Woot, just got a new laptop that has the lcd display on it.
The system name you are in, and local count would be nice to see eh? Also, since the combat logs report to a file, couldn't you route the log file into the lcd? Actually, couldn't you do that with any log info?
Additionally, it would be straight awesome to have fleet broadcasts blinking on the lcd window.....man....talk about nice.

In my Oppionion this is a useless Feature. If you need this Crap Feature program it yourself using the API!

wouldn't your post(and the other 2 or 3) be better in it's own thread entitled "We don't want CCP to support the G15" ?

Although having support for the G15 would be nice (I have one, its great etc etc), currently theres a gadget for windows vista that does some of the things people are wanting in this thread. It list you ISK amount, the name of the skill your training and the time it has left, your character name and if you click on it, it pops open and shows what corp your in/what race you are etc.

Hey I'm also looking for a g15 mod for this game that does many of things listed in this thread. Does anyone know of a good one that's available (currently I'm just used the EveMon skill tracker g15 display, which is nice, but very limited).

I already use the "G" keys for spread or alpha strikes while ratting out in 0.0 and for Drone Recalls, Drone Attacks, etc.
I got to say for me it really eases my eyes just hitting a single key. Theres no advantage. If I meet someone with bigger guns and better skills then the G15 wont save me.. :)
Would be nice to have extra features though. To those without the KB who say it aint fair, theres new hardware coming into the PC/Games market everyday, You cant stop us. You'll probably eventually join us. Everything moves on.

I guess I really don't understand how this got to 10 pages. I don't see the advantage in the feature requests here.
Can someone please explain? Why would take your eyes off the monitor to look at the keyboard for information that is available on the monitor?
The info that people are requesting is already available in a much more user friendly manner than a simple LCD screen.
Also people are asking for much more information than the screen can display. Are you saying you want to take your eyes off the monitor watch the screen cycle until the info you want appears rather than simply looking at the monitor where the info is immediately available?

Although the information is (of course) available through the game client getting it tends to interrupt what you're doing.
If I'm running a mission or working the market and suddenly wonder what skill I'm training and when it completes I only have to look down at the G15 for a while. Even better it cycles through all accounts so I can even find out the situation for chars that are off-line.
My G15 also provides information about TS and Vent.
None of this is 'must have' but it's more convenient and in the case of skill training of off-line chars is very sweet.

So to avoid disrupting your mission and/or market work you stop paying attention to your mission and market work and then wait for the screen to cycle to the info you want. Isn't that the exact definition of an interruption?

I had a look at gizmod - it would take quite a lot of work to get that working - its mainly intended for using any device to control any ap.. rather than any app to control any device.. although it could do that with some shoe-horning.
It would be a much more elegant solution if eve supported the g15 directly... come on CCP.. if 'evemon' can do it..

Evemon uses the lcd screen, and with the pres of a button you can view progrss of skills, but things like knowing what system you are in and wallet size are pretty much useless, what would be the point of using a monitor. there is also a tool for team speak and ventrilo, the mods are allready out there out there
