I used to agree with that view but i got to say that as i'm aproaching 9 years of playing this game, and have practically every skill i want to train to lvl 5 done(almost 140 skills), or well trained(150+ skills to lvl 4), and the sight of hitting 200 million skill points isn't that far away anymore, having the best implants and plenty of isk....Heck all 4 titan skills are maxed out, that end game feels a lot closer these days. I'm not interested in research or production skills, or trading or anything that doesn't involve flying a ship inn the first place, wich i can do all 4 races equally well, so i'm as nerf proof as possible in that respect, and don't take this as me boasting as it's just a matter of time and patience and persistance for everyone to reach this point.....Most quit well before hitting this mark. And yes over those years, i've tried everything from mining, to pvp, to pve and being in three 0.0 aliances, and it all becomes the same over that period, fighting and dieing repeatedly for the same systems over and over, even if under a different aliance banner, friends that become enemies and enemies that are now corp/aliance mates, so it's become pretty stale for long running players that have been here since the game was basically released in 2003(not that far from the decade mark, so time flies). I don't see eve's backstory getting developed at all, know nothing more about the jove than we did in 2003 or opening the eve gate and see what's on the other side of it, and even releasing the rest of the T2 ships and faction ships for all ship classes(dreads, carriers, super carriers and even titans), or the extremely long road to releasing more T3 ships, wich we only have cruisers for the last 2 years, and at this rate the odds are that i'll probably kick the bucket before we see all T3 ship classes in game anyhow. I fully realise that CCP's focus is on the new players, and atracting more of them to ensure the game's overall survival here in financial terms, but forgetting content for the older crowd that have been with this game so long isn't right either, even though i fully realise that releasing even more powerfull ships that take years of training and only affects a very small portion of the eve player base(unfortunately since many have already left), doesn't make financial sense for CCP given the work involved, but it still would something i'd be happy to undertake that challenge(heck beyond rank 16 skills, bring it), but it will still **** off the newer players stating it increases the skill gap between veterans and newer players....An argument i've been hearing since 2004 btw when i only had 11 million sp in those days. Getting bored CCP, do something about it please...
