REVENGE ANGEL Minmatar	Posted - 2006.07.23 02:56:00 - [1] Bored and looking for a little excitement I undocked and started tanking the enemy army with my carrier for sh!ts and giggles. No problems, I was within docking range and had done it a multitude of times before. I have not CTD'd in forever so was willing to take the risk. I was being hit by a huge fleet but was still agroing some nearby frigs and cruisers with smart bombs and waves of some disposable heavy drones (too many hostiles to loose the fighters)... Eh, had plenty of cap left and no probs with the tank. Once I got down to half cap I stopped the smartbombs, recalled drones and watched the "drones in local" drop to 0. I waited for the agro timer to end so I could dock and hung around for a while to see how long the tank would hold against the onslaught. It was doing well for quite some time considering the imense amount of firepower the enemy was unloading into my arse Ok, well guess it's time to dock and chat with the locals, have a few laughs... uh oh, the dock doesnt seem to be responding, lemme do the drop list and select dock that way... hmmm, no response.... not good. Lemme see if I can do anything else... nope can't select another target in over view. Ok, this is strange, I can still be seen typing in alliance, gang and corp chat... weird. Ok, this is getting serious, my cap is almost gone... it's ok, be patient, you'll see yourself docking any second now Hey now, I'm starting to go into armor... crap, now i'm into structure . Hmmmm, why am I holding at 1/2 structure? How deep does this rabbit hole go? Hey, why's my mail flashing? DAMNIT, thats my kill mail. An hour later, i'm still looking at my ship, people can still see me typing in chat and I have my own kill mail from an hour ago... priceless. To those that said "dont lie about a bug" I would say the following screen shot proves I wasnt lieing Borked You tell em I'm coming, and HECK'S COMING WITH ME! Sorry, I've been attending anger management :(

Double TaP The Establishment	Posted - 2006.07.23 03:33:00 - [5] i was running a mission the other day, and i pressed the warp button and my ship started doing that collision thing. thing was, nothing was within 15km of me. so i did the same thing you did, told myself it was going to be okay, il be warping any second. i stopped my ship, canceled warp, and then pressed warp again. once again started doing the collision with nothing thing, and watched my nighthawk go pop. rather depressing as any petition you file will be answered sometime around the release of kali 3.

I never fly anything I can't afford to lose but this was a crappy way to lose a ship. The ship itself is only a fraction of the value of the loss I estimate it's value in the area of 3-4 billion, about a months worth of my t2 sales. If my backup carrier suffers the same fate... I have a 400mb fraps of my ship orbiting it's target, and other ships shooting. Nothing I selected on the UI actually functioned. Reason? Because my ship was already destroyed and I had been podded. No refund. The Battleships is not and should not be a solo pwnmobile - Oveur

(wasted 15 minutes of my life afterwards trying to tell them i wasnt doing some 'dishonorable logoff to save your ship tactic' because i had a spitout bookmark. one member of the blob responded by concluding that their heavy missile/nos typhoon setup is indeed superior.) anyways i didn't petition it, as i believe that when theres such a large number of ships against you at once, lag isnt exactly some surprise you never expect to have when pvping. My best one was when I was in my pod, NEXT TO my ship while it was on fire but apparently intact and still orbitting as I had told it to. I couldn't move but I had my own killmail, and chat was working. GMs won't do squat. Sorry for your loss.

However, i havnt been able to still get my mail to load if client de-synced. Mail loads = still connected. Check the ss again. The thing that ccp can say, is u still had agrro from something tho. cause the real question is, why didnt ur ship dock?

Maybe CCP will think that its a second carrier and you deleted/hadnt got the second killmail just yet. dunno but GL with the pettition.

Also, if you were sitting there doing nothing, but could load your mail (so weren't DCed), why didn't you get podded? Are youi seriously suggesting that you were allowed to sit outside the station without being podded for 40mins, with that many hostiles around you?

Very Strange indeed. EDIT: I would definately cross reference with the person that has the killmail on you the time....or if I was CCP I would do that.

You could tank our long range Battleships, you've been doing it on more than once occasion, got brave moved out of docking range blabbing on about how it tickles. Then we moved in close, webbed/nossed/scrambled you down and let you have it. you panicked and double boosted = cap gone. Then you died. You were in a dictor bubble and your pod got popped too. You were outside that station for almost an hour, no one else had any lag. You couldnt dock as you were atleast 5 kilometres out of docking range, you were 5 km out of docking range before we even started shooting you that time. 150 people in local, only about 55 in that fight. So where did the lag come from? We didnt get any. _____ There's so many different worlds So many different suns And we have just one world But we live in different ones

Smartbombs aren't allowed within 5km of any station. However, as it's conquerable, the protection doesn't work properly. You were indeed using a bug which you should be aware of that because of the recent events in xzh involving a dominix that got a warning. I believe discussing GM actions such as warnings isn't allowed on these forums? Also how would you know a warning was given unless you were the pilot in question, the GM form letter is deliberately vague as to not tell the petitioner if any action was taken or not- to preserve the confidentiality between the user and CCP.
