i think its funny you say its a login trap maybe alot of them logged on to help defend but they were outside system, and used a Cyno-field if they had been logged in you would have gotten exactly the same notice as you did.
Seems like you are trying to make an excuse for such a devastating loss.
Unless your saying you wouldnt have attacked the pos if those pilots in your address where logged on. which is the same tactic in reverse kind of."Lets wait till all there capitol ship pilots log off before we attack.". Maybe more of an accepted practice but still the same thing.

I belive evil thug is right with the numbers he present.. I`ve only up to date seen 9 killmails from the RA big loss...
Anyway.. login in in a different system is per definition not a logintrap that CCP declared and exploit a long time ago..
THis is why siege mode last 10 mins.. so that the enemy will have a chanse to attack you when you have dreads working..
The noobs are the one not providing sufficient support to fend of an attack if it comes.
Both coalition and RA have learnt that in the past. I`m a bit amused that era had to do the same mistake and allso in a system where its not at all important to kill towers as the sovereignity adn majority controll of moons are in friendly hands.
Rumours tell me that ERA were specifically told to not bother up there. Sorry guys you ****** up. and I got to say that you should take your loss as men and quit complaining to logintraps.
You ****** up, simple as that.
I`m no supporter of RA but this is still quite amusing :D

its actually impossible to call a cynnoed capital fleet to call a "log in" trap.

RA logon trap.
We went into siege, they logged 15-20 cap ship pilots on immediately, cyno'd in, dropped bookmark bombs, killed 10 dreads and lost 2.
GF.
What's a bookmark bomb?
It is what coalition likes to use as their tactics. I dont know much. ask them.

Yeah it wasnt a logon trap, RA just happened to have 22 capitals logged off fully fueled and armed all within jumprange of eastern cache. Whom all mysteriously logged on seconds after the ERA dreads assaulted thier P7- Pos and jumped in within 2 minutes in the middle of the night.
It wasnt a logon trap

Edited by: KIATolon on 23/07/2006 01:33:45 20 cap ship pilots logging on in simultaneously to trap someone that doesn't have the ability to react is a logon trap. I never said it was illegal, I just said it occurred.
If their cap ships pilots had been online we wouldn't have engaged their POS.
A bookmark bomb is a can full of bookmarks, such as we blew up from your other POS.

They lost 3 dreads (moros, rev, naglfar) and someone mentioned a carrier altho i havent seen a killmail for that so unconfirmed.
They had 12 dread and ~ 8-10 carriers vs our 11 dreads

Absolutely correct. We were moving 22 capital ships for 2-3 hours before fight. Cynofileds could be clearly seen all round Cache region for hours. And before attacking a well armed POS it's a good idea to check cyno fields around.

I know im not as experienced as you all in the art of pos takedowns seeing as i have only kiled like 10 but it would seem to me you shouldnt put in 10 dreads that you cant defend and then complain about it.

Crappy luck, ERA. Chins up, I know you'll prevail. It's not as though you were beaten in an even fight, they just got a chance to blob you.

By this words u confirm using game mechanics (cheking online status) by your self. So if you use this mechanics to guard your self from atack, why cant we log (in other system) to use some mechanics to pass this guard.

Edited by: Moominer on 23/07/2006 02:04:25 If CCP were to outlaw this kind of operation, what would a "legitimate" version have looked like? Some random musings:
- RA cap fleet would have had to be ingame, obviously. - If the RA cap fleet was ingame (and not docked or in a pos) you could have located them and gone for them, rather than the station/POS? - If the RA cap fleet was ingame, would coalition even have attacked the objective knowing the threat? - Risk ending up with a situation where people only attack when you are 100% certain your enemy is offline. Is that any fairer than the current situation? "Timezone warfare" whine will follow :S - None of this is really enforceable by CCP
BoBs answer to this is never move your cap fleet without appropriate support. That's the obvious solution here.
Harsh loss, definatly difficult to take considering the "unsporting" situation it was taken under. Cant wait to watch the vid though. Eve Fitting Manager

u did not.
just stop complaining on login trap. we did not log on your head. and as I said before, if both of our sides did not used game mechanics u even would not know wether we are loged in or not.
so just take it as it is.

hmm, login trap or whatever aside...i always give respect too people who defend themselves. One thing set aside....getting those kind of cap ship numbers at what sounds like oddball time of day is impressive by any measure.
Shame RA didn't put as much participation into the tournament....might've gained some respect

You're going to have to quote Tolon's exact words and explain how they are a complaint, because from what I can see he is not complaining.

Correct it's called a trap ... they knew where you were going to be and hit and waited for you to take the bait ... RA did a great job on tactics on this one
Have great respect for BOS and Mill and feel for the loss . Congrats on taking 3 down under such odds

Perhaps if we a lucky, CCP will see to change Log on traps in much the same way they did when RED was abusing, carriers, or POS's.
