I don't think its fair to say that POS warfare and the manner in which stations are conquered is ruining the game. The older players amongst us will surely remember the ridiculous station ping-pong that used to happen in territorial warfare pre-POS. Sometimes the lag was bloody awful even then, 9cg for example was well known for being the lag capital of the south. I distinctly remember battles for FAT between FIX and the Coalition (Species, Mass, SGE etc.. ) pre-POS when the station would change hands up to 10 times in a single night. Now the defender and the attacker have to have long-term logistics backing their efforts up, beyond being able to raise a fleet of X amount of pilots. This IMO adds depth to the game. Sure its more time consuming but as the old adage goes.. "if you can't stand the heat....". The game is no longer about simply turning up and 'pew pew'. Additionally I think the term 'game' in reference to EVE is a misnomer.. its more like an elaborate hobby. However, the basic premise of territorial control and power-mongering is still the driving force in the game, bringing out the best and worst in human nature.. which is why most of us are hooked. Disclaimer: Just drank half a bottle of nice Rioja, so excuse my rambling.
