ALL of my ships (save the little courier I was running a mission in) are currently in the Irnin system, which I now CAN NOT get into. So I can get in game just fine, but only have access to one of my ships, nor can I get to the station where everything else is stored....

Edited by: Traellium on 05/08/2006 20:14:15 I have a week-long skill that is coming up for a refresh soon ... so was hoping to pop in at least for a few minutes later today.
All the more ammunition in asking for that skill queue! Then they could have taken another week until I needed access again :)

I wasn't backlashing, that was a very decent and polite request for more information. As a tech, I know the situation, and indeed feel for CCP, but as a paying customer, I also am entitled to answers. Which after my post, answers were given, and I am satisfied now that I have been provided with an idea of what they believe is going on. If you are a tech or in customer support role, you know that a little information can go a long way to customer satisfaction, but a lack therof can go further into dissatisfaction. Having been given information, I have an idea now of the severity of the problem and don't have to feel uninformed about hampsters and other stuff that has no bearing on the problem and is purely joking. :)
Fair point really. Sometimes it is good for a tech to say to another tech "it could be that the neutron accelerator is out of phase with the multi-dimensional flux capacitor" and for it to spark something mentally for someone (or indeed for the guy at the photocopier) to chip in with a useful suggestion. It's when the uneducated get ahold of that and go "yeah, but two days ago, the guy I spoke to said it was something to do with the 'uni-nodal electron decelerator' or something, I even wrote it down... see!" (wehich as any tech knows, the multi-dimensional flux capacitor and the uni-nodal electron decelerator are two wildly different things)....
Where was I?
Yeah... dev posts are good when they have a fair idea what's gone wrong. Wild speculation isn't good for anyone. No backlash intended honest! (in-laws are about and having Eve withdrawl symptoms!)

Lots of folks in my corp just got disconnected. No "right click" available when in space. Taking forever to get logged back in.

I know im like 15 and everyone will probably laugh at this ... but surely if they thought about this logically then they would realise that if they made our time that we payed for stop whilst the crashes were in progress then none of this argue'n would happen, and people fixing it won't get abuse from clearly anoyed members .. which I totally understand ! so its just my thoughts on the situation, anyway GL with the problem and hope we can get back online very shortly

I think he means that the ccp employees creditcards and means to spend money should be locked the moment the server is down, so they are only able to order beer as long as the server is running, not enirely sure though.

What do you expect when basing a database server on inferior Intel technology instead of superior AMD technology.
Hell, every time a server featuring Intel SunSurface(tm) chips, the worlds temperature rises by 2.5 degrees. To power them you need a couple of nuclear powerstations and to cool them requiresd another one.
Go get some real servers CCP.

Originally by: Hank Shank I'm on a trial account and close to upgrading to a permanent paid account. But these interruptions are causing me concern. Is this normal for TQ?
It's been happening a bit more than usual lately, but it's not normal. Usually it happens much less often. ---------- My sig is boring. |

Hey Ho, another crash, another mission time bonus lost just glad I had my ship docked (just) when it happened. I pay the best part of ú30 a month to CCP cos I've got 3 accounts, and am getting tired of the 'hiccups' that the daily downtime, and the extended downtimes are meant to prevent. I thought at first that the daily DT was preventative, but now I'm thinking more (as it's just about lunchtime where the servers are based) that the engineers all go down the pub for an hour.
Only kidding, but please can we have some proper explanations on why we are getting more crashes now then we've had before. New servers have been installed which were meant to be so good, but it's been more unreliable since them imo
k, rant over.
