Seeing as I as of 4:50 this morning is in an official feud with Captin ShadowHawk (evemail me for details shadow) I've decided to start the exact opposite thread of his. So... V fer Vendetta is pretty kewl... Pulp Fiction holds a special place in my heart. and Team America is a wonderful masterpiece of this era's artwork. Now...WHERE MAH CHEEZE AT!?!+1?!? |

Hard to tell.
Star Wars was pretty intense back then.
Leon too.
Death by Murder very entertaining.
Dancer in the Dark made me cry... I still have to fast forward some scenes because they are just too sad.
Blade Runner very great music... and great movie too.
Vertigo ... incredibly good editing for a movie that old.
Matrix was revolutionary.
War Machine amazingly crappy B-Movie but funny as heck.
Army of Darkness same. ---

i really like the lord of the rings films tbh. i didn't expect them to make them as good as they did. fightclub is also a fav, at the end the whole movie makes sence and suddenly falls into place. other good film no one has mentioned is man on fire. great film which was based on a true story. worth watching.
i just watched final fantasy : advent children, good film which reminded me alot about FF7 and the amount of time i wasted on that instead of showing up at school

Jacobs Ladder Superb film thats been somewhat underrated in my opinion. Once Upon A Time In America Best gangster film bar none. The Usual Suspects What can one say that hasn't been already said? The Terminator Possibly the greatest film ever made. Serenity I don't usually consider recent films, I like to wait a few years to see if I still like them as much, but I think this'll be a stayer. Platoon A somewhat more realistic portrail of war than a gung ho John Wayne flick.

Silence of the Lambs. Ever notice how the guy who played Buffalo Bill has played a cop in every movie and tv show since then? Feel bad for him, every time I see him on Monk as the police captain I expect to hear "It puts the lotion in the basket".

Dune Still one of the best Sci-Fi movies ever made Ghost in the Shell Fantastic movie and although differs creatively from the equally fantastic GITS:SAC it deserves recognition. Pulp Fiction >>Genius at work<< The Abyss That part were his ex-wife purposefully drowns Contact Some people may say its a slow boring movie - I liked it because it was different from all the usual first contact flicks. Akira ive lost count at how many times ive watched this movie, tis a classic Aliens I can't think of many action film that has come close to beating this. 'Game over man, Game over' Terminator2 The only other one i can think of, stupidly enticing action and the special effects still look good after over 15 years. Memento A watch it again movie! Full-Metal Jacket A fantastic movie if somewhat uneven! Battle Angel Alita try finding this on DVD its nigh on impossible. I can still draw the artwork from this movie with my eyes closed. Sky Blue Beautiful artwork it is no wonder it took them so long to make.
an absolute ton of Chinese/Japanese/Korean movies. I could give a massive list but id miss ones out and feel bad about it.
and my favourite movie Jacobs Ladder Tim Robbins was Awesome in this movie. 'Oh god what is this place?, Where am I? Why am I here?' 'Why do you think you are here?' 'I dont know, this can't be happening' 'Your dead!' 'Im not im alive!' 'Then why are you here?' 'I don't know' he says while sobbing.
For those who have seen the movie the scene were he awakens in the hospital bed and sees his family was fantastic. He is filled with relief, the tears are streaming down his face and he hugs his family. 'Thank god' he mutters barely able to contain his relief 'it was only a dream' and then the insideous voice whispering in his ear from nowhere. 'Dream On'
Brilliant movie.
"What?? I barely tapped him. Old people go down easy."

sorry :) a quote from Jacobs Ladder wish i could fit it ina sig ;)
Eckhart saw Hell too. He said: The only thing that burns in Hell is the part of you that won't let go of life, your memories, your attachments. They burn them all away. But they're not punishing you, he said. They're freeing your soul. So, if you're frightened of dying and... and you're holding on, you'll see devils tearing your life away. But if you've made your peace, then the devils are really angels, freeing you from the earth.

Serenity. Obviously. We have a new hope... Joss Whedon is our master now... etc.
Other recommendations:
EVE-related: - Silent Running - Star Wars (original un-screwed-about-with TRILOGY) - Dark Star - Alien / Aliens (not 3 or Resurrection) - Pirates of The Caribbean (yarr!)
Non-EVE-related: - Amelie - Chocolat - Lord Of The Rings trilogy - Mystery Men (Best. Comic book movie. EVER.) - Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Across The 8th Dimension - The Breakfast Club - The Goonies - Ferris Bueller's Day Off
