ATM caladari is know for their long range bonus. 2 long range hacs? oh why? Eagle is a fine ship. Cerberus i like it a lot.
but this is the problem, 196km is how far my missiles would go' to hit that far i would need 1 sensor booster II well 160km + gang bonus up to 10% more. though its a mighty bonus i hardly get to use it unless i get told to gate camp, even at that point id rather sit at 100km due to the 8437.5 m/sec my missiles will take 13 secs after lock to reach its target, at 160 you re looking at 20 seconds, most of the time anything smaller than BC or BS will die before the missiles get there.
do we really need that flight time bonus? i mean there is tonnes of other options. EI: 10% reduction in price per lvl jk o/
whats scary is this. Assault missiles 25% more damage at 15KM range, that will make the cerberus a fearsoem close quarter pawnmobile. i ll be looking at 400dps roughly, thats the same i do now with t2 fury jsut without the reduced cap.
plus think of the t2 assault missiles.
even with a 15 km range, the cerberus ahs a 50% velocity bonus at lvl 5, another 50% velocity from missile skill and a 50% flight tiem from missile skilla s well. there is a 10% bonus Light and Heavy Missile flight time but that shouldnt affect assault missiles.
even with this you re still going to be hitting at maybe 40-60km THE PRICE WILL GO UP, i presume unless CCP releases more copys.
10% flight time bonus could be changed into many things, maybe tanking, cerberus hasnt got as much shield as other hacs ei: vaga wish is around the same price more agile and deadly in 1v1 combat.

5% resist/level would make me happy
The problem is, the only bonuses that caldari missile ships get are usually damage and range. Cerb already has double bonuses to each. Only other bonus I can think of which would fit in with current progressions would be the nighthawk's GMP bonus, and that doesn't make me happy.
On the other hand, a theoretical 76km range with assault missiles is pretty horrible

Totally agree - glad i got the skills to fly a NH now cos Cerb's are going to go waaaaaaaaaay up. Hell i remember when they were 80 mil.
I really suggest that CCP release more bpo/seed some bpc. The only problem with the really good/useful t2 stuff is that the markets are monopolised by alliances who have the resources to buy all the bpo. Which then penalises the rest of the eve community as they have to bend over backwards to get a ship, which isnt worth the isk often.
But this has been moaned about enough. Im sure eve and the community know already:P

first of all, NH is **** dotn go for it stick with cerb, jk tahts me trying to keep the NH price down too. guese it didnt work.
NOW bpos, how many are there in game? 10? 20? some one said 12 to me. now out of those 12, there could be 10 in constant use every day, tahts 10 hacs every day.
there is a lot of caladaris, doing missions with this ships, how many are loosing them every day to rats? not many pvp with them, but i guese in total at least 10 cerberus ships are destroyed every day, at least. the reason the price went up in the first place was ebcause some one did a whole buy, i remember seeing tonnes of em in market, than suddenly before RMR all cerberus were gone.

I'd forgotten about that. No caldari should have shield boost bonuses though (including the transports): they should all be 5% resist bonuses. Minmatar tanking bonuses are (or should be) 7.5% boost.

Minmatar should get the 7.5% boost bonus cos its mostly rubbish and u want the caldari to have the good one?
Anyway, this wasn't a bpo or hawk boost thread, it was a change a cerb bonus thread. And yes, the cerberus is gonna be absolutely LETHAL with these new assault missiles. And it already tanks like a demon, so a resist bonus would be way overpowered. Imagine it, deadly assault missiles at close range plus a shield tank u need a titan to bust thru.
That would scare me.

it tanks like a demon in pve, in pvp you ll need you med slots one for mwd and one for disruptor or webber, so the tank wont be as good, were the vaga gets tonnes of shield, i feel raped

Check your numbers. The Cerb has about 350 base shield MORE than the Vaga. And a Vag also has to fit an mwd and a webber, and the cerb has an extra slot, so just how is the vagabond a better tank?

whats upsetting is that you have 2 hacs that have almost similar role of long range. even at maxed skills its hard to take a cerberus agaisnt a BS solo, its rare that i got away with it.

speed. agility, i saw vagabonds take on 5 cruisers t1 and an eagle, while he was killing them 1 by 1 the others couldn't hit him at all. cerberus would ahve to absorb all that damage.

Just to clarify. Not all T2 BPO's are monopolised. The Cerberus especially. A long time ago, BIG had 3 Cerb BPOs. They apparently traded one away when the Cerb was still crap. They have 2 now. And they were producing them and selling them at 68 million a pop. They closed down their queues recently (not cleared), so as to reduce the numbers a little (300+ orders or something). They wanted to also increase their price to 150mil, not so that they could rip us off, but because 90%+ of all the Cerbs they were selling were more than likely just being resold for 200mil +.
So all power to BIG... T2 BPO owners aren't always the problem... the greedy resellers amongst us are often to blame... just sit in some of the trade channels sometimes and see how people resell items...

LOL, exactly what iam talking about. nighthawk sucks for damage, if i wanna kill frigs id use a different ship. it doesnt even have a velocity bonus how would you hit those guy going at 6k plus. at least change the TN to velocity.

Well first of all would just like to say that when tux said 15km for assault missile range, that meant with skills and a bonus or 2. Now how about this, give the cerb a kestrel type bonus. Im ridiculously tired of the kinetic bonuses, so this is what it would be:
10% bonus to kinetic damage and 5% bonus to em, therm, and exp damage per cruiser level
5% bonus to Missile launcher RoF and 10% bonus to missile velocity.
Getting rid of 50% flight time cuts the missiles range down by quite a bit, but doesnt affect the time to get to target. And now the cerb can use different damage types with kinetic still being the racial damage type. The 5% velocity will help the assault rockets if they are slow, but wont let them go out to big lengths. A cerb will have to fit a mwd and a web to use them, and of course the standard disruptor, so if its going to use the damage rockets it will have no tank. Sounds fair, no?

Absolution: 150% damage of Zealot (and no range bonus - so you stick beams and have same dmg as zealot with pulses) Astarte: 140% damage of Deimos (and you need to fit rails coz with blasters is just crappy version of blasterthron) Sleipnir: 140% damage of Vagabond (huh big vagabond = slow vagabond = not really all that cool, still probably one of the best CS in my opinion) Nighthawk: 90% damage of Cerberus (and 200% better damage to small stuff - like perfect role)

60km with a "short range" missle? Ok...
The missle skills need to be dropped to 5% per level, a 225% bonus to range with 2 skills at level 5 is kinda crazy imo.

Astarte owns with blasters what exactly? It dies as soon as anything sneezes at it.
Just for comparison: maxed cerb aprox 400 dps (420 with fury and 5% rof implant) and something like 90km range
deimos: 650 dps (5% implant, maxed everything) + 150dps from drones. Its range... 1200m...
And railstarte does: 450 dps with spike ammo(for comparative range) and has like 70km optimal + 20km falloff. So deimos with rails does almighty 440dps with javelin ammo and has something like 20km optimal + 20km falloff.
Maybe this will explain price of cerberus. WTS talisman omega |

Cerberus missle fight time bonus is fine specially with assault missles coming. Would you rather shoot those missles from farther out then try and make up for the crappy speed and mass getting in close.

erm yeah only if you fit 4 bcu 2, i do hav emaxed missile skills. but with the caladari crapy cap, its hard to 1v1 with t2 fury, especially againt |BS.
what i want is for the cerb to loose this long range gemic and be a clsoe range ship, that can kill stuff alone, withotu the need for a frig as support. wahts the point in doign damage no amtter how much if you cant hold em.
Deimos, zealot, vagaa all do well at close range. better speed and agility

um, anything cruiser sized and up? depends on the battleship and the pilot but it could win 1vs1 in some battleship situations. it does more dps than the other FCS's as well.

Want me to run you the math on rails on astarte? 450dps with rails & spike is huh also pretty close to railthron with something like thorium ammo. You dedicated caldarist should take thron on lvl4 mission with you to see how cruise raven owns everything bigger than frig in few volleys and still kills battleships way faster than any guns.

what? this thread is about the cerb. btw the cerb can kill frigates better than the nighthawk with its 2 frig killing bonuses can. and the slep isnt a big vagabond. and the astarte owns hard with blasters. and i dont know much about the absolution really other than ive seen it it do some niiiice dps.
Maybe this will explain price of cerberus.
imo price of the cerberus is a result of the cerb's effectiveness on running missions.
And about the astarte i think you kinda underestimate it hehe
Want me to run you the math on rails on astarte? 450dps with rails & spike is huh also pretty close to railthron with something like thorium ammo. You dedicated caldarist should take thron on lvl4 mission with you to see how cruise raven owns everything bigger than frig in few volleys and still kills battleships way faster than any guns.
Oh and with assault launchers... price of cerberus will be what ... 500mil?
was talking about the blaster astarte being underestimated ;)

Did you ever fly blasterboat? How about fat, sluggish and slow? It's like overpriced megathron, nothing else. Oh and with less armor, cap and drone bay.
Oh and ... have you ever took a blasterboat in more than 5 people gang? Getting outdamaged by intys ... --------------------- WTS talisman omega |

yeah i have done all of those things actually, btw i see the astarte as a megathron with a lower sig, better tracking and better resists and a helluva lot of fun to fly, much more fun to me then flying around in a megathron shooting stuff from 200km but maybe that's just me

I see astarte as just as sluggish as megathron, resists vs armor hp ... are actually in favor of mega and it is too big to be fun to fly anyway(deimos is too fat). And megathron doesn't equal rails actually, and when you meet such mega in astarte you can start thinking if insurance is enough to buy t2 drones for next ship. --------------------- WTS talisman omega |

THE END. Cerberus price issue needs fixing for a ship that is mostly used for PVE. Caladari needs a fast ganking ship, like the vaga, or like the zealot at least.

i would have thought that the short range Assault Missiles would only be Battlecruiser/battleship classed, like the current assault laucnehrs only use light missiles but cant fit on a kessy only cruiser and upwards.
That woudld stop the cerb being ultimate death dealing nastiness and stop a lot of whines

caldari cruisers have long needed a short range missile system - that makes it capable of going toe-to-toe with close range ships... Current Assault launchers is merely a placeholder though it might still be an option after assault missiles have been implemented (since for some reason they want assault missiles to be harder to fit than heavies)
