Next on the agenda is the social aspect. To know of eve's existance or even the concept of persistant universe games, you have to be reasonably into PC gaming. The advertising is low key, and there are few if any boxed versions of the game around (at least i've never seen one in reality). If you slap it on shelves and in every gaming magazine going we'll get an influx of thousands of people who have no idea what the game is all about. Its complex and not for the casual market really. Aside from anything else, if you going to plug a keyboard and mouse into your PS3 to play eve with, you may as well play it on the PC anyway. The fact your here already shows you play it on a PC so wheres the beef. To the fella that said the ps3 could handle EVE. Who cares? The ps3 can handle a 3 year old PC game? OMGZ SIGN ME UP My microwave can dry a weeks worth of underwear in 44 seconds AND call the fire department. Consolers... consoler-ites... consol-ians... erm... people who play on consoles should leave EVE alone and I promise Ill only use my ps2 as an expensive, corded DVD player. Sigh, there is absolutly no need for eve to be ported to a console, you have not came up with one reason why it should, so why should others come up with reasons why it should not? This has been askedabout the xbox, xbox360 and now the PS3 pretty much the same response every time its asked. Consoles are normally aimed at vastly different audiances than eve is aimed at, normally short term gratifcation, yes there is crossover in the targeted game playing segments but its not as large as some assume. Consoles are better for some types of games and PCs another. What eve really does not need is for it to ported to any console being vasly different andthengettingslated in consolemags for it being crap as it does not it into the console genre that well. It could easily end up generating negitive press for eve... So in my opinion in the name of all thats unholy no don't port this game to any console its niche game and that niche does not include consoles in any way or form.... Oh and if your gonna leave can I have your stuff? ========= "I am not saying there should be capital punishment for stupidity, but why can`t we just take the safety labels off everything and let the problem fix its self

EVE is like a diet for your wallet... kinda... except for the whole sub thing. the point is, why mess with a good thing? there are hundreds of examples of games ruined by doing EXACTLY what you are proposing. your heart is in the right place. a console version of EVE would spread the word, attract more people and ultimately lead to my meeting, dating and eventually marrying Jennifer Anniston... in theory. The truth of it is I am fairly sure she isnt over Brad and I dont stack up well in a side-by-side comparison. As previous posters have stated, there are REAL issues with porting to consoles... the least of which includes the hard truth that console gamers and PC gamers are after fundamentally different things. If they werent, we wouldnt be having this conversation because we would all be sitting in front of the same exact model eMachine or Sony contraption. Just keep in mind that most of these posters have come from games like EQ or Planetside where the community did a great job at ruining. As soon as someone posts a 'lets port EVE to INSERT DEVICE NAME HERE' topic people are all over it since none of us want to see EVE changed from its basic form. Influxing thousands of console players would do exactly that. I see where you are coming from... but you have a pretty big problem. You need to seperate the opinion from the person posting. No one is attacking you. No one is abusing you. People have been sarastic and snide in some of their comments... but after 3 years of the same topic coming up, some replies are copied from notepads. Who cares HOW they say it. You should at least admit that there are some valid reasons posted that make your line of thought troublesome. If this isnt for you, and it really might not be, then maybe a console is YOUR solution. Please dont ask us to smile at the thought of your SOE laced shackles and we won't ask you to leave

Where in the hell did you extract that i was 'above' you? lighten up, chill out and go have a smoke. there is no 'better' when it comes to consoles vs. PC's but there is a drastic change in the gaming experience if you advocate porting a complex, time intensive product like EVE into a medium that caters to the EXACT opposite end of the spectrum. drop the arguement that PC gamers claim to be better. no one buys it and you are just getting closer to carpral tunnel. we have already agreed that pc'ers and console-ians are two DISTINCTLY different markets. don't make me go all forbes on you and pull up a market share study it doesnt appear that this conversation is going anywhere constructive so im going to get back to my neglected studies. summer finals suck btw. good luck where ever you do end up since eve apparently isnt for you.

Where in the hell did you extract that i was 'above' you? lighten up, chill out and go have a smoke. there is no 'better' when it comes to consoles vs. PC's but there is a drastic change in the gaming experience if you advocate porting a complex, time intensive product like EVE into a medium that caters to the EXACT opposite end of the spectrum. drop the arguement that PC gamers claim to be better. no one buys it and you are just getting closer to carpral tunnel. we have already agreed that pc'ers and console-ians are two DISTINCTLY different markets. don't make me go all forbes on you and pull up a market share study it doesnt appear that this conversation is going anywhere constructive so im going to get back to my neglected studies. summer finals suck btw. good luck where ever you do end up since eve apparently isnt for you. i agree with what you said but just look at some of the answers on this thread. totally uncalled for and basically a lot of people have their head up their own back side and a very arrogant attitude problem.
