TBH, if you can get then all with 10mil SP and well skilled in a Rokh, you'd be onto a winner.
You also have to remember how goons grow up in eve. Most people start off in empire, running around carebearing. Goons start off in Syndicate surrounded by big red people, running around and yelling "fofofo", "vroom vroom" or "beep beep beep" until they get podded. Hell of a way to get into the game.
It always makes me think of the sardukar/fremen in Dune, who kick ass because they grew up in really tough conditions. When they have more SP, players who've been PvPing and flying in fleets since day one, who don't care about losses and who have such a strong dedication to their alliance (and all goonkind) should be an awesome force.

Yep. There is alot of smacktalk being done, but personally i think the dedication of the goons is amazing. And yeah, i fully count on them to become a real threat in the future if they survive the starting years. Basicly they could just play another game for a while too, until their skillpoints reach the point where they fully can compete.
Ive always been a sucker for the underdog too.

You have to be a goon to do that. On the other hand, I do love the way they play, and I have intense respect for several of them. Quite a lot are complete ****s as well though. Don't know of an alliance I can't say this of though (apart from Otherworld. I respect every member of that)

I dunno, their leader is allright, its just their members seem a bit flakey, they never turn up to alliance opps ________________ What you do is you store up the rage, let it fester while you gain strength, then use it to gank those weaker than you... and so the circle of life is complete |

Internet is not lawless territory. In many countries such a sig would allow for some hefty fines.

Guess what the sig wasn't on the game forums either, it was off-site until some BoB decided to bring up a corpse to beat the war drums.

Anybody remember this saying from their childhood?
"Sticks and stones may break my bones but names will never hurt me."
So someone's showing grossly offensive taste. So what? Don't read what he writes. ________________________________________________

It may be against the rules to try and drive a particular player from the game.
It is not against the rules to try to drive out(ie destroy) an entire corp or alliance.
Wherever you went - here you are.

This is going to be my first and last post on this matter. It's my personal view only.
This isn't about the Smoske bit for me. At most that is indicative of an attitude held and defended by goonfleet/swarm members within Eve. That attitude is what this is about for me. I very much like Eve, and after three years of play that liking mainly comes down to liking the community.
Wether people are my enemy ingame or my friend has never really mattered to me. All the negative responses I've given to other players ingame or on the forums has always either been part of an (heated) argument or part of a form of roleplay. Neither has ever lasted longer then the argument it was part of did.
It's not the sig, nor the old jokes. It's the compounded total of incidents and occurences (that I have no desire to repeat or list on these forums) that indicate a common mindset and culture within their ranks. That is what makes this one different for me.
I do not want that mindset or culture as part of this community.
Contrary to what some are posting here, no rl threats have been made (actually the opposite has been said in the thread these posters refer to), and no conduct that pertains to harrasment under the Eve EULA or TOS has been proposed or will be undertaken.
Be sure that this is going to last as long as it takes as far as I am concerned.
That is all.

So what's your solution?
Permaban the entire BoB alliance? At the end of the day you cannot force anyone to do anything here, it's a game, there are always ways around being affected by war decs and why the hell would anyone want to leave the game for a war?
Sure, anyone can SAY they would grief another person out of the game, I could SAY that I would like to be the king of the world, but really?
Nah, it can't be done unless someone wants to leave the game. Adapt and overcome is all.

You do realize that this is the excuse for most racists (who actually have an excuse). What you just said is "I spotted a few of them doing something I didn't like, and just assumed that all of them are like that and am therefore compelled to act against them in whatever way I am able."
There are always bad people in every large group, but the moment you start grouping people like this and assuming they're all alike, you start down the very dark road that leads towards a psuedo-racism (predjudice, sexism [which has the same basic origin] or whichever word best applies here).
Quote: I do not want that mindset or culture as part of this community.
"GET THOSE DAMN *racial slur*'s OUT OF MY NEIGHBORHOOD!"

With that logic you could say pirates drive people from the game when they shoot noobs in low sec or mercs when they get paid to declare war on people that don't want to fight.
GS have the same options the above have fight or leave.
Also Ryoko Hunter racist slurs what are you talking about honestly, BOB and many many others don't like GS or how they conduct themselves in this game they want to kill them this does not make them racist?
