Please tell me that you are a troll. Failfit 2000?
This is more like it.
While not permatanked, it's more than +50% dps step up from your fit, and that's WITHOUT drones, mind you. Add another 124 DPS for the drones (with my skills). Sure, it ain't cheap, but damn yours ain't either. If you overload the shieldbooster you get a peak DPS tanked of over 1200 incoming dps. Enough to replenish the shield even in the gravest situations. And yes, I face mostly Sanshas. (haven't bothered changing missiles to Paradise in EFT).
Get a few hardwirings in there and you're way above 700 dps. You'll kill stuff so fast you won't even need to tank. If you're feeling weak, get a set of low grade crystals and you'll tank anything. At present, my booster reps 1050 shield every 4 seconds. Or 1200-ish something every 3.4 seconds.
Sorry if I sound harsch, but that fit of yours really isn't optimal in any way. I've only once needed to bail out with this fit, and that was during a full stage aggro when I was having my attention elsewhere and didn't notice the catastrophy until at 40-50% armor. Even then I managed to tank the incoming dps, but it was just too much to tank it any longer time, and I couldn't kill enough BS to bring the DPS down in time. Other than such a scenario (where everything but a deadspace/officer tank will break), this fit is sleepmode thru missions.
Balance is important, but you will always adapt to changing circumstances and you don't whine about stuff you can't change. |

fail fit +2 mate, im sorry about that but wtf? 2 ****ing Booster amps? well done mate, way to lower your resists fully, you DONT need all that boost, for no reason mate. just no, you'll tank more, with higher resists Obviously.
yes, i notice its called "Burst tank" whats the point of having a Faction ship, if your not gunna spend Cash to Faction fit it ? waste of money, sell it, and buy a normal raven tbh.

Ok here goes *braces for impact* This is what I am fitting to permatank - according to EFT nothing else works with what I have: Hi: 7Cruises and a drone link aug Meds: 4 t2 hardeners, x-large booster, Boost amplifier Lows: 4 t2 Cap Power Relays, BCS II
3-CCCs in the Rig slots
This crazy? Seems to work and I have not had any issues so far.

Edited by: Kadoes Khan on 06/09/2008 21:07:24 My CNR fit for missions
Modify hardeners to fit missions, you have a free mid slot with a lot of room to stick something in there so if you want a NOS or drone link(like a remote armor rep to heal drones) you can throw those in. If you can't afford the ~1.5B for a gist booster grab a CN one. I don't like the C and B type boosters as they are really only helpful if you are trying to perma tank which is frankly a waste in missions.
I carry a flight of light drones to take care of some smaller things(they knock them out faster than a med will). My character in EFT has no implants on either so if you use crystals or toss on +cruise damage stuff you can greatly improve the setup(I'm actually running +5 implants and some other useless hardwirings cause I'm to lazy to buy good stuff ^_^). -=^=- "Someday the world will recognize the genius in my insanity." |

As this a pvp setup the above setup would fail as you couldnt hit anything orbiting outside 30kms and thats with max skills and implants, might get just past 30kms with implants. So although you would have awsome dps with that setup you would take forever in pve chasing down npcs, you need at least an AB on that fit for it to work. Torps for pve mean missle range and flight time rigs and t2 launchers, and since that screws ur cap u will need a cap injector with 400 or 800s in your setup. However with max skills this setup will fire javs past 70kms.

am i the only one who likes his Passiv Tank Navy Raven ?
Low 3x CN BCU 2x Beta SPR
Mid 3x Large Extender II 1x CN Invu 2x Rat Spec Hardender
High 7x CN Cruise 1x Dronelink Aug ( = 60 Km Drone range with my skills )
i Tank ~ 600 DPS and Deliver also ~ 600 DPS and i am a relativ new pilot with ~10M SP and nearly no maxed out skills. with Higher skills it will get a lot better and i have totally no probs with level4 missions and its a really nice bonus to have 25000 Shield if someone wants to Suicide Gank you.

Quite likely minority, as active tanked setups work better on CNR. Better in this case meaning having both better peak tank and faster mission completion speed. Ofc I lack any hard data, but I would say that even cap injector fueled 'gank' fits are more common on CNR than passive tank ones.

in a few month i will likely change to a active tank too ... because then i have the skills and money to make it work as good as a passive one in missions. but for starters ( who most likely flew some month in his drake ) passiv is a lot cheaper and more powerful. to run an active setup i would even need one more low slot for my tank and so loose one BCS. and that means i loose ~10% damage.

Should I be using a CN XL Shield Booster or a T2 XL Shield Booster? What are the differences, the duration is different but what does this mean in reality? Rest of setup High: Arb cruise launchers + drone link Mids: CN SBA, t2 cap recharger, 3x t2 shield hardeners Lows: 2x t2 PDS, 3x t2 BCS, Rigs: 3x CCC
Thanks for your help

Normal cruise missile: 225m explosion radius Jav torp: 350m * 2/3 (TP with marau bonus, alittle more actually, so it's around the same) = 231m effective explosion radius
Rough estimate is jav torp doing around 33% more dmg than cruise, with the only drawback being the maximum of 67km range on them.

I have considered a Dual Pith B-Type Small Shield Booster setup too free up another low for a 4th Ballistic Control System, and remove a CCC for a Anti-EM Screen.

EDIT: Also as I run missions against Blood Raiders, I think I will use the 8th high-slot for a Heavy Nosferatu ------------

I like passive tanks, so here's my setup.
Hi: 7x launchers 1x drone link or tractor beam
Mid: 2x primary hardener 2x sec hardener 2x LSE
Low: 3x BCU 2x SPR
Rig: 3x Purger
Alternative: Mid: 2x primary hardener 2x secondary hardener 1x LSE 1x XLSB
Low: 3x BCU 0-2 SPR 2-0 PDU
This tank holds in EA5 perfectly fine.

Hi!
Recently I completed my virgin trip (level 4 mission) in a Raven and was quite pleased with the result, even though I still can't fit tech 2 weapons on it. So, my next step would be to buy and fit a Navy Raven (in a near future). Up to now I have been piloting an active shielded Nighthawk fitted with 4 bcus and missile velocity rigs to maximize missile range and dps using fury ammo. Hence, I'm contemplating a similar setup for the NRaven. This is what I have in mind.
HI: 7x cruise launcher T2 (fury ammo), 1x drone link ME: 1x XL shield booster t2, 1x boost amp t2, 1x heavy cap booster t2, 3x navy shield hardeners LO: 4x navy bcu, 1xco-processor T2 RI: 1(or2)x hydraulic bay thrusters, 1(or2)x warhead rigor catalyst
Suggestions on how I might improve the setup are most welcome. Please, no permament shield setups.
