The basic rules of EvE are rather clear, even if the mechanics are somewhat more complicated. 1. Other players may shoot you or bump you when you undock. 2. Other players may scam you out of goods or ISK via contracts and trade windows. 3. Hostile NPCs will shoot you when they encounter you in space. 4. The only thing stopping the above from happening to you is you. Pretty straightforward really. And I say this as someone who doesn't partake in suicide ganking or scamming. People getting emotionally involved in a game is a separate issue entirely and can happen in any game, including chess. CCP Falcon's thoughts on suicide ganking. The implication is that targeting a specific player with repeated legal in game actions (example - bumping) absolutely can be a disallowed form of harassment. You don't find that in chess. That is something unique to a "sandbox" game like Eve, and suggests that CCP recognizes that in game actions can be used to achieve out of game emotional impacts.
