Only if the crash is CCP's fault. They don't control your PC, or your internet connection. If something goes wrong and it is outside of CCP's control, tough.
Petitions like "Ohnoez, I lost my CNR because my router blew up / net connection dropped / house got struck by lightning/ I fell asleep / my graphics card exploded / the game acted in a way that I didn't expect (but correctly)" should not only be denied, but the person petitioning should be warned / banned / hunted down by ninja goldfish.
If it isn't CCP's fault, why should they compensate you?

What are the "various issues" that GM Arkanon mentioned that caused this situation?
Understaffing? technical problems?
I know a number of friends who have important petitions that have recieved 0 word from customer support in over a week, im sure they would like to know what the various issues are. --------------- Havocide - Old School For Old Fools F-E Forum // RKK Forum |

Obviously the GM's are undermanned and overworked. Especially with petitions that should not have been petitioned in the first place. Sarcasm on "I suggest outsourcing all these spurious petitions to India in a new GM center there."

You guys have my sympathy, and TBH there's ALOT the dev team could and indeed should be doing to reduce this.
Looking at frequent and persistant problems and asking can we put a ingame system in place that's well designed to negate more of these types of problems.

Yes, it's only one (or two, if you have the problem with not being signed automatically) more click, but it's a sad fact that people will avoid reading something if it takes more effort than the absolutely necessary (yet, ironically, this people go into loads of effort to whine about their menial problems).
You misread the reason behind the Blog and the response not being on the same page...
Its called PR ... The Blogs used to have the responses on the same page... but that can lead to very bad PR if the list of responses is overly negative... so they prevented responses on the same page as the blog...
And moved to a forum reply that links (very badly as it takes 3-4 attempts to get it) to the blog... avoids Mr and Mrs journalist reviewing the web site to see too much of the whines after the blog...

I did as well... popped up with the 'is this still active' autoreply... so I I replied that it was...and am now ready to wait another month... for another autoreply asking me if the petition is still active...
Since this is a reimbursement petition linked to that Friday during which they urgently patched concord during DT due to concord not reacting to aggression in empire under specific circumstances, I suspect by the Time GM Noob reviews this 2 months after the incident and either has no clue of what happened that day or isn't inclined to check properly... I can pretty much already tell you what my response will be initially...
'Blah blah blah ...sorry we checked the logs and there is no instance of the events you mention, according to our logs you were concordokken for killing an alliance mate in empire... blah blah blah , we are very glad to help, call on us at anytime ! (sic)'
From there on its either you have extreme patience to explain over and over what happened until someone who recalls the incident knows where and what to check ... or you loose patience and they claim they resolved the petition...
Can you tell I'm not impressed ?
edit: For the record the petition was filled in early June... yeah 1 month ago... I don'#t usually get excited until 2 weeks elapse... I don't petition often and I know what to expect... but a full month to get an automated reply... I checked the calender... no its not the 1st of April... so what is this ? Are you trying to build a case study for HBR on the worst CRM service ever ?

so i guess the peeps ingame filing petitions over gameyeah.com (mass spam ingame CCP should just ban the address any mails that do send it - by the way its an ISK selling for $$ spam mail i get at least 3 a week and so do corp mates we had been petitioning but might reduce the amount seeing as tho CCP havent taken much action on it) simple way would be any evemails with that website included should vanish and not reach the recipiant
2nd issue is macro miners and ISK farmers still there are 12 months of constant petitions - ok so CCP banned 100 accounts if they nerfed the more skilled ones in mining apocs then it would hit em harder but hey i guess they keep mineral prices down and with higher bounties from NPCs allow u to make ships cheaper and into PVP etc and ship replacemetns much quicker so not many complains there either.
Otherwise all good always had good responses to my valid and well thought out petitions - probably why i do get a response sa i only generally petition something important if i loose a mission ship to lag or mass aggro i simply check the forums and decline that mission till its fixed. Lag happens well if its a mass combat sitatuaion ie fleet battle i just put it down to a loss and fly what i can afford.

No I petitioned because the fix they implemented also had the rather uncool effect of being concordokken when shooting valid war targets in empire under specific circumstances after that DT
And I lost a 500M curse to that silly fix side effect...

No, actually has nothing to do with that. There was always the comments section, and there was a forum thread too, so peoples comments were spread in two different places which wasn't good to begin with. Moderating the Dev Blog section was very hard, sometimes even next to impossible, the tools for the forums are much better. That's the full reason we removed the comments part of Dev Blogs.

there was a slight hint of sarcasm in my post mr.alt , thats how you have to type for them to understand what you are saying, obviously english isnt there first language which is silly when it is the games.
lame for you to have to post that with an alt aswell guess your a scarred little man who has to hide behind people in real life or did you post with an alt because you fear i might go and rip some of your posts apart for bad grammer and punctuation? im not that sad like you obviously apear to be

I agreee ccp must have the worst fourms in the history of man, even thou i keep my password saved it takes me 15 clicks to read any dev post in work, and then another 5 to hit replay and some times 4 attempts to post (like this one taking me 4 goes up till now).
The fourms need a majour over hall, I dont know what they are based upon but loggin in should not be so hard. ----------------------------------------------

I may not be aswell educated as you sir, But I can understand broken English which is what the GM's should be capable of seeing as English isn't the primary language for a large ammount of subscribers..
FYI I was born in Nottingham, England and I am not as stupid as you may think. My wife is capable of perfect English ,German and Norwegian but she does not see her self as beeing above me just because my use of grammer and punctuation is not perfect. if you were born in nottingham you would probably be the same
heres a nice quote from one of the people who were headmaster of the secondary school i went to (btw he stayed for about 1 year .
Quote: Problems associated with pupil behaviour are likely to be of long-standing in schools entering Special Measures. As John Dryden, head of Alderman Derbyshire School describes it: ęPupils have often been poorly taught by staff who donĘt stay long. So they achieve little, bunk off and misbehave, reinforcing its (the schoolĘs) poor reputationĘ.14 Poor teaching and poor behaviour are, in short, inextricably linked. To make progress on one requires progress on the other.
