Can I ask what implants or skills your running to make this all fit. I run out of cpu with everything fitted bar the shield amp and the 2 rigs which add CPU again. I have AWU4 and all fitting skills at 5. I don't have any implants so I'm assuming you have implants to reduce the cpu on the launchers, but I still don't see how it will all fit with my calcs.
The 5% reduction in cpu for the launcher implant might get enough to put the shield amp or a disruptor on, but the rigs will screw the fittings way out for CPU usage.
I run around with a slightly modified fitting to match the cpu reqs and was looking to put an em shield rig and a shield extender rig on it. Your fitting looks good on paper but I still can't see how it will fit even with the best implants, sure officer or deadspace mods may allow it to all fit. For the cost of this I'll stick with T2 and maybe the odd faction module.

Cerb PvP Fit:
Highs: T2 HAMs with Javelins, Small Nos/Neut/whatever
Mids: Lg Shield Booster, Boost Amp, Photon Scattering Field, Invulni Field, Cap Booster
Lows: PDS, DCU, 2 BCS
Rigs: 2 Load Bay Accel
Tempted to swap out the cap booster for a sensor booster for the faster locking times and added range. This setup has an insane RoF and hits out to about 120km. Resists around 70-85%. Downside is the reliance on cap to tank, slow as hell and lack of tacklage so not much cop solo (it's Caldari, go figure). Some people fit passive EM to compensate for the cap and for the same reason Rage aren't very attractive.

Very nice setup and the fact that there is less cpu used by the HAM's it looks like it will work.. I'll try in 12 days when HAM 5 is done.
Again do you have the CPU reduction implant to have enough CPU to run this setup. I can see I'll fit everything JUST but I can't see any other skills which will save me more CPU to fit the 2 rigs..

You're quite right, I was running a Pith-A Type Small Shield Booster on that fit, which is why it all went in snuggly. I've edited my fit to reflect the added grid/CPU requirements for a large booster (2 grid rigs and a co-proc).
Tbh though, after testing I really don't rate the cerb in PvP. Compared to other ships in its class, it has a weak tank and poor DPS. It can certainly spam missiles at a high RoF or at great range or both, but there are HAC's out there that do the same job so much better. And at 180mill a pop plus fittings, you can't afford to get primaried. My cerb will stay in the realms of the level 4 missions where it excels, and the quest for a capable caldari PvP boat continues...

So, after a little testing, this is what I've got.
5x Hvy II Launcher with scourge usually
2x Sensor Damp 2x Active Hards 1x Sensor Booster II
2x BCS II 2x PDU II
1x Bay Loading Accelerator 1x Missile Velocity Rig
1 sensor damp can be replaced with whatever, but this setup gives 160k+ range on regular missiles and great ROF, along with heavy missiles that do 8400m/s

Ive tried lately to fit the same active setup, turns out like this
5x Hvy Launcher II
Large SB II SB Amplifier I Named EM Hardener sensor booster (can be swaped for another hardener) Electrochemical Cap Injector w/ 800s
2x BCS II 1x PDU I 1x Co-processor
1x bay loading accelerator 1x missile velocity rig
Hvy missiles do 8400m/s, decent dps, slow ship, 153km range, ROF is about 5.9sec.
What i was wondering is if anyone does a passive tanker on this bad boy. You would be impervious to any NOS ships, since missiles dont use cap, and i hear you can do pretty well with it. Any thoughts?

my pvp cerb setup
5xt2 hvy launchers 1 t2 photon , 1 t2 invuln field 2 sesor boosters 1 large shield extender 3bcu2's,1 pds2
this is a long range setup rof for me was 5secs and 150km range i could take out most anything and it held up good vs fire

Cerb wasnt intended for close range - Its passive tank isnt that great, and its active tank leaves something to be desired. Combined with the range bonus, its not that difficult to see its meant as long range.
Whether or not it boosts HAM range, simple fact is, it doesnt fair well up close

But with the velocity bonus HAMs would go for 40 km, wouldnt it? Most of the combats around stargates are around 40~50 km.... So I dont see the point of this ___ {o,o} |)__) -"-"- O RLY? >=(^^;) |

HAMs would be fine on any other ship....except this one.
Like he said, passive tank is not very good without leet skills, active tank isnt that great either. Active tank doesn't let you fit sensor boosters and sensor boosters doesnt let you fit good tank.
The point is, i can hit at about 162k...and its a cruiser. Obviously, this ship was made for long range.
As for the HAM range, 40km may be the range most skirmishes are held at, but at 40km, you cant scramble or web to solo, which means you would need a tackler anyways. so if you need a tackler, 120-150k would give you much more time to warp away from an unbeatable gang or enemy than 40km, especially in a slower cruiser. If you DO fit a scramweb on it, you cant tank well at all, which means you would need support gang, and why not just get someone to come out in a tackle frig in the first place and solve the problem?
Overall, I still have problems fitting everything I want with regular heavies, so i can't imagine trying to fit the hams.
If someone wants to discuss this that has a HAM setup, please do so.

HMs are fine imo, but the DPS out of it SUCKs big time. I bet you wont get anything higher than 300 even with 3 BCU IIs (I got like 330 on my nighthawk ) . Thats why I wanted to fit some HAMs on cerberus :S but It seems this way wont work either.... ___ {o,o} |)__) -"-"- O RLY? >=(^^;) |

This is my setup
5x HM II 1x Named Small Nos
1x Gistii SB 2x Large Shield Extender II 1x Photon Scattering field 1x Target Painter
3x BCU II 1x PDU II
Now i cant figure out why everyone has missile range upwards to 150K when mine is only 66k. Im using Scourge fury and I multiplied my Velocity x Flight time.
5.82 m/s 10.92 Secs flight time
Thanks for any advice!

they have a shorter range too.
Heavy missiles arent like torps or cruise, where you have javelin which give longer range.
Longest ammo for heavy missiles is the basic t1 ones.
Average cerb pilot hits about 160km

My pvp Setup for gang/gate camps etc....
Highs 5x HM II's
Mids 1x Pith A-Type Small Boost 1x Invul II 1x Photon II 2x Ext II
Lows 1x PDU II 3x BCU II
All I can say is WOW. I got great DPS. Averaged about 220 which isnt bad I only have HAC 3. The tank held up well against another drake. Got about 8 assisted kills this weekend with it. First time jumping in it and I fell in love. Swapped out the invul for a sensor booster and changed to scourge missiles and was hitting close to 130k when needed. It sucks soloing since you cripple your tank if u wanted to add a web/scram. I found using the pith a type small booster is better than the gistii in my opinion more people should try it. More cpu required but if u have the skills it fits. All opinion are welcome to make this thing a better killing machine!

well you really sound like you know what youre talking about
tank on cerb is fine, and if you fit a cap injector, you shouldnt have to worry about nos anyhow. if you have to outlast your opponent, you should be able to kill him before he kills you. as for fury, i always use t1 scourge, get about 160k, but max range with no sensor booster is about 110k. usually have hardener instead of booster, but thats preference. i cant stop flying this ship, but ive lost two already, pretty expensive, but price in jita i coming down. got my third for 125mil. Once again, i cant get out of this damn thing!

Actually mate, not being rude, but his one sentence contained more truth that what your paragraph had.
As Caldari tank med slots, you dont have room to fit a good tank or any tackling mods. As such, you're limited to gang work. But lets just suppose you fitted a scram. Your tank wouldnt hold up to anything larger than a cruiser. Combined with the fact that your 160km range is great and all....but firstly, find me a scram that has that range. And secondly, as you cant scramble from that distance, your target is just going to flee.
And since when does a cap injector make you immune to nos?

Edited by: Gee Lok on 14/04/2007 06:06:40 I'm gonna say something really stupid, so I am prepared for flames.
I saw an armour tanked caldari navy caracal on another thread. The guy who posted it said that it actually works fairly well.
Given that I can't fly Cerberus, and don't know anything about armour tanking, this setup is theoretical.
Low Armour repper 2 hardeners 1600mm something
Mid 10mn AB tackling mods - Warp disruptor etc. something else - maybe a cap recharger or two
High Heavy assault missile launchers Med nos if it fits
Could that solve the tackle/tank problem? It does come at the cost of speed.

All those people putting gistii a-types on cerbs please... this is a pvp topic ok?
Gistii a-type in pvp fitting just makes for good loot. (There are very few exceptions, but cerb is not one of them)
Booster should be either large booster with injector, or, I'd say go all out passive tank.
And cerb shouldn't really be close in the fight, it should warp in at 100 with sensor booster(?) and spam missiles imo while being able to tank the damage of a sniping BS for at least a tiny bit.
Perhaps I'm all wrong (I don't fly these) but this is how I envision a cerb being useful... For close combat work an eagle with blasters would be much better.

100% correct, except a cerb isnt even useful in pvp :)
But if some muppets did take it into pvp, that would be the best way.

I was going to make the same point, and I love the cerberus. I've tried it in pvp several times, it's really only good at anti support in larger gangs where it doesn't really matter what klind of ship you fly. It lacks the agility and speed that seperate hacs from otherwise superior ships. The only thing it has is good damage at range and the missile velocity to pull it off.
If you love it, definatley fly it; but it's not the best pvp choice. Your signature exceeds the maximum allowed filesize of 24000 bytes -Sahwoolo Etoophie ([email protected]) |

I just can't let this one go.
PvP does not mean 1v1. Just because the cerb cant fit for a tackler doesnt mean it isnt a good pvp ship. jump in at 100 after the lock and fire away, i get great dps out of it, which makes me wonder about some of the guy's missile skills that were complaining about that.
now i know someone is gonna say, well you could jump in at 100 with any old ship, and you would be right. but a caracal doesnt have the range, tank, dps, or missile bonuses afforded in the cerberus, nor a battleship the lock time and agility of a cruiser. yes, at 10k, the blaster eagle would be phenomenal. at 150k, what can you hit with blasters? yes, you need a tackler to lock the guy down, or a bubble for a camp. its a damned long range missile spammer, and a long range missile spammer should not be considered to tackle in the first place.
so, cliff notes: PvP doesnt mean 1v1. fit it for range and damage, which is what it is for.
now to the tank. Once again, i really dont know what kind of shield skills everyone has, but i'm going to assume for the sake of argument that they are better than mine, since most likely they are anyways. No, i didn't say it has an excellent tank. it has an ok tank. That being said, i tanked 2 battlecruisers that jumped me for at least 2 minutes with around 60% shields. I would have known what more it could do had a command ship and a bs warped in. Once again, the tank is far from spectacular, but as i stated, range and damage.
anyhow, as i asked earlier in the thread, i would love for someone to give some passive fittings that have worked for them, been itching to try them out. and no, injectors dont make you immune to nos, but a large boost will run you 3 maybe 4 boosts before someone can suck you dry again (which for me is 314 shields per 4 seconds w/ boost amp ), unless its a battleship with 4 large or something, in which case your f****d in the first place.
All in all, the thread is for help fitting for pvp, not telling someone they shouldn't fly it in pvp because its not leet. try to help everyone out with a fitting. (a passive one maybe?)
