Niiiiiiice!
Pretty damn sure we'll run out of bookmark space quickly, but this just means we need to be careful and only bookmark the important stuff....

I think the storage of things like bookmarks and overview settings on the server is great, but I desperately want the ability to export/import this stuff to a local file as well. Mostly I want to use export/import to share bookmarks between my characters, but we've already seen that this sort of thing has unexpected uses that the player community has thought of. Exporting fittings into EFT, for example.
So, CCP, you've clearly already learned that export/import is good, because we now have it for fittings and overview settings. Why not for bookmarks too? In fact, since you already know it's good, why should I even have to ask for it on a case-by-case basis? Just be consistent and let us import/export pretty much anything that you ever add to the game that would make sense to import/export!
If there is some reason that you don't want us to be able to do this, fine; but please give me some other way to move the dozens of tactical bookmarks I've got on one of my characters to my other character. Forcing me to copy/trade them little by little, or to simply make a whole other set of bookmarks on each character is just pointless tedium that doesn't improve the player experience at all. |

but we'll still get idiots accidentally creating them all the ******* time and it'll be a huge pain in the ass clearing them to stay under 250 but nobody will actually ever successfully awox with it |

250 bookmarks doesn't seem to be very many if everyone in the corp can create them. Couldn't you give CEOs/Directors some options about who can create them, or some kind of moderation for BMs?

As long as they don't break that, it's easy peasy.

Thats why you'll be able to see who created them. Someone keeps making these, or keeps spamming useless bookmarks, you boot them. Plain and simple. Don't need CCP to hold your hand about it. |

Current Sisi build for me.
Drag and drop from Personal locations to Corp works. Clunky fuctionality to move new BM to corp got to resort order of personal and then drag and drop. Good but bad.
Right click save location has a tab that should allow me to save to corp locations only has personal.
Drop down fuctionality bad. Two clickable boxs better click corp and personal to save in both places.
Corp locations can not be differiniated in the in space right click menu. Could be better.
Any one else find any edge cases that you think should be working but are not.
Good but could be improved. |

We tried to keep this really simple for now. I for one thing that the role restriction is exceptionally clever. Someone in the corp can fill up your corp bookmarks with crap however everybody will know who did it. If you don't have the communication officer you will only be able to delete bookmarks that you put there.
The choice of communcation officer as a role was actually suggested here on the forums. I realize that it might not be a role that is ideal for every corporation but the idea was to keep this simple for now.
I fully expect that some people will try to "game" the system in order to get "instant bookmark distribution". We however didn't want to gimp this feature for something that may or may not be an issue. We will be monitoring the player behavior and if we feel that the user experience has changed to the worse we will act on it.
Note: The bookmarks have always been stored server side and always will be. The reason being that we can't trust the client to supply us with a valid bookmark and therefore we always need to do some basic check when you try to warp to them. It's only the folders that was moved to the server. https://gate.eveonline.com/Profile/CCP%20Tuxford/StatusUpdates |

As someone already said, would it be possible to (optionally) restrict Corp Locations to characters that have at last basic corp roles? No roles - no access.
That way corporations will be able to CHOOSE to restrict access to these locations to characters that make it through a trial period. |

I have been testing wormhole stuff on Singularity the past few days and corp bookmarks are even more awesome than they sound. Really great feature. I also think that limiting them is not bad, forces people to not clutter their corp BM folders.
Special congratulations on your solution to the corp role problem and who can create and delete what. I think it's perfect.
Some minor suggestions: - if I move a personal BM to corp locations without holding shift, do not copy the BM, but move it. I don't need every BM twice, right? If I want to keep it in my personal folder too, I can hold shift while dragging it - In right-click menu in space, display which BMs are personal and which are corp. I think corp BMs should always be in their own subfolder, while personal BMs are right on top |

We have a task on our list to make a shortcut key to bookmark current location that will open up a pop-up where you can put it into any of your personal or corporation folders and choose a custom name for it, or simply hit enter as soon as the pop-up appears to quickly store the default 'Location' name to the default folder.

Good but could be improved.
The current SiSi built doesn't have the full intended functionality, the update tomorrow should have the drop down including both personal and corporation sections with their folders listed as well, so you can save a Location directly into a folder. I can't promise it will go in tomorrow, but I'm crossing my fingers
