If i were a person who looks at the accounting books of CCP... then looks at the number of potential costomers for EVE on console... it is at least looking in to... ok.. so people on consoles may type slow.. they may act partially retarded... they may wear baseball caps... but... more people to shoot at, right? If a "successful" porting of EVE is possable... why the hell not do it? If it is going to be some Half-assed, limited, i can't do anything quickly, and i am a retard, interface... then it is obvuiously not a good idea.... but if keyboard/mouse are optional on the PS3 then where would the major hangup be? To than the gamers here in this game who think that somehow they are intelegent because they play a game on a PC. I have news.. a monkey could set up a computer... the cables are all color coded... MMO's on consoles have been played in japan for years, and successfully so. Granted those MMO's have not been as complex as EVE, and their control schemes designed from the ground up for consoles. 2. The game industry is entering a new era, so called "next generation". This means all aspects of the "next gen" gaming experience are "next gen", at least they should be. Bandwidth some years down the road will be less of an issue than it is now. 3. You can use a keyboard and mouse on a PS3. Hmm.. I wouldnt mind sitting in front of my spanking 42 inch HDTV and play eve, in the comfort of my sofa. That said, i can just hook up my PC to said TV, and do the same. 4. The "Directx / OpenGL" question is moot. EVE is massive, and mostly not on the graphics side. Dont know about the complexity of porting a game like this to the PS3 though.

I see complete systems in the stores these days for $500-$600. Some even come with a printer. So why would I spend that kind of cash on a console? Granted, i've never really been deep into console gaming, but I just don't see the point in them, when most of the games I want to play are available for my comp just as readily :)
