the miner never had to do anything. just because you flipped his can he didnt have to attack you, and still doesnt.
the dynamic has only changed where someone outside of that mining corp can attack you. why would that at all stop you making friends with the miner and the guy who eventually attacks you? And yet I've seen an orca saunter up to a jetcan that had nothing of value in it and watched as not a single person with guns reacted to such a fat, slow, juicy target going suspect. How about you explain to us how your idea is anything but more carebear whining that there's too much risk involved in your chosen play style? Your idea is nothing but crying to CCP because you don't want to hurt your precious killboard rating by going suspect. You should also note, keeping from getting killed while having a suspect flag is stupidly easy.
As for your baseless claim that I'm afraid of highsec can flippers, I'm not quite sure how that could possibly be. When you consider I live in nullsec and the only actions I take in highsec are a Jita trade alt and a DST pilot for when I find a nice wormhole to highsec, I fail to see how any form of logic would conclude I'm afraid of you. So you don't even play in high sec which pretty much means you know anything about can flipping. So why were you saying "nothing has changed"?

I don't even play the PvP side of the game and I wish the old can flip rules were still in place. I had hours of fun sitting in belts tormenting many of the hapless idiots that used to call themselves can flippers damn I miss those days.

I know I can still take someones can in highsec, but I really don't want to be a target for everyone in eve for 15 mins once I do that.
It used to be fun back then doing this. Even those who lost their cans enjoyed hunting the can flippers. Not to mention the smack talk and the other stuff.
This was in fact the best thing to do when I had nothing else going on in eve. But now can flipping is not so fun because of the strange aggro rules. lol, they can't do that without making jet can mining relevant again. Right now it's totally unnecessary. -á-á- remove the cloaked from local; free intel is the real problem, not-á "afk" cloaking-á-

Ima Wreckyou wrote:Just shoot the miner and stop dancing around his can. Not a bad idea but it is still not the same, shot the miners now and you have a 100% chance to get a visit from Concord back then it provided a level of interaction between flippers and miners that you simply cannot get now. Back then the miner had the choice in the situation, they could ignore the flipper or they could choose any one of several ways to engage the flipper in an effort to get their stuff back. For the can flippers I knew the real interest to them was the preparation for and trying to deal with how the whole situation went down. Today the scenario is easy choose target, shoot target and if you have done the simple math right the miner dies before you do. If not you get to sit in your pod and watch as your target flies off with tail between legs.
For all of the hassles and problems it caused I still prefer the old way. |

You can still flip them, it's just unlikely they will ever try to steal it back. The harsher penalties have only created a disincentive to player interaction for both potential parties.

Once you steal the ore and become suspect flagged anyone in the game can take anything from a container owned by you without becoming flagged themselves. The "flipping" part literally doesn't exist anymore.
Yet another example of CCP Greyscales great ideas for "fairer" aggression mechanics.

You steal it, jettison it and then shoot it.

Stealing the can is possible. But the fun part was in making miner do something brave or stupid to get it back. Unfortunately that doesn't happen anymore. Support Can flipping.
