner, always have been and always will be. (One man Corp) Alt 1: is for pvping in 0.0 space. (Large player Corp) Alt 2: is a miner and a industrialist. (NPC Corp)
All 3 are pretty much maxed out in their field and I didn't have to stop or divert training to get them there.
But I'll provide Dracomir with another option; He could just train that character for pvp or pirating. So if and when you guys or anyone else come looking, he'll be ready... And might have little fun while he's at it.
That's the luxury of having multiple characters and accounts. That and the money to spend....

Edited by: Amthrianius on 11/07/2006 06:54:16 Looking at your gramatical and writing style and comparing it to your "old owners" previous post's leads me to conclude you are the same person. I guess you are just trying to clean your rep by pretending to be a bought char?

I somehow doubt it will be needed. Those doublebreaks from 5 months ago are kind of significant. So is the rest of the writing style. Heh. :)
Like here
