Non-static world where individuals can really (with a hell of a lot of effort) conquer territory for longer than "until the battlefield resets!" 9. A forum with relatively mature discourse and moderators that can take a joke! 8. Crafting that actually matters, and can make stuff people actually use! 7. An healthy economy, with enough money sinks (pirates) to keep prices low (mostly)! 6. You don't have to muck around in sewers and stab rats (well okay, you can muck around in Minmatar space and stab at 'rats)! 5. There's no freaking Barrens unless you bring it with you (just type in "CHUCK NORRIS LOL!" in your local chat and watch the sparks fly)! 4. There is no "best ship" that everyone eventually gets, that has to be grinded by repeating some "instance" where you kill some "boss monster" over and over and over again. 3. For god's sake, about time someone made an MMO that wasn't in a plain vanilla fantasy world! 2. Healers (logistics) are of limited use, and gangs aren't paralyzed by their abscence, sitting around in local, shouting "NEED HEALOR!!!!1" Aaaaand the number one reason that EVE is better than WoW... 1. No. Freaking. Elves! If you got a better one, I'm all ears.

By the way, blizzards new "world pvp" is about collecting dust and trying to hold towers. Sounds like an arcade game to me. Would probably be fun if there wasnt a zillion bored level 60's with epic gear in those instances. By "PvP" CCP means you blow other players assets up. By "PvP" blizzard means you sit down and play a friendly game of CTF. There's more than two factions in EVE. I pick up an item, I can sell it to whom ever... ... even though I picked it up from someone's corpse CCP releases are always bug free... no wait... Heh, hate to be cliched and all that, but the very reason for this post is to state QFT. ;) I remember a coupla years ago going round to pick up a mate to go out for the night, and as he was shutting his computer down he just showed me a few screens of his new game "EVE". The moment I saw the star map with "Active Players" showing was awesome. A real "Moment" from my many fond gaming memories.

Little Billy might think he can pwn someone in his Ibis, but finds out that although there's no abstract "PvE zone" concept in EVE, he will be CONCORDOKKEN'd nonetheless. (happened to me, years ago) Little Billy might get laughed at when he asks "what is best class pls" and might realize there's games out there without tiresome D+D mechanics. (this one really happened) Little Billy might get frustrated and leave... but if he was an asshat, it just makes the game more attractive for the rest of us

What imo make EvE better is that it is Sci Fi for a change (as much as I like Fantasy SciFi>Fantasy ), and I can change ships to do different things, instead of being limited to 1 skill tree and item set dictated by my starting character.
