For the record, there was in incident in BNC about a couple of years ago when I was a member. I left the Corp on principle for a full year. I was latter asked to help found BNC.E. (Thus the issue is dead and PEACEFULLY buried and will remain so, so don't ask).

Best chance you have is to go take the fight to them and show them that you are serious about not backing down and that you are just as determined as them. If you're lucky you may be able to get some amount of respect for it.

This "point" of humour, the death of someone that played this game, that YOU guys use in WHATEVER form is one that this community has found, overall, to be in bad taste. This community has made it known we don't like it. This community has made it known that we don't appreciate it.

YOU guys still want to be part of this community, which we think is great. What you guys ALSO think, which isn't so great, is that we should all adhere to your own value judgements and code of humour. Let me tell you that when you play eve you don't just play eve, on the eve forums. This is a VIRTUAL REALITY, and everyone wants the advantage - the biggest advantage coming from learning about how people are IRL.

If that signature had been used in a non-eve related forum I doubt there would be this kind of uproar, but it was. Yet you stand there putting on the "we are innocent, we are goonies" card and it just makes people laugh louder AT you. You guys really do need to learn to get on with other forum users if you're gonna get the full enjoyment out of eve.

I think GS are missing the point. BoB doesn't need a reason to go after you. If they want to go after you, they will. They are apparently not NAPing anyone else, they are just going straight after you and will kill anyone in their way to get to you.

Maybe you think it's stupid but what your former corpmate did was in poor taste. NEDM. Now, instead of just fighting D2 + friends with your friends, you gotta fight D2 + friends as well as BoB ... and if you're lucky, your friends will stick around and back you up (I wouldn't count on it for some of them).

Best chance you have is to go take the fight to them and show them that you are serious about not backing down and that you are just as determined as them. If you're lucky you may be able to get some amount of respect for it.

Other option is to go to NPC stations and never undock again until they get bored. Worked for other alliances in the past.

This "point" of humour, the death of someone that played this game, that YOU guys use in WHATEVER form is one that this community has found, overall, to be in bad taste. This community has made it known we don't like it. This community has made it known that we don't appreciate it.

YOU guys still want to be part of this community, which we think is great. What you guys ALSO think, which isn't so great, is that we should all adhere to your own value judgements and code of humour. Let me tell you that when you play eve you don't just play eve, on the eve forums. This is a VIRTUAL REALITY, and everyone wants the advantage - the biggest advantage coming from learning about how people are IRL.

If that signature had been used in a non-eve related forum I doubt there would be this kind of uproar, but it was. Yet you stand there putting on the "we are innocent, we are goonies" card and it just makes people laugh louder AT you. You guys really do need to learn to get on with other forum users if you're gonna get the full enjoyment out of eve.

I played a game called "Mankind" before playing Eve.

Character counts

In Mankind, there was low life sub-human named "Severed Wind", who did things like crudely joke about the dead crew from the space shuttle crash the same day that it happened.

To this day, Severed Wind is on my **** list (and a lot of other folks too).

Incredible displays of poor character are "correctly" NOT treated as part of the game. They are also NOT ignored in game. DEAL WITH IT.

In Mankind I was in the @ Alliance. One of our mortal enemies was Mordor. There were days when I'd be fuming mad at Mordor. Today a number of my best friends in BNC and BNC.E are former Mordor members from Mankind. We both played a game and blasted each other, but nothing that warrented a grudge past that game.

With "Severed Wind" (or the insult in question here in this game) it is different. It goes beyond the game.

As for the whiners, go ahead and dispute this, you'll just dig yourselves deeper, even if you say true things.
