With Phoebe, to be released on November 4th, we not only bring large changes (such as the way how you travel with capital ships), we also have an exciting list of Little Things that will improve the daily life in EVE.
To name just a few of those:
- An improved asset search that will search through containers
- A new state for the overview window that will "Always show" entities regardless if the other states would have filtered out this entitiy
- Separate windows for the directional and probe scanners
- The ability to name jump clones

Separation of dscan and probe scan is also nice. While you are at it, could you also separate 'Contacts' from 'Places'? I often want to have contacts open to watch if any of the guys whose floating ships I earlier found in a POS have since come online, so I can pay them a visit and see how they are doing. On other times though, I need to look at places to check my bookmarks. But the optimal window size is very different for both of these use cases: The contacts I want to have in a high, slim window, while the places are best viewed in a broad, not-so-high window. So I have to constantly resize the peoples&places window. Very annoying.

Can you make it so the names of the jump clones are persistent? Every time I jump into a clone its saved name is wiped and it's frustrating having to re-name the clone every time I jump out of it again....

The "The Rest" section of CCP karkur's devblog are actually things that have already been deployed to TQ in earlier releases (note, not "an earlier release" but rather "earlier releases"), they have just not been mentioned in devblogs before.

Nice new additions and changes, but
would it be possible to remove some very annoying things in the UI like the buggy standing display in local and station? Or the randomly closing windows of the customs offices while importing and exporting goods?

On the contrary, she's making you all look good.
Quality of life changes are huge - you guys should stop pushing them off to the side due to priority or time constraints or whatever other reason gets thrown out for tedious and clunky interfaces.
I find that without a good mob to provide one for them, most people would have no mentality at all.

One other 'little thing' I'd like to see is a separate area in the hangar for mods I just pulled off a ship (say "hangar floor")
I dock, pull off a few mods, switch ships, have to search the whole hangar for those mods (because I'm not space rich and have lots of spares) re-mount then proceed...
The idea would be that recently un-mounted mods would stay in a separate window until I un-dock or clear the window, would be really helpful in some situations where I want the same mods, but on a different ship.

An alternative solution to this would be an option to disable the auto-sort feature either entirely or for specific inventory containers, until (iirc) the great inventory mangling you had to manually sort via the rclick menu, if you didn't then the most recent items placed somewhere would be at the bottom of the list (unless there were gaps from you removing other items in the container previously) and be accordingly easy to find again right away. In general I find the current auto-sorting to be far more of a nuisance than it's ever a use as organising your inventory according to personal taste is now impossible. Whilst a well-intentioned one it's a feature that would also benefit greatly from an option turn off if we wanted.
Plz, another 'little thing' to make our lives easier in certain use cases? |

Not a bad idea, but you can already achieve the same by keeping your mods packaged in your hangar, and sort by quantity. This way all the mods that you pull off a ship will end up on top of the list, since they are unpackaged.
Another feature of the inventory I use a lot is the filtering, I've got filters for high, med, and low slot modules which helps a lot with ship fitting. (I live in a POS so no cans available)

I know about advanced search keywords but I almost never remember them and looking for reference in devblog or forums is too much of a hassle so I very rarely use them. And here comes CCP 'teh awesome' karkur and gives me a tooltip. Oh boy!
And separating scanners into separate windows? I would argue it's one of the best UI improvements ever.
Now, if I only could find power in me to log in...

I've not written "this kind" of devblog since June I think, so there are a few things that we've added since then and have not told you guys about. I noticed that some people didn't know about those changes, so I figured I'd list them there.
